Our group was a foursome with two spectators, one of which was my 8 year old. We were told we could only have two carts because they were too busy to allow a third cart. So my daughter and didn't go and waited four hours. Meanwhile, we saw multiple groups of two with two carts, and foursomes with three carts! They had dozens of free carts to boot. Enjoyed this course! We played on a busy Saturday, and while the round took 4:40, we didn't spend too much time on the tee-boxes. The Silver course was in pretty good shape, and the greens were well maintained. Almost no trees, which I won't complain about, but some shade around the tee-boxes would be nice. Only negative was no drinking water on the course, and the only restroom was on the back 9 (co-located with a snack bar -- that was shuttered). Lastly, soil & seed receptacles on the carts were empty. Odd. Overall, a fun course and we'd come back!! Cheers! RS read more

The most overrated golf course experience. The course is NOT in good condition, the driving range is nothing but divots, the sand traps are unkept, the pro shop staff are terrible and NOT customer trained, they often struggle with their computer system, the restaurant has poor food and service. This course only survives because there are few options for public play. The park service needs to turn this over to someone who knows golf, clean house of poor staff and improve the overall experience. read more

Just played the gold course at Soldier Hollow and I must say it is a gem of a course. In terms of difficulty it is probably more difficult than the average public course. The one complaint I have, (which is getting too common) are the pin locations. These greens are hard and faster than average yet half the pins were 8 to 10 feet from the edge on difficult slopes. A ten foot birdie turns into a 3 put bogey or a chip shot. Maybe the greenskeeper was beat up in high school by a bunch of golfers and is compensating?? I don't know, but I wasn't amused. read more

I had an amazing time at this golf course. Be careful as there are narrow fairways and lots of sand bunkers. The main reason for this review: I golfed on the gold yesterday afternoon. When I got home after, I realized I left my AirPods in one of the carts. I called the course and they informed me they would look for them. After about 30 minutes they told me that they had found them. They took my information down and I picked them up today. Grateful that they have an honest staff up there! read more

Came for the Nordic Center. I have my own classic skis so all I had to pay was the pass just $10. Pros about skiing here: mostly groomed trails ( not all were ready by 9:30 AM), affordable for a resort, and pretty views. Cons about skiing here: No dogs allowed, a bit of a drive if you are coming from SLC, & mostly man-made snow due to the low elevation. Would I come back? Probably not simply because I can't bring my dog but I'm glad I skied it once. read more

Beautiful public mountainside golf course at a great price. The Gold course is in sold shape from tee to green. They do require you to ride in a cart. Some weeds in the sand traps, but otherwise, when I played in May 2022, the course was in great shape. read more

They schedule tee times 5 minutes apart, which means that there's always someone right behind you and right in front of you. We found ourselves waiting 15-30 minutes just to tee off on some holes. All in all would not recommend. read more

My buddies and I have played this course three times, and have had consistently good experiences here. I really like the Gold course, but the Silver is a nice add-on if you're up for 36. There are some really nice views, and the grass is well maintained. I think it was only $55 when we played last week, and I've paid a lot more for lower-quality courses. My family went to Soldier Hollow this week for an annual golfing trip. We have been golfing together for 30 years all over the country, and I have never had an experience like this in all those years. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior from staff. We brought a family member (age 16) with us for his very first golfing experience, hoping to make a memorable day for him. Naturally, being his first time he was struggling and we were moving slowly but taking the time to enjoy the views and chat. When groups would catch up to us we would let them play through. We were on a green and the newbie was about to sink a put when the Course Marshall, Chuck, drove up and yelled from his cart for us to "PICK IT UP!". We assumed he meant to pick up the pace of our game, even though the party behind us was still in the fairway of the previous hole and we weren't holding anyone up. "PICK IT UP!!!", He screamed this time, "PICK UP THE BALL, YOU'RE DONE!" We stood looking dumbfounded at him but he continued to scream at us to pick up our balls and move on. My nephew never got to finish the hole and Chuck continued to berate us for being too slow. Not once did he show any modicum of professionalism or attempt to speak to us with anything but yelling and screaming. He then proceeded to follow directly behind us, but far enough away that we couldn't speak to him, for the next 5 holes. One of our party went to the clubhouse to discuss the issue with management but was met with the same angry, dismissive attitude that Chuck had. Chuck left after following us, but when we were putting on the 18th hole, he again drove up, this time ONTO THE GREEN, and sat in his cart watching us as we finished. When we were done and getting into our carts he drove up to the cart with the newbie and AGAIN berated them for playing too slowly. At this point we were fed up and told Chuck we were sick of him harassing us and he had completely ruined our experience. He told us we were no longer welcome at Soldier Hollow and drove off. When we got back to the clubhouse a couple of us went inside, irate at this point that we had been treated so poorly, to complain. Chuck and the Manager (we never did get his name) were inside and the moment we opened our mouths to tell them how upset we were Chuck told us they have rules on the course and if we couldn't keep them, they would call the Sheriff on us. We let them know that their lack of professionalism was appaling for a service-oriented business like golf. The Manager chimed in and told us he was going to call the Sheriff that moment if we didn't leave the property. Needless to say, we will go back to playing other courses in Utah where we have never had any problems. If you play at Soldier Hollow, pray that you don't encounter these staff members. read more

