She was extremely careful and made sure I was comfortable with the procedure, frankly it did burn a bit, I tough it out in order to have the very best result. My teeth and gums felt surreal, It was an amazing experience! Everyone involved from X-ray to hygienist is always nice with great enthusiasm.It's an absolute pleasure to visit every six months. I had a mixed experience at Fairfield Dentist today. I was running behind for my cleaning, but I called ahead and was told there was a 15-minute grace period. I arrived within that window (right around 14 minutes late) and immediately apologized to both the front desk staff and the dental hygienist. Unfortunately, instead of acknowledging the apology and moving forward, the hygienist repeatedly focused on my tardiness. She made comments about how it would "put a damper" on the appointment and continued to bring it up even after I had already taken accountability. The tone felt unwelcoming and, at times, unnecessarily reprimanding. Dental visits already put patients in a vulnerable position, and the last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable with the person providing care. Because of this, I ultimately chose to reschedule the cleaning and step away from that interaction. That said, I did keep my 9:00 AM appointment with the dentist, and that portion of my visit was very pleasant. I was also seen by Alex Howard, who is an absolute gem--always kind, down to earth, and warm. My experiences with her have consistently been positive, which made the earlier interaction stand out even more. I understand the importance of staying on schedule, but once a patient communicates and apologizes, there's no need to continue addressing it in a way that feels excessive. A more professional and solution-oriented approach would have made all the difference. Overall, while parts of my experience were great, others left a lot to be desired. read more

Always get a second opinion! This office recommended extracting my wisdom teeth because I had a cavity that they didn't want to work on. Second opinion didn't understand why they would recommend extracting when the teeth are fully erupted, no crowding, no gum encroachment, and did the filling that I originally requested from Fairfield with no issues. Fairfield also recommended a crown on a different tooth that had a filling from childhood. Second opinion said the crown was unnecessary. Fairfield said I had early signs of periodontal disease. Second opinion said I had no bone loss to substantiate periodontal disease. Always get a second opinion, especially when they're recommending thousands of dollars in treatment with other less invasive, cheaper options that they don't want to perform. If this office reads this review, do better! Listen to your patients. Stop caring only about your bottom line. read more

This general office has done a great job switching up and making better decisions moving forward. There were a few staff members, including a dentist that we were not satisfied with before and since then I believe they have moved onto another dental office. All of the issues that we had prior to have been resolved. The staff is very friendly the dentist and the orthodontist that we have work out of this office are absolutely amazing. Dentists offices can be intimidating for young kids, this dental office has done a great job at making kids feel comfortable & excited with there design approach & friendly atmosphere. Been living in this community for 40+ years. Worse experience with the orthopedic side of this business. I do not recommend you waste your time or money. They lost their dentist and canceled several of our appointments then refunded me partial of the full payment I gave them leaving my son braces on stating we didn't go to his appointments and we needed to find another orthopedic location. I personally talked to them serval times with nothing but excuses from them. They are a horrible company and a disgrace to our community. I will never recommend them and I do not yelp unless it's a good review . They deserve the first bad review from me. Do not go! The kids side next to this place is amazing. BEWARE: Illegal billing practices!! You could end up with bad credit due to THEIR incompetence and unprofessional practices Worst care ever. I went in for routine cleaning and some fillings that were needed. They checked my insurance and told me the total that I was owed. I paid and went on my way. Within a few days the filling that I had done had fallen out. A couple of months later I received a bill from them that I still owed money. I tried calling - no response. I sent a message via their portal to the dentist that had done my work to inquire about why I had this extra bill when they had checked my insurance before I had service - no response. I ended up just paying the bill. Next thing I know I have a letter from collections. This letter went to collections less than a month after I received initial bill notification. I never got a response to my message, never received a phone call, nothing. When I called to ask them why this happened and