Their greeting was genuine and they seemed thankful that I chose to get my nails done with them. I was offered a drink and enjoyed my pedicure. My nail artist took her time and was meticulous with her work and had strong hands for my good massage which I appreciated. I enjoyed my pedicure with a complimentary drink and the massage chair. For my manicure, she took her time and was still meticulous with her technique. I got a full set of acrylics rounded out and my nails were not chunky and thick looking. They look so classy and like they could be my real nails! I am so pleased with their work AND their friendliness. Oftentimes you get one or the other, friendliness or skill. Sometimes self-care is going to the nail salon and actually listening to the nail tech. I have always had thin nails and have tried a few different measures to make them stronger. When dip came out years ago, I thought that was the answer until recently when my nails grew longer but starting breaking IN the nail bed. This is an extreme painful break! I had another one of these breaks this week during the first day of a three day conference. It was painful and I tried to grin an bear it. I wore a bandaid until it was healed enough to be fixed by the weekend. Today, I arrived early...before the salon even opened and since I am a regular, they opened the doors and let me soak the dip off. The Lisa came in and said "Hi Kim!" Lisa knows me and has fixed one of these breaks before. "Kim...you need to listen to me. Your nails are weak and need a break. Let me fix them up for you." I trust Lisa enough to know this is not a gimmick. After the dip is off, she cuts my remaining nails. Cleans them up and gives them a vitamin soak as well as wash. She then goes for one layer of dip, followed by gel for a natural, strong manicure. She then told me, "Kim...you need to start taking Biotin! Costco has a sale, go get some right away! Also, you need to start soaking your nails in lemon water, the citric acid will make them stronger." She goes on to tell me to try this for a month and then come back and see her. Basic mani/pedi... decently priced for $57 but the end result isn't impressive nor is the process of getting it. Cons: missed the sides of my toes with color + message was 20 seconds per foot + no scrub before the lotion + callus removal was only my heel; mani was better applied color & end result but didn't get any message or lotion or scrub on hands. Overall, really not a great experience. They're super friendly and kind... just poor quality outcome. I felt rushed through the entire time being there and it was in the middle of the day with only 4 others customers. Definitely would recommend a different place for a better experience. read more

Karen was sooo sweet, as was everyone else. She took her time and I felt very well taken care of. The small salon is a relaxing and clean environment. I opted for a spa pedicure, which is just above the basic. I can't imagine how luxurious the upgrades are since the spa pedicure felt amazing. I am disappointed in not receiving a better explanation of what my choices were, the lack of color selection or being steered toward higher price services. DO NOT GO HERE. The staff is exceedingly rude and my manicure and pedicure turned out HORRIBLE. The lady doing my nails was rude, pushy, and became confrontational when I questioned why they wouldn't honor the Yelp check-in discount of 20% nor the 10% military discount. This lady called me obscene names in front of other customers (of which there were two total). She pushed me no less than 6 times if I wanted a callus treatment and despite me saying no, she continued to ask and push. The salon offers only ONE brand of gel colors and there is not a lot of variety - colors are very limited. The quality was horrendous. They didn't do the pummus stone or massage at all despite that being written in their menu of included services for the basic manicure and pedicure. Once they insisted on seeing my military ID, they (mostly the woman doing my manicure) got hands-y with me and tried grabbing my phone out of my hands several times. It was a horrible experience and I will not be going back. To be harassed by staff after embarrassingly subpar service? No thank you. This salon used to be owned by Rose herself and was a great hidden gem. Since it has changed hands, it has really gone down hill. read more

I've been coming here for a few months and waited longer than normal to leave a review because I wanted to give Rose Paradise more stars. Unfortunately the salon remains just okay. Pros: -Mary is very sweet and doesn't talk too much. She usually makes me this amazing ginger tea when I visit. -They have LOTS of colors and varieties: SNS, gel, regular, mood, cat eye, chrome, you name it -Mary is good. See pictures. It's the only reason I endure the cons. Cons: -Mary is the only consistent tech I've seen, and often times the only one there, or there is just one more. Yesterday she had to turn away 2 customers while I was there because she had a long wait, working on one person with me waiting -Cleanliness leaves more to be desired. They use liners and open new tools for pedicure, but everything is a bit grimy -Mary can't or won't do an SNS fill. Every time I ask for a refill, she completely removes it and reapplied it. I've tried asking her to just fill it, but she doesn't seem to understand. I love how close the salon is to my house, but am looking for a new one. read more

