Literally best dental place I have ever been too! Dr Chen is the most compassionate and thorough dentist I have ever met. I've been a couple times now and he's truthful and honest about what you need. He doesn't try to price gouge you with procedures you don't need. I got my fillings redone as they were deteriorating. He wrote me the next day to see how I was doing which I absolutely loved. That's how you know they care. The staff in the front is lovely and they are a very clean facility. I appreciate that they are on top of talking with your insurance beforehand to make sure everything is good and you're not paying way out of what you would after the fact. I had a terrible experience in the past with a different office where they price gouged me and made it seem as if I needed a procedure that day so this office gave me extreme relief. Dr. Chen and his staff are great. After a terrible experience at another dental clinic, I was relieved to receive amazing care at Solano Dental. I went to Alamo smiles, the dentist told me I need a root canal and deep cleaning! My gut told me to get a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Chen injected antibiotics into my gum and my pain issue was resolved. No root canal or deep cleaning needed. I went in for the first time to get my teeth checked and have a cleaning. The dentist was pushy on getting veneers. She told me that my teeth were very bad and that they wouldn't last in the next several years. I declined. She handed me a sheet asking me about my previous medical history and I answered honestly. When I gave it to her she said "is this all true because you didn't mark some of them" I asked her which was I supposed to mark and she just stared at me and said never mind. I was confused because the sheet had boxes to mark if you've taken certain medications, if you had prior medical conditions, any depression things of that nature. I marked everything that pertained to me. I asked her if there was some that she wanted me to mark to clear up confusion and she again stared at me and said no. After everything was done she was very pushy about getting veneers and again I kindly declined. As I was paying at the receptionist, they were very judgmental and rude and laughed as I walked out. I decided to go to another dentist to get a 2nd opinion because this visit left me feeling uncomfortable. The dentist that I went to was in Vallejo and they said my teeth are strong and good and I just need to continuing flossing and going to my biannual checkups. They found it odd that solano dental group was insisting on me getting veneers and mentioned that they were probably trying to get more sales. I'm glad I got a 2nd opinion and have been treated respectfully at my new dentist ever since. BTW, I still have all of my teeth and they look great. Thank you. read more

I have been coming to solano dental for 10 years and won't go anywhere else. Dr. Chen is an amazing dentist! He is so kind and really cares about you and your oral health. I just had a filling done last week and he text me to check in and make sure I was ok. Generally, you wouldn't get a call or text for a filling so I was pleasantly surprised to see a text from him. Dr. Chen and his entire dental offer best quality care with exceptional patient experience. I had an unexpected, horrible tooth ache during our vacation on the east coast. I texted Dr. Chen and he immediately sent over prescriptions to take care of my pain right away and scheduled me to come in to see him upon my return. Root canal was done exceptionally well, safe and fast. I experienced no pain during and after procedure. Crown was done subsequently. I've been putting off seeing the dentist as much as I could. I know I'm not the only one whose butt cheeks clench when the drilling comes or when they're ready to start putting things in your mouth. So after hearing my coworker rave about about her Dentist, Dr. Chen and other Docs in the practice, I decided to give it a go. I figured if she was willing to drive over an hour from her home for a dental procedure, then you know the dental practice must be worth it. I went ahead and met with Dr. Kris who talked to me about my concerns with toxicity and metal fillings I had since I was a kid. The thought of me laughing and smiling with metal mouth made me hyperconscious and we came up with a plan. After a cleaning and metal fillings removed, I knew for sure that this was going to be my place. The whole experience wasn't as bad as I thought. Dr. Kris put me at ease by explaining the procedure, what she was doing, what to expect. I responded with thumbs up, less butt clenching, and relaxed my grip around my oversized bag that somewhat doubled as a security blanket. I'm new to the area so I'm looking for a new dentist. I called Solano Dental and made an appointment with them 2 weeks out. I gave them my insurance info and they said everything was fine. I get to my appointment fill out the new patient paperwork and then she tells me my visit will be $200 plus because I'm out of network. I explained that I called 2 weeks ago about this she confirmed that they messed up. You sign a contract stating if you miss an appointment you will be billed for the time. My wife had a 10/10 in pain for an emergency root canal on a Saturday when most dentist offices are closed. My wife's pain has started the day prior. We called several locations advising them she had not slept, ate or drank anything since yesterday due to the pain. On top of this she was 30 weeks pregnant and the pain she was going through had our baby bouncing around due to her anxiety associated with the pain. All of the other locations said they could do anything for us. We went to Solano Dental Group and they immediately made availability for us even though they had been fully booked for the day. Well, Dr. Chen has a great seat side manner. He knows what he's doing but he isn't the reason I'm posting this. The reason is Fadia. I had to come in for a deep cleaning/ debridement and while the first one wasn't with Fadia, it still got the job done. I'm not one for local anesthetic because it just takes jab after jab to even get anything going. High pin tolerance just had me choosing the topical and getting on with it. The first time without Fadia was bearable. Afterwards the usual soreness for a day and a bit of sensitivity. Yet, the second time I was lucky enough to end up with Fadia. She's a gem when it comes to dental work. We all hate the dentist for various reasons, but with her around my second session of my deep cleaning was essentially enjoyable. Where the pain was about a 5 or 6 out of 10, she hooked me up and went ham on the topical and this time it rated around a 2 out of 10. Even when we had to spend extra time one a single spot for a while and it was more of an annoyance than being painful. Even though I was bleeding like a stuck pig (expected when someone's digging with a metal hook well below your gum line. I remember there's a dentist office at the mall. I call and speak to Melissa who gets me in the same day. I entered the establishment, receive a warm welcome and right away I feel comfortable. I had to put off my appointment a few months ago because care provider was not vaccinated, I made it clear that I didn't want to be seen by anyone who is not vaccinated, I even asked the front desk lady to put it in my chart. A few days ago I was notified that my appointment would have to be changed because care provider would not be available on Saturday, I agreed and once again made it clear I didn't want to be seen by anyone who is unvaccinated. I was assured my care provider would be vaccinated. I went to my appointment and asked care provider if she was vaccinated, she told me she couldn't tell me because HIPAA prevented it. That is not how HIPPA works she straight out lied to me, HIPAA didn't prevent her from answering my direct question or declining to answer. I will find another dentist who takes the health of their patients seriously. It's my health and the choice should be up to me if I want to be be exposed in such a vulnerable way by the unvaccinated. They disregarded my request that I only be seen by a vaccinated provider and lied about HIPPA laws read more

