RUDE & HORRIBLE! I had a man come out and check my water heater, turns out he needed to order a part which was called " the gas control valve", he called and he told me he had ordered the part and told me i had to wait 5-7 business days for it to get here. ( mind you i had No hot water i had to boil water and sometimes even shower my 2 year old toddler in cold water) i said okay that's fine, i waited about a week and a half, the company then called and asked if they could send a plumber to come and order the part that we needed because " unfortunately" the plumber they had sent about a week ago prior to that day did not order it. He then got here to the location & continued to be rude saying " well i thought i ordered it " not taking into consideration that he had made a mistake... 1 star review !!! read more

I called $25 Plumbing heating and AC for HVAC service as AC was not working. Somehow Solace Plumbing came with response. Barry at Solace diagnosed freon leak but no detection work was performed. He proposed alternative solution of replacing with a new replace coil and condenser unit. I chose quick and short solution as my normal HVAC contact was not available then. Solace charged $934 me for 5 lbs freon and sealant and easy leak detection. A week later, AC stopped working and I called Solace again. He came back and this time he propose only solution of replacing coil and condenser unit at $7848 adding earlier payment to be credited if I agree for them to do such work. I refused. It was only 1 week after initial call and he didn't even try to look for leak. Of course he refused any refund unless I agree full work with him. I let him go Totally Unsatisfied and Disgusted. My contact came back 2 weeks later. He found a major leak immediately but he continued detection rest of the line. He did performed complete AC condenser unit and coils well over $2000 LESS including new copper line. My HVAC man was very surprised Solace charged $89/lbs for freon while he sail it costs only $20. BUYERS BE AWARE!! SOLACE IS THE COMPANY TO AVOID TO CALL IF YOU WANT YOUR AC SYSTEM TO WORK AT REASONABLE COST. read more

