My first private session wasn't too impressive, the teacher had pretty heavy accent, and she didn't care to explain what certain postures have effects on me and it just wasn't good. I changed my instructor for my second private session, and what a difference! My instructor, Regina, was very enthusiastic. She explained all postures, and for the ones that I couldn't do it in the perfect form, she helped me adjust. I didn't think my body would be sore after the class, but it is. So even though it seemed to be easy, it's not. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is due to price. I wanted to stick to private sessions because I can see myself not sticking to the form during group classes, which would defy the purpose of taking classes. But when I looked online, it's $90 per session! And that's not "senior" instructors either. I can use that one session's money and get another gym membership with my corporate discount. Decisions, decisions. Luckily they extended the same pricing offer as what's in Giltcity coupon, which lowered it to about $50 per session. I think I will take that for another 5 sessions. Then go back to my normal gym life...

Her pace is great and she offers modifications according to your level . I love her routines . It shows preparation and the use of different elements ( ball, bands, weights and box ) makes classes challenging and effective. I've definitely gotten stronger, more flexible and with better balance since starting at AVEA Pilates . Come try Reem's classes ! You won't be disappointed.

She asked me if I've ever done hot yoga before, I mentioned a few studios and she mentioned she's from Harlem and I was sharing my recent visit there and she recommended a few places to eat and drink. She is an aerial list and performs in Germany. one woman shared how she is from Germany and Angela offered to get her tickets to the show she performs in. she would walk through the class giving adjustments and making sure everyone is in the proper position and breathing correctly The studio is nice. They have showers and towels. I don't know if I saw any large shower towels so be prepared. You can also rent a sweat towel and a towel to put on your mat as well as a mat..for your first class you get towels and a mat for free, but after that you have to pay. I'm not sure how much it is. They seem to really want to build a community. I saw a board with the monthly challenge. There's also free weights not sure how those are used in class. My class was a lot of slow positions and holding them. Also at the end everyone gets a cold eucalyptus towel by their mat. I saw a locker room there's tampons, Q-tips and there are hair ties.

Equinox Park Avenue is probably my least favorite location…read more It's also one of the smallest Equinox locations I've been to, which makes the layout feel even more cramped. The entire gym is on the second floor everything. I usually stop by once or twice a week when I'm in the city after work, mostly because the classes are actually good. That said, the locker room setup is terrible. The lockers are incredibly narrow, and I genuinely don't understand how you're supposed to fit your clothes in there without cramming everything together especially if you also have shoes or a bag. There's barely any space. The locker area layout is also awkward. There isn't enough room to comfortably change without people crowding around you or standing right there scrolling on their phones. It feels tight and poorly thought out. I can't speak for what it's like earlier in the day, but between 5:30-6:30pm it's the worst time to go. Everyone getting off work seems to land there at the same time, and the space just doesn't handle that kind of volume well. Honestly, the classes are the only reason I stop by occasionally. Otherwise, this location wouldn't be one I'd choose to visit.

After a prolonged period of exercise hibernation due to surgery and work, this fattie decided to…read morethrow herself head first into a new class to get her body together... and that new class happened to be SLT! (yeah at first glance I thought it was spelling something else too... whoops) SLT stands for "Strengthen Lengthen Tone" and focuses on making your body do those tiny quiver and shakes that really activate your slow twitch fibers. This class is great for those of us that need that harder something extra to get our tummy muscles (as well as every last effing muscle strand in our body) stronger and tighter. The teachers know what they're doing and I love that they come around to make sure we are doing proper form to help prevent injury. I am five classes in at this point in time and even though I still suck, I'm starting to notice I suck just a tiny bit little less each time. One of my favorite things about this class is that you can buy packages of classes and you just need to use them up within a certain amount of time. You can make your own schedule (depending on availability) online and their website makes it so easy to book or cancel. With classes maxing out at 11 people in most cases, you will need to plan ahead but it's not that hard at all. All classes for the following month will open up for reservations on the 15th of the month before. For example, for June classes I will have to really be on top of my schedule on May 15th to get the classes I want since they have high traffic. Now I admit, I've never done any kind of specialized Pilates-reformer-thingamajiggy type class before so when I first walked into the studio, I thought I was entering Christian Grey's fun room. I mean, come on... crazy bed-like devices with springs attached and straps for your wrists and ankles?? Whose mind wouldn't go there? Oh... wait... I'm the only one? Alright then, good to know. They have a changing room, hair ties, and bathrooms stocked with essentials like facial wash. Class sign-ups are easy and done through the app. If you drive, parkings in front of the studio are usually available during Sundays. Highly recommend it! It's a great studio if you want to feel the burn. My only suggestion would be to make the shoe policy more consistent. Clients are encouraged to enter the room either barefoot or wearing grip socks, but instructors are allowed to wear outside shoes in the same space. I feel this is inconsistent and not the most sanitary.

The front desk, lockers, and showers are on the 3rd floor, where they provide you with a bath towel if needed. There are only 3 showers and 2 bathrooms, so expect to wait. The showers and locker area are co-ed, so be sure to change in the shower room before coming out. There's an open vanity area by the lockers to get ready afterwards. The studio is upstairs, where phones aren't allowed, since it's a heated room. Thankfully, the room isn't as hot as some other heated studios I've been to. Mat + towel combo for rental is $9, but the fee is waived if it's your first class. Before you enter the heated room, you're instructed to take a set of 3lb weights, a resistance band, and ankle weights. Depending on the class, you'll also take a yoga block. Their Sculpt class has a short stretch portion for cool down and no cardio (like CorePower). Only downside I'd say is that there are no mirrors to check your form and they turn off the lights in the class, but that's their brand. Overall, I had a good sweat + would return for another heated sculpt class!

I clicked on that link and was taken to a dedicated account page where I was able to cancel my subscription. But you should be able to access your account from the main online subscription page. That you are not able to is deliberate. That no one responded to my emails or helped me navigate to cancelling my subscription is also deliberate. This is a deceptive scheme--SCAM--to continue to take money from people for as long as they can. If I had not found that email buried in my inbox I would still be trying to get them to help me.