I am soooo happy we chose to come to Solano Dental group, even though they are out of network for my dental insurance plan. They have a in house discount program that is a great way to have some sort of coverage for your family for dental work. Dr. Chen was the sweetest dentist I have ever met. He really has great people skills and was very compassionate. My teenage daughter was nervous going in today for an extraction, but she said Dr. Chen was so gentle, but also that his conversation with her made her start her day off in a great mood, even after an extraction. Also, the office is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The way they give you your paperwork is one of the nicest ways I've ever experienced, and the decor is so aesthetic. Update: I have had a tooth extracted and teeth cleaned. I am still very satisfied. Visiting a dentist on a Saturday night isn't my idea of the greatest way to spend it; however, it was awesome that I could even find a dentist on a Saturday night! Prior to moving to this area, I had some dental work done. While eating a BLT yesterday, I felt something wierd happening. I discovered the the filling had come out and it appeared as if the crown had come lose. It became very painful. I looked up dentists on my insurance's website and began calling. I couldn't find anyone (even though their Yellow Page ads said that they would see emergencies.) What the ads didn't say were that (a) you had to already be a patient or (b) the emergency had to occur during office hours. Finally, I said "to heck with insurance." I found an ad that indicated that Solano Dental Group in the mall was open nights and weekends. I called and was able to get in immediately. The staff was competent and friendly. While my news wasn't good (when the filling came out, there was nothing to provide support and my tooth fractured), Dr. Su was very competent and caring individual. She had a very good "bedside manner" when she had to tell me that the tooth could not be saved. She explained my options. She was willing to remove the tooth that day; however, knowing that I am in a high profile job, she recommended a temporary option that would cover the area until I could get a dental implaint. The staff explained the costs of several different procedures. Since I was concerned about what my insurance would pay, the receptionist called the person who would be on duty on Monday morning and explained my situation. That person would call my insurance on Monday morning and let me know what they said. (How often does this usually happen?) Needless to say, I have been very pleased with service so far. read more

I am one of those people who hate to go to the dentist, so my teeth aren't up to what they should be. i had pain from a tooth breaking and so I went in to see Dr. Chen. Instead of judging me and lecturing me on my teeth, he instead told me options I had. He ended up extracting the tooth, but was so nice and concerned. After the procedure, he gave me his business card with his personal cell phone number to call him should there be any complications that evening or weekend. I would recommend this dental office and Dr. Chen to anyone new to the area. They work with your insurance, told me my upfront cost before they did the procedure and made my visit pleasant. I love how this dental office is in the mall. While I get my teeth clean, my boyfriend can go walk around and wait for me. Dr. Chen and his wife are excellent doctors and I would recommend them to any of my friends and family. The staff is so nice and have been there for years. The office is very welcoming and it makes your overall experience going to the dentist comforting since I hate going to the dentist.