I used Solace last year to replace my old water heater. They were professional, friendly & knowledgeable. I recently contacted Solace when I decided to replace my existing furnace & air conditioner. Bryan came to the home to discuss the project and gave me several options & price quotes for each. There was no pressure to go with a more expensive system & I appreciated that. Today was installation day & other than the lousy weather, everything went great! All was explained to me from the new (very nice) thermostat to installing the replacement filter. I was impressed with care they took, placing protection on the floors and cleaning up any debris before they left. This is a family owned, local business. Our kitchen sink just stopped dispensing hot water. The faucet was installed in January by myself. I tried flushing it out and nothing worked. The flow was horrible. I called Solace and Barry came out. He quickly diagnosed that contaminants had gotten into the main body of the faucet and the faucet had failed. I bought a new faucet and will take up the warranty with the company and Barry installed the new faucet. It looks and works amazing now!! I requested a quote for an urgent project and was assured I would receive it by the end of the following day. However, I kept calling and was repeatedly told the same thing day after day without any follow-up. Despite my efforts to follow up, I received no response via phone or email. This lack of communication and professionalism is unacceptable. I expected much better service, especially given their claims to handle commercial work. SCAMS the elderly! $25 Plumbing is another name for this company. Charged my elderly parents over $1300 for this breakdown. 1) Cut into wet drywall ceiling in the garage (easy access) with a water bubble, no repair of drywall after - approx. $50 worth of exploratory work 2) Replaced ABS/PVC bathtub drain assembly - max $100 worth of parts 3) Replaced a shower valve cartridge - $100 max for the part 4) Total labor time of less than 2 hours - $200/hr if extremely expensive labor rate This should have been a sub $800 job for the most expensive plumber before we get into rip off territory. Most honest plumbers would be in the $500-$600 range for this work. Absolutely disgusting they would over charge so much to an elderly couple. Another flag that most will not catch is that there is no consistency with this business. Simple Google search will show 3 different addresses on Jersey Blvd, Rosebud Street, and Sunflower Avenue on sites all updated within the last several years. While they do have an active CA contractor license with proper bond and insurance filed, they are not BBB accredited. If you read their review responses on Google and elsewhere, you'll see they justify their high prices with insurance, office staff, fuel, etc. Well, other plumbers also have the same expenses, so explain that. We have been with Solace - formerly $25 Plumbing for more than 15 years now. Over the last couple of months we have had them come by a couple of times for urgent - not quite emergency - work. Water heater stopped heating last month. Don came to look at it the day we called. Fixed it and did a service / overhaul at the same time. Second job was a toilet where the flush mechanism was leaking. Again, they came quickly and promptly, Unfortunately that time something went wrong with the repair and we had to call again within a week. The good news there is that Sean came right away, found what had gone wrong in the first repair and fixed it with no delay. The good news again is that he did not charge us for the second visit saying that there should not have been a problem after the first visit and it was Solace's responsibility to fix it. Thanks. Solace came out to replace my water heater, which took quite a while to install. Sean was very nice. However, I was pretty upset with the fact that his girlfriend kept showing up at my home. Why did she even have my address?? She brought him food, left & then came back & sat in her car to wait for him to finish the job. It was a huge distraction to him in doing the job he was there to do. He had to come back the next day to finish the job. Barry and his sons Brandon and Brian were not only very professional they were very honest! they were very receptive to my concerns and answered all my questions and I had a lot! I was around them constantly watching how they did things and it never bugged them. It was a big job...they installed a new tankless water heater, furnace and A/C!! That just didn't install the equipment and leave they even painted spots that were uncovered during the installation! Who does that! They also added some additional sheath at my request at no extra cost! They're cleanup was thorough and they did this all with a great attitude and a smile! My wife ordered a second business (Mr Rooters) with intentions to get the fastest service possible (we considered our situation kind of an emergency and she would cancel whoever was coming second, considering the promised text) Driver from $25 shows up unannounced without text and sees Mr Rooters van. Clearly irritated, the driver yells to my wife holding our 1 year old in our driveway "Thanks for cancelling me" with sarcasm. I have been using this company (formerly $25 Plumber) for nearly 20 years. I need to apologize to them for not writing a review earlier (that's really not my thing), but I really need to spotlight this exceptional company! Barry and his team have provided so many varied services to us over the years-leaky faucets to clogged drains to updating old fixtures to replacing a complete HVAC system. Plus rescuing us multiple times with same day service when our A/C stopped worked 30 minutes before we were hosting a holiday party, or when a leaky valve forced us to shut our water off to the whole house. They are awesome! Our recent emergency was the leaky valve, where we had to shut off water to our house on a Friday evening. They responded immediately to my "911" distress call, and Sean arrived within about 60 minutes. He was able to fix the problem quickly and cleaned all surface areas in the bathroom when he was done (including areas that weren't even in his work area). Sean was so courteous and knowledgeable, and I so appreciate his leaving the work area so clean! read more

Claimed he was on his way multiple times so i left work then he never showed. He never gave an estimate for the water heater pressure relief valve before starting the job. When he sent me an email with the invoice ($1,400.00) .. he added charges claiming he fixed my kitchen sink when he came inside to wash his hands for 30 seconds. Not impressed at all. I simply had a stripped bolt in my toilet tank that needed to be replaced by somebody with better tools than I have. About a $2 bolt and the time it would take to remove and replace it was the entire job. I stated this to the receptionist on the phone. Plumber (Kevin) shows up and tells me I have a options of $600, $800, and $1,100! All to replace the entire toilet. I told him multiple times that the toilet was fine I just needed the bolt removed and replaced. He played dumb and kept offering me the same ridiculous quotes. I sent him on his way but of course I still had to pay the $90 service charge just to get offered 3 different levels of ripoffs! This company is truly excellent. I have used them 3 times and every time they have been prompt, professional and fixed the issue for me. Mind you the issues were left unfixed by other vendors previously!!! I called them last night at 5:15 pm for a leak and they arrived at 6:00! I was super happy to have such a quick turnaround. They appear to be family Owned which is also a plus because i love supporting family businesses. Called to schedule an Air Conditioning diagnostic as air was coming out hot. They confirmed appt for 2 to 4 pm.They never showed up! When I called receptionist stated they sent a voice mail saying they were not coming ,which they did, however I was not at my phone when they called. They never followed up to make sure I received the message. I had tenant give up a day of work for an appointment Solace Plumbing was never going to show up for. I believe this company operates at a beginner level for a business at best and definitely not up to the profession al standards of their counterparts. I would definitely not trust them to examine my HVAC system or work on it. I wish I would have checked their earlier reviews (also not very complimentary). read more