spoke to the manager, she admitted it was a fault on their end as to why the doctor was "not in network" at the time. That nobody had reached out to me regarding the bill. And that "the system" just sends bills to collections 90 days after the date of service (not the date that the bill was created). Even though I had paid in full on the date of service, had reached out to them, and had not been properly notified, I now had a bill sent to collections. Despite all this, the manager had the audacity to tell me it "wasn't her fault" and "what did I want her to do?". No actual sincere apology. No attempt to refund me for a filling that fell out. Nothing. Just a lame attempt to sweep things under the rug as if this wasn't an issue. What can you do? How about you correctly set up your systems so there aren't extra charges for no reason at all when I purposedly sought a dentist that was "In Network"? Or return messages that are sent in a timely manner? Or don't send bills to collections that are less than a month old? Send a statement in writing that this has been cleared up and is no longer in collections. Or when all of this happens (100% due to office issues and not anything the patient did) - you actually give a sincere apology and work to fix the issues rather than trying to say "I don't know", "It's not my fault", "It's just the way the system is set up", "I can't do anything about it". Not only are they engaging in illegal practices (sending bills to collections before 30 days), they act as if potentially screwing up your credit due to mistake after mistake on their end is no big deal. read more

In the past, I had been seen at a smaller dental office where I was known and all the staff were upbeat happy cheery ppl which suits my personality. My visit at Fairfield D & O, staff were professional and courteous but I didn't feel special. Perhaps overtime that will come but would've appreciated a little more enthusiasm from the care team (Dentist & assistant). I remain hopeful. I waited awhile before posting this review because I really wanted this to be fair and for this to be based on my findings and not just my assumptions. When I read "Christine B's review" I was quite surprised because I had quite a similar experience. Immediately on my first visit with Fairfield Dentists & Orthodontists I noticed their questionnaires trying to probe you for more costly treatments...questions like "is there anything that bothers you about the appearance of your teeth" In addition to the adds you see and emails sent for extra cosmetic procedures. Automatically, my impression was they are vastly interested in selling you costly products/services. Afterward, I was taken for x-rays and then a dentist proceded to check my teeth. Shortly after she left the room. After what seemed an eternity, the guy from the front office slaps me a proposed bill of few thousand dollars, states I needed aggressive deep cleanings every 3 months, laser treatments and an array of other things and was told approximately $700 out of pocket was due on my first treatment. I then spoke to the dentist who stated because i had active gum disease and my back teeth pockets were measuring at 6s that they could not perform regular cleaning on me. She also stated that my periodontal disease was at a point where I could do nothing at home to improve it. So, I had to shell out a few thousand dollars in order to be seen because my insurance would not cover all the expenses. I barely set foot into this office and immediately have to pay thousands of dollars..and they refuse to see me without getting the expensive treatment!!! Hmmm...what they did NOT know is that I had just seen a dentist a few months ago in which everything was fine. Being in the healthcare profession myself (however, not a dentist) i knew that this didn't sound right so I sought the advice of my friends who are dentists. (They all live too far away for me to see them) They had some strong opinions and choice words but in the end their advice was to seek a second opinion in which I did. I wanted a clean slate and an honest opinion (unbiased) at my second dentist so I did not mention anything about what they said at my initial dental visit with Fairfield Dentists & Orthodontists. I simply said I was a new patient. I wanted to be able to compare findings from the first and second dentist. Was it a surprise that the proposed treatment was completely different? At the second dentist my worst measurements were 4s and no deep cleanings were recommended. The plan of treatment was to continue to floss and brush regularly and to return in 6 months for a regular cleaning. Extra charges....none!!!!! Quite a contrast from the 6s I received and extensive cleanings and treatments I was told I desperately needed from Fairfield Dentists and Orthodontists. Two dentist (my old dentist that I seen prior to visiting Fairfield Dentist & Orthodontist and my new dentist that I sought out afterward) were on the same page with my care and treatment plan....preventative care and cleanings every 6 months. This review is based solely on my experience and