I purchased four passes through a silent auction 12 weeks before the pandemic hit and haven't been able to use them this year due to wanting to isolate They said they would not extend the expirations date because they have been open. The person I spoke with was quite abrupt and said he wouldn't consider an extension. All I'm asking for is a little compromise since these are difficult times and I'm in the high risk group for the covid. I asked if they would consider extending the expiration 12 weeks into the year when they might be reopened after the winter but it seemed to be unreasonable to them. read more

Soldier Hollow is truly outstanding! I think some people think that because it is in the mountains it is going to be full of trees and tons of lakes etc. On the contrary the course is a true links style course. I prefer the silver course which is lower on the mountain and not as steep. The gold course is fun and has some great views and great elevation changes. They keep the course in great shape. One thing that I have noticed is that they have great tee boxes. I believe you can play from 5 different tees if you want and they are quite flat. The views are great from every hole. You will usually see wildlife while you play. One of my favorite courses to play in Utah. read more

This is the worst course I have ever played. There are almost no trees/shade. They managed to take one of the most beautiful landscapes and make an absolutely hideous course. The course itself looked like it would play decently enough, but it was awful. The first cut of rough was over 4 inches tall. I literally lost 5 balls that I watched bounce on the fairway. The second cut of grass is 8-12 inches tall. There wasn't even a point in looking for your ball at that point. If you are in Midway play at Wasatch. Same price and it is the most beautiful course I have ever been to. Save yourself the frustration and don't play here. read more

I cannot believe the lack of customer service or even tact at this place! If you are thinking of going golfing here, I would keep looking. The employees at the golf shack were rude, and seemed to treat us as if we were a burden, but that was not the worst part. Golfing on the course felt like a prison camp. We had a few encounters from their "marshal" where we were yelled at for being slow, even though we couldn't see anyone that we were holding up. It felt like we were getting in trouble by a high school gym teacher! We had taken our grandfather out golfing, so he was a bit slower. Then to make things worse, at the end of our last hole, he came and chased us down to yell at us for not having our carts back 10 minutes ago. I cannot believe the lack of professionalism. We regret spending over a hundred dollars to golf, leaving with only bad memories. They should be ashamed for how they are running this place, and Chuck the marshal should never be allowed to work with customers. read more

Vacationing in Park City, we played this links course in nearby Midway. Reservations were via their website and were a piece of cake to make. Reasonable rates, the Gold Course is more difficult. We chose the Silver, as we had a couple of relative beginners. Great layout, many carries over and around waste areas, barrancas, and water. Nary a level piece of real estate except the tee boxes, so you must be comfortable with uneven lies. Stay in the fairway, or the thick rough will cost you. There aren't any trees, so make sure you hydrate and hit em straight! The restaurant has a BBQ Beef and fries special that is excellent. The fries and meat are homemade. Go for it. All putts roll to the valley, and primo views. read more

Soldier Hollow Bar & Grill/Country Club While I note almost all posts here refer to the golf course, I want to put in a word for the excellent venue, food and service as experienced by my family and 125 guests on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 in the Club House. Rob and his staff did an extraordinary job in catering to my daughter's wedding. They worked with the families and made everything so stress free - for an event that comes with plenty of stress. The food was great, the staff were great and the whole evening went without a hitch. What fun and what memories with such beautiful views. The wedding ceremony was held on the balcony and the meal, dancing and entertainment inside. We had people arrive from all over the country. They were amazed at the location and facilities. I'm pretty terrible at golf,. And I'm not just saying that. I play a handful of times per year, which is not enough to improve. But no matter your skill level, it is a great game. What's not to like about getting outside on a beautiful day with friends, having a couple beers, and hitting a tiny ball around with sticks? Soldier Hollow is a great course. Long, open, challenging, and beautiful. The variation between holes is very fun and I found myself improving after #3 once I started listening to some pointers. There is quite a bit of sand, but not a ton of water, which was good for me as the hazards seem to be the magnets to my metal balls. Overall we had a great time playing this fantastic course and I look forward to playing the second of the two courses some day. read more

I've only played the Mountain Course, 18 of the 36 holes. Soldier Hollow is a good, fair course. It was well designed and upkept. It has very few trees, and is a very young course. One of my favorites things about Soldier Hollow and other courses in the Midway area is that they are never nearly as busy as are the courses in Utah County. read more

We (there were 3 of us, our 4th had to cancel last minute) played the gold course yesterday and sadly, I have to say that the overall experience was not a good one. While the course had some gorgeous views and was fun to play (very tough I might add) the staff and other patrons ruined our experience. The staff was very arrogant and rude at check in. While also found that other patrons out on the practice greens were no different. When we got started, we were put behind a 2 some. For some reason they added a single to our group. Behind us was another 2 some and behind them, another 2 some. I'm not sure why we got the single (he was a very nice gentleman btw). We let the first 2some play through and it wasn't long before the next 2some was behind us. We learned that there was 2 more 2 some behind those guys... What's with letting out 2somes all day, at such a packed Golf course??? That's terrible in my opinion and kills the pace of play. Best course I've been to all year hands down an a perfect course to end my 108 holes of golf in 5 days. Wide open fairways and forgiving green made this course great. My only knocks for this are course running out of hot dogs, no cart person to supply refreshments, and not being able to bring in outside drinks or food. I will come back for sure! read more