Do Not do business with this company. I called them for bathroom not draining and backing up to the bathtub and shower. They told me the camera showed tree branches under the patio. They quoted me almost $4000. I asked how long is that guaranteed for. They first told me 2 year. I told them I will not pay almost $4000 for 2 year warranty. They gave me 10 year warranty. But when they sent me the invoice it said 2 year warranty. I sent them a message and reminded them about the 10 year warranty they promised. They told me 2 year warranty comes with their standard form. But mine is 10 year warranty. Well it did not even last 2 months. I had the same problem. I called them. They came. They came. They started making excuses. I reminded them they were the ones who diagnosed and they are the plumber not me. They fixed. After about 6 months had the same problem. I called. I reminded them about the 10 year warranty. They make all kinds of excuses and wanted to charge me additional $600 to fix the problem they diagnosed to begin with. I called another plumber and got it fixed for $68. This company does not know how to diagnose plumbing problem. They have figured out how to make easy money. read more

It took me awhile to post this because I was embarrassed that I did not do my homework. I had just lost my husband and really not thinking too well. I needed a toilet replaced and when I spoke with the receptionist she stated it would be $69 for the consult and would have to pay that if they didn't do the job. The plumber showed up quickly and gave me a quote of $493 to install a toilet I had bought at Home Depot. I gave approval and the job was done in an hour. The caulking job he did around the bottom of the toilet was terrible. I felt I was taken advantage of being a female and I have learned a lesson from this. read more

He explained to me that 25 dollar plumbing was just the name of their company, not an actual $25 offer for simple plumbing jobs. Well, it makes sense because it would be silly if there actually was a company that would offer affordable prices for simple tasks. As a matter of fact, it costs $75 just to have them come out and check out what's going on in your home. Called them because my water heater pilot light went out. I couldn't get it to light. Don came out, no mask, who diagnosed the problem in 20 seconds without any luck relighting and quoted me $653 for a thermocoupler replacement, $2,783 for a new water heater install and $4,333 for a tankless water heater. Talk about super high prices. A premium 50 gallon, 12 year warranty tank is around $750. Also when Don tried to relight unit, I said no thanks for the quotes and he said it was $49! Ridiculous but I paid. As I went back into my house, he left the gas supply line valve on and the gas pilot dial on. I had to shut off the gas supply line and annoyed Don left it like that, careless. Needless to say, I got my $49 back. Not sure what the $25 advertising is for. Beware of high prices. read more

My air conditioner has never ran better. I needed a recharge and called this company. I had used them in the past. Barry came out, on-time for appointment. I was a little hesitant after finding out the price. $350 to hose off the unit and charge the refrigerant plus a $79 the service call. He did install my new thermostat for no additional charge. Work appeared to be good. I will be able to tell more when we get 100+ heat. Although now my house actually gets uncomfortably cold and we have hit temps of upper 90's. Love it. I made an appointment with this company for them to check my water heater because the pilot was out; so everything was good to go. I got home, waited for them to show up for the appointment and nobody came. So I called the office asking if someone was on their way and the guy put me on hold for a while only to say that someone would be contacting me. So I waited for a few minutes and I called back and he said the person I needed to talk to was still on the phone and would call me back. So I waited for over an hour for someone to call back and to this day (almost two weeks ago) no phone call. I had to call Roto Rooter that evening and someone came out, cleaned my water heater and and got it started for me that same day. I will never go through this company again.