findings...I do NOT recommend Fairfield Dentists & Orthodontists unless you don't mind being overcharged and potentially having unnecessary work done on your teeth! Going to the dentist used to give me anxiety. I'm glad I finally found a dentist I can truly trust and provide the care I need. Dr. Joyce and her team are exceptionally great at what they do. I have had dental treatments like filling and old crown removal within the year where I had to get numbing injections. Dr. Joyce and her assistant Kristina will do extra special things like gentle stokes on my forehead, use flavored numbing Qtips on my gums, ask me to take deep slow breaths, talk to me about other stuff -- just really effective ways to distract me and make my visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible! They are very kind, pleasant and very professional. Also pleased with the friendly receptionists (Rubelio) and overall warm atmosphere. Everything went great, I was extremely satisfied with cleaning and wait time, I had a busy schedule the day of my appointment and they got me in and out in no time while providing excellent service to my teeth. They also didn't try to persuade me to any get unnecessary procedures as others have done in the past. I am updating my review after a few years for a few reasons: 1) this place became over commercialized 2) I began with one dentist then over the course of time was switched to like three others without notice 3) I took time off from work and was scheduled to have my wisdom teeth extracted (they don't bother me, however the dentists were always bothered by them). They didn't do any preconsultation, so when the day came and they asked some general questions they then sent me away telling me they couldn't do the removal and that I'd have to go to a hospital for it (I have sleep apnea). My family and I have been coming to this place for years and I couldn't be happier. The front desk is always very polite and helpful. Dr. Joyce is absolutely fabulous; she is very friendly, meticulous and spot on with her diagnosis. Amanda the hygienist also rocks; I was very nervous about my deep cleaning, but she had a calming effect and was very gentle. Recently the office has shifted over to a web platform where you can find all your dental history, upcoming visits and paperwork. Sat there for 15 mins before the receptionist told me he would take me when his coworker gets back. I regret having gone back to this place so many times but I thought they would get it right eventually. Very over priced. Bad attitude. And not interested in taking care of the simple things like routine cleanings, 6 month wait for that. But they can get you in right away if they can make you pay for a crown. I only went to this dental practice because my employee sponsored insurance covered it. My first two visits were wonderful! I received a through cleaning and the hygienist was more than happy to answer my questions. My most recent visit was not the best. My dentist was late by 45 minutes (I think they are understaffed). He had terrible bedside manner. He kept referring to my teeth with negative connotations. (They are considered groovy). He asked very little about my dental health habits/history. He made assumptions about my dental practices instead of asking. Also, I'm noticing everyone's gripe about having a different dentist every visit. I didn't mind that as much. It does however make it difficult to connect with the dentist. They have switched over to a new online sign in system. Dr. Patel was awesome. her assistant Katey was amazing. She was helpful and understanding. I went in for a routine exam and they found I needed two root canals and two extractions. Cynthia the receptionist was excellent. She explained the fees and payment options until I was satisfied. On that day, the endodontist Dr. Mindy Bouncristani was in. She managed to complete both root canals on the same day. Unfortunately while in the chair, I had a huge anxiety attack stressing over finances. The dentist and her assistant Janica, were very patient, understanding and assured me not to worry. Ultimately it all worked out fine. No one ever WANTS to go to the dentist. Very shady practice. Husband went for exam, xrays and cleaning under his Kaiser Dr Advantage Dental Plan. First we're X-rays, then exam by dentist, then instead of a hygienist coming in to clean, a salesperson type guy came in to announce that over $1250 of deep cleaning needed done with ongoing visits for special cleaning every 4 mos at $130 each! this was based on a questionable exam where the dentist suspiciously measured the gum recession (which had been fine at previous dentist). Since a few years ago when they transitioned into a new software for patient files, they have been so terrible that I left. 5 years later this place still haunts me. The manager Jenna refused to write me a letter to my current insurance that I no longer use their office's services until much debate. She insisted on arguing with me rather than look up my account. Came here on a recommendation from another smiles dentistry from Vacaville. Pleasant