I'm warning you now…read more Elaine was a neighbor of mine who volunteered to help me with a loan modification on my home after I had tried unsuccessfully for 2.5 years on my own with no luck (sound familiar?). After explaining to her my situation, she agreed to help me and sounded confident that she could get my loan modified. I agreed to pay her an upfront fee of $1,750 (1/2 her fee of $3,500). After over a year working with her, I had not one piece of paper or proof showing that anything had been done to modify my home loan. When I was able to communicate with her (via text most of the time), she would tell me that things were moving along and that I would have an answer shortly. Right! Elaine is very hard to get in touch with, because she hardly answers her phone. Also, it may take two or three days for her to respond to your inquiry. In the end, nothing was accomplished, and I had to short sell my home. Thank you, Elaine! By the way, she also volunteered to help friends (also neighbors) with their loan modification. Again, she took their money and did NOTHING. In the end, they also lost their home to short sale. The above is about the nicest I can say about Elaine. Stay far, far away from her!

After a few months not hearing from her I called her and she gave me the same - "I'm waiting on the bank" deal. Time kept moving and one day I could no longer reach her. I found out later she was no longer at the location where I had contact with her. I know of others who had the same experience with her and the question is "Where is Elaine Locke???"
