When you walk in, the atmosphere is soothing and smells amazing. And Monique is warm and welcoming - it was my first time meeting her, yet she felt like an old friend. I never left a review at the time,…read morebut now that I'm going to get filler and have to have everything dissolved and redone since it was so poorly placed and overfilled- Im more than a little annoyed and deciding to do so. The injector I went to ended up totally botching and unevenly placing my lip filler here. I reminded her multiple times at the consult that I didn't want the keyhole look because I saw she did that with some clients- she still gave me a keyhole (lol). Also, the top lip was bigger than the bottom and wayyy too much filler was placed on one side, so it was bigger than the other side and lumpy. She said this is how her clients "naturally swell" because of the technique she uses, and to give it a few weeks. After a few weeks, you can see in the picture that the upper left side on my lip was obviously still bigger than the right side. I went back to have it fixed and she ended up having to put more filler in the other side of my lip to even it out (yes I paid for another syringe to do this). When I mentioned how the top lip was still bigger than the bottom lip, she said that we would wait to put more in the bottom lip because she thought the top lip would even out to be proportionate as the swelling subsided (I still had half a syringe left). After a couple more weeks, I called to confirm that I wanted to come in and use the last half of my syringe that I had remaining to fill out the bottom lip to make it even since it was in fact NOT proportionate. The front desk told me that I had no remaining filler left. I reached out to the injector directly about this since she said I could come back, and she ignored me (lol). I don't mind that she messed up, we're all human and that's going to happen. I just didn't care for how instead of owning up to it, she kept gaslighting me saying it wasn't messed up and that it "looked good" and then acted like I was an inconvenience for coming in to get it fixed. Never once did I act rude or upset, and I tipped every time I went for injections and to get it fixed. (This is the first medspa that has also ever asked me to tip for Injectables). Overall, vibes were not good here and I would avoid if you're expecting professional & reliable treatment

I did not want to write a bad review, but the treatment I have received left me no choice: Hello, why did you let me leave unhappy when you promised me that you would not do so. I have never been to a spa that did not make any adjustments ever. This is why customers are always given a two week return appointment. You chose to do filler and botox on my lower face. I never asked for it. Then you just let me walk out of your establishment unhappy, this is so very wrong. I gave you almost $2,500, and you just basically let me leave unhappy. I told you the other day I wanted to cry because my friend asked me what was wrong with my face. I can't believe this has happened, with tears rolling down my face I would like to make a complaint about my experience there to the owner, please. I chose this spa, it was near my home and they had a same day availability for me as I was attending a party later that evening and I sincerely wanted some filler and botex. When I arrived I stated I wanted filler in my cheeks and botox in my forehead, 11 lines, and crow's feet. I wanted filler in my cheeks. It was suggested that I should get both in my chin, and the lower sides of my face, I shared I had never had any injections on the lower of my face. I did want botox under my chin for my turkey neck but was told it would not help. I also wanted some injections in my lips but was told they would be bruised and possibly be noticeable at the party I was to attend, so it was suggested to get a lip flip. I never heard of it but I was good with that. In the end my bill was close to $2,500. I had no intention of spending this kind of money, but if it was going to make me look beautiful it would be worth it. I wasn't 100% pleased, but I was hoping that in a few days I would receive more satisfaction in my face. I was told to return in a couple of weeks for the final consultation to see if any adjustments were needed, she did not tell me this but I have been getting injections for over10 years and this is the procedure for every spa I've gone to. A few days ago, I called to complain about wrinkles on both sides of my mouth. I was told to send pictures, and was told it was because of the lip flip to give it more days. A couple of days later I received a call to come in. I went to the appointment this evening, and for over 30 minutes I was told over and over and shown a chart over and over of how little filler I actually received and that I needed more but she was trying to save me money. She acknowledged the wrinkles but said nothing can be done and the botox had to run its course,, in about 4 - 6 weeks. I said I had rather purchased more filler than had the suggested filler and botox placed in my chin. She explained that she did not want to give me more filler in my cheeks because I would have too much swelling, and needed to wait until later. I again said I didn't ask for the lower injections, that I was not the expert, I was just going with what was suggested to me. I knew by now that I was not going to get any adjustments unless I paid more, why should I do this when I was not happy with the outcome of the money I had already spent. She finally said I could put some more botox in the jawline but your neck is going to seem like its pulling. I said we have to do something, she then said it was no guarantee that it would help. No matter what she was not going to make any free adjustments, especially when it came to the filler. I just wanted her to really care. She promised me on the phone that she would not leave me hanging, that she wanted me to be happy, but in the end she didn't care. I am extremely upset. This is bad business. I can't get this terrible treatment out of my mind. To be honest, the reason why it hurts so incredibly badly is because my aunt just passed and left me money and this is what I wanted to do with some on it. I feel so very badly

I think their prices are extremely reasonable for consistently good services. Last weekend I had a facial, manicure and pedicure. I had Lena for my facial and she is thorough! She is now intimately acquainted with every single one of my pores. Luda did my manicure and pedicure, and she did a fantastic job. Maya is one of the few places that will use the razor on your feet without having to specifically request it. (Once, they did such a good job getting my feet smooth and clear of all dead skin, I actually slipped and fell when I got home because I had no dead skin traction!) I have tried so many places in the Detroit area and in Chicago and I've never had a better traditional mani/pedi than at Maya. They are always extremely thorough and their polish lasts longer than any other place I've been to. (They don't skimp on the top coat, which is my biggest salon pet peeve.) Beyond the excellent salon services, the staff is absolutely wonderful. As my mom has been a client for so long, the staff treat her (and me) amazingly well. They always know about what I've been doing in school my new job, etc. Likewise, my mom knows all about their kids and lives. It's a really wonderful atmosphere.