staff, dentist, assistants, were all great to work with. We were supposed to set up some tooth extractions, insurance of course denies some of the treatment, the staff here were very accommodating, easy to talk to, and everyone wants to help. If I could give zero stars I would. This place is very UNPROFESSIONAL. I had an appt in which I had to miss work for. Upon arrival the receptionist acted as if she couldn't find my appt. I asked her if she found it and she said that my appt was canceled due to the dentist quitting. She then said they called several times to let me know but i NEVER received any calls or voicemails. I showed her my confirmation email sent to me. I then explained that I needed a note stating I was there for my appt since I had to take time off work. Equipment does not work. Water was spraying on my face and shirt. They could not regulate the pressure. The laser that's supposed to kill resistant bacteria was not working either which was scheduled to be part of my treatment. The hygienist was going to have my bill adjusted because I didn't receive laser treatment but there was no need. However, the very young lady that she asked to look into that was curt and rude. I've dealt with her in the past and she does not have a personality well suited to customer service. Also scheduling issues. I was scheduled for May 4th but was told it was not in the system. Have been coming here for years, but ever since i started my braces with this office everything has gone downhill. They have been through 4 orthodontists in the last year and a half and each one had different plan with my teeth. This being said, my teeth had zero progress in the last year and a half and i had no other choice but to get them removed. Went in to have permanent cement on a crown that fell off. So a Dr. looked at it, poked around and could not get the crow off. I used temporary cement from Walmart!! Then, without removing it told me I needed a root canal (1000+) with a crown build up (200+) and a new crown. The new crown .... ok. Everything else ? Baloney !! I went here for a toothache. The dentist was very friendly and seems great at her job. She wasn't able to determine the best solution and was going to refer me to an endodontist​. Toreano (the office manager I think) was going to reach out to me. I called back 3 hours after leaving and he still hadn't found an endodontist available and would get back to me by 2:15. I didn't hear from him or anybody and tried to call back at 3 and 3:15 but was unable to get ahold of anyone and they closed at 3:30. For the weekend. I can't recommend this place. read more

I gave this place a benefit of a doubt but like the saying goes, "First impression is the last"......... I just had a cleaning treatment twice within a year with the same Dentist until last week when my crown came-out. Though, it was just a cleaning it was not a pleasant experience for it was a long wait, very rough & to my surprise I was being charged of $30 for fluoride. Last week, I walked in for my crown came-out. Came to find out that my Dentist was not working there anymore so I said thank goodness. I was told to come back after one hour to be accommodated. I got my appt., X-rays were done & met this young Pinay dentist a newly graduate. She told me that I needed a filling & a new crown. It took more than 1 hour just to present to me the paper work that I needed to sign & paid almost $500 before they start the work. I explained to them that besides my Primary insurance that I have a Piggyback that covers the remaining balance of the Primary Insurance . First billing representative didn't make sense until I spoke to the Manager. He assures me that they will reimburse me as soon as they heard from my insurance. I was close of walking out but I already waited for more than one hour. Next, I requested a gold crown like my other crowns but Dr. Gabi, as what they call her insisted that the porcelain is better without any explanation. She just says, "It depends of what you like." I was discouraged so I went a long with the Porcelain. They used my old crown as my temporary but let me tell as they started the filling Dr. Gabi was a woman of few words. Doing procedures without any warning & very rough. Her assistant was even worst for water was coming out of my mouth & I had to stopped them for I'm swallowing so much water that I feel like I'm drowning. Then they got offended when I told them how I feel. Her assistant became smart mouth at me & saying, " Well do you wanna walk-around with stuff in your mouth." That did it & got up requesting for a new Dentist from the receptionist. Only to be told I can't that they have to start all over again to be seen by the other Dentist they have in their clinic. By the time I left the place it was a total of 3hrs. !!! Yesterday, I came back for my permanent crown & did a lot of prayer. Placed an earphone with a soothing Christian music. And the only made a difference was Ms. Fabiola Gutierrez, who was the assistant & great customer service. My permanent crown was perfect & left the place after half hour. #ThankULord read more