I got my nails done at rose nails twice I have spent a couple hundred dollars not including the 60$ I spent on daycare to have them both be coming off and lifting within one week, I called and they said to come in to look at it, I go by on my lunch break from my job and ask them to do the right thing and refund the nails, not the toes just wanted my money back since this happened twice in the last month. First of all they caused a scene and were rude in-front a salon full of people because I don't have time to stop my work day and get them fixed nor do I have a babysitter for my sleeping baby in the car. I left upset with unfixed nails and out the 100 bucks these cost me which included me paying to have the fee individual original nails replaced that had already popped off. All I can say is this place is disappointing and handled the situation poorly. Good luck in there but don't expect them to stand by their work or give you any sort of refund and definitely don't expect those nails to last longer than a few days! Eta first one was Karen or Tina. I can't remember and the second one who did it was BEN because I had heard good reviews, both of which did not even last a week before they were lifting again overall, a terrible experience, a huge waste of money, and then embarrassing me at the end of it by causing a scene when all I did was ask them to do the right thing and give me my money back. read more

You get what you pay for! Was excited to try this place and hopeful it could be my new go-to mani pedi spot since I moved further away from my regular spot and wow! It was $5 cheaper for a mani than what I usually pay. Nope. She barely spent any time at all shaping my nails. You can see the jagged edges on the photo attached. I used to come here all the time. Took a break for a while and came back for a regular manicure and pedicure. They told me they didn't have regular nail polish and only do gel polish. They gave me the pricing for a pedicure and picked out what I wanted. When I went to pay they charged my $77 for a pedicure which was not what was listed but refused to honor the other price. Also while they were painting my nails I told them I didn't like the color as it wasn't the color i picked and wanted something else. They told me they couldn't change the color and if I wanted a change I would have to pay for removal and then pay an additional $22 to get them repainted. Mind you, it wasn't the color I picked out in the first place she decided on her own that another color would look better on me. I complained about this but they refused to do anything. Not pleased this time at all. Received gelish/shellac manicure last week. The Polish has consistently lifted at the cuticle and has snagged on EVERYTHING! Some of my nails look like only 2/3 of the nail was ever painted... I'm disappointed. Oh and I forgot to mention the last time I went and actually saw Ms. Rose. I asked for zebra print (green and white) on my big toe. It looked like she painted whit flames or branches on a big green toe. It was so horrible that I had to take it off the moment I got home. I'm pretty pleased with this place. I was going on vacation and needed false eyelashes that would last me two weeks. I called ahead to be sure they could fit me in (it was a Wednesday) and I was told that it was no problem to come by. The location for me was a bit of a pain, its in a very busy part of Alexandria and the traffic was terrible (3pm). Nevertheless I got there and parking was limited to say the least. I walk in and it's fairly empty, only three other patrons and they were all getting their nails worked on. I got escorted to a room in the back that left a little to be desired. They had a towel laying down that I quickly asked to be changed so that I could lay down for the eyelash placement. I forgot the lady that worked on me, but she did a great job! I hate putting things in/near my eyes but she was patient with me and it was pretty painless. I did have to ask her to stop pulling on my eyelashes during the drying process but other than that, no complaints. It's two weeks later and my eyelashes still look pretty decent. I will be coming back to get them taken off and I will be trying out their nail techs. read more

Did my nails in a hurry. I went in asked for gel nails. When taking my previous nails off they were forcefully taking it off and broke one of my real nails in the process which ended up bleeding. Proceeded to add tips then handed me over to someone else. Kelly started doing acrylics despite me telling her i just wanted gel. She did not know how to do it properly. She kept having to start all over. When she finally got it done she started shaping them they all roughly look like almond. Hands down, the BEST nail spa I've been to in Virginia. The spa is clean, the services are great and the technicians are so nice. They offered me tea, asked my name and were just very polite in general. A regular spa pedicure includes a paraffin treatment and a foot/calf massage. Also, on Mondays, they have a special that includes either 20% a full set, a 10 minute massage on an eyebrow wax free. Not bad at all! The pedicure was great; the tools are clean and the spa was quiet. Rose did my nails, and she's an absolute perfectionist. I went for gel pink and white acrylics with a 3D flower design on each ring finger. It's as if Rose was drawing a a work of art on my fingers - she totally took her time. For all of my services - and I had a lot of add-ons including callous removal - my total was $80. Most DC spas would charge at least $30 more for the design, etc. I am so grateful I found this place. Keep in mind that if you get a 3D nail design, you will be there for a while...be patient and enjoy! read more

I always come back here. The service is great and the prices are worth what you get. Victoria is fantastic - I always go back to her. She is very detailed in her work and cares that you are happy with the end result. I have had other nail techs do my nails when they are busy and they do a great job as well. Everything is very sanitized too. I usually get an acrylic set with gel or SNS on my natural nails. With acrylic Victoria is able to change the shape easily without having to redo the set. For example what I got today - she was able to change my round shape to a coffin shape nail. Def recommend coming to this nail salon!!! read more
