Every response I received felt like they were handling a project for the first time--there was no continuity or ownership. They kept coming back with additional costs for PG&E fees, a main panel upgrade, and other unexpected charges, causing constant back-and-forth and frustration. This team has got customer service figured out. For you shoppers out there, shopping solar panels here is like shopping at Nordstrom (when they are on sale and prices are reasonable). From first reach out to installation to post-install follow-ups, they have thought of the whole life cycle and ensure their customers are taken care of. Adrian Ybarra was our account manager, and he is knowledgeable, patient, transparent and responsive. I am fairly knowledgeable with the renewable energy space and solar panel is now a commodity. Most customers should not have to be picking one solar tech company from another, they are all about the same! The difference is ongoing customer service, long term warranty and some differential services. In this case, the combination of Sunpower panels (leading, public solar company) and Solar Bill Review (good service, attentive local company) is a winner team. On top of all this, their pricing is fairly reasonable too. I would highly recommend this company if you are considering adding solar to your roof (and you should as you get 30% of your investment back in tax credit in 2022). Wrote this last summer on Google (July 2021 but forgot to post on Yelp): Bill is awesome! He is super responsive and so passionate about his craft. I've been a customer of his for a year and have always been impressed by his responsiveness, passion, and enthusiasm. At first I was going to with another company but I was totally sold with the reliability, durability, and affordability of the panels. After a year, my True Up will be around $50 so I'm super happy with its performance so far. Crew is clean and fast. 5/9/22 update. Over and above beyond excellent. Bill just took an hour and 20 minutes out of his day to help me with PG&E's criminal "forced" true up charge of $250 for switching over to EBCE's cheaper grid (1% less than PG&E). We first talked to EBCE and when they couldn't help, we talked to a PG&E rep and then the supervisor. After advocating for me and after the supervisor refused to help, Bill floored me by offering to pay out the $250 charge FOR me. Who does this?! He is over and above the best rep I believe you can find for Solar. Highly, highly recommend. Beyond excellent customer service. Amazing how calm he stayed with the PG&E supervisor (they are SO criminal!...there is NO warning on either EBCE's or PG&E's website of "forced" true ups!). Some guy from here hopped on my property over my retaining wall. Dipshit almost fell off it got it on camera pretty funny watch...but back to it he clearly was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be and then knocked away for 5 minutes before dropping his trash flyer on my doorstep then forcing my closed gate open to avoid the wall a second time. If this shit happens again it won't be well received and they won't respond to emails so let's see how this goes! Also solar isn't green like people say and think it takes more then sand to make the panels they don't last that long and they are hazardous waste once the short lifespan is over. Going with Solar Bill Review (SBR) was the best decision I made. I did a lot of research and price comparisons with different solar companies (some SunPower and some not) and found SBR to be the best price and SunPower the best brand (solar productivity and efficiency) to go with. If you want someone to answer any solar questions and explain the process including pros of SunPower, Jon is your man. He is patient and answered all my questions throughout the process. I like that SunPower is a one stop shop and all their products from the inverters to solar panels are SunPower brand and backed by their 25 year warranty. If something goes wrong I can go straight to SunPower rather than figuring out if the manufacture of the solar panels or the inverter is at fault. SBR holds your hand throughout the pre install, installation, and permission to operate process. They emailed me often to keep me in the loop of the progress and timing of each stage. Shalyn is the best road warrior! She came to visit in person to provide paperwork and make sure each stage of the process went smoothly. Shalyn even brought small treats like cookies, chocolates, and SBR swag during her visits. During this age of non contact digital world, SBR was the complete opposite. I felt like they were there every step of the way as my advocate/middle man between SunPower and myself to get my system installed and up and running ASAP. I am very happy with my experience with SBR that I also convinced my mom and other neighbors to go solar with them. They have a great referral program that rewards you for getting others to join the SBR/SunPower family. My block is now a SBR monopoly with 4 other homes signing with SBR too. My interaction was brief and unfortunate. I've been looking for solar quotes to have an off the grid system installed. They were the first to tell me it can't be done. And while I may not have liked to hear that, what was unfortunate is I had a meeting scheduled and I just got a short email saying I can't help you, canceling our meeting, peace out. They didn't leave space for questions or further explanations or even additional options. That was it, and transaction closed just like that. I'm sure they are a great partnerduring installation, but their break up skills need some work. - Update (2019 NOV 15) Had a follow up discussion with their management after they reached out to get my feedback. It was a friendly conversation about learning experiences on both ends and a policy change to help improve communication on their end. We bought solar from Solar Bill Review in late 2019 and added a battery in 2021. We wanted Sunpower. The unique thing about them is that they are solar specialists who design and sell you your system. Then they hook you up with the ideal installation company for your project. They vet their installation companies carefully to find the best ones. This is different than just calling a roofing company that sells solar and working with them. Solar Bill Review is an Elite Dealer for SunPower who provides you an opportunity to go over your true-up with them and help decide what the best rate plan is for you. Frankly, I never bothered with this for the first 4 years because the system was so well-designed that we always came out plus or minus around $100 on our true-up, so there was nothing worth speaking about. About a year ago; we bought an EV and had a high-speed charger installed. I did notice this used a lot of electricity in my Sunpower app. It seemed that as recently as September, when I looked at my PGE electric usage detail statement; that we running about even as far as our total usage. Then the winter season hit. Our true-up bill just arrived in mid-February. Our True-up was $720! I decided we had to explore different PGE rate plan options. I spoke to PGE solar customer service and they were helpful. I decided to also speak to Solar Bill Review, since they offer the service of helping you evaluate your bill. Within 24 hours, I had a Zoom with Bill, the owner. We spent about a half hour going over everything from different PGE rate options, to evaluating my PGE usage, how my solar produces, and best way to set my battery. We learned it will save us more with the recommendations made during our "solar bill review". We are going to switch to a different rate plan and I have no doubt that that we will save money. Since I am stuck with them they are taking full advantage of it. They quoted me outrageous price in comparison to original installation price.
