Came here for the cinnamon buns as this place was on my list for YEARS! I was surprised to see the variety they had there. I went for the cinnamon bun with cream cheese on the side and a mini lemon pound cake. I was quite disappointed with the cinnamon bun. It was hard and quite thin compared to the ones I've had at other places. It was too sticky and chewy for my taste and I don't think the cream cheese elevated it, other than adding extra moisture. The only item that saved my review from going lower is the mini lemon pound cake. I thought it was well made and really cute! The lemon icing is so good and compliments and pound cake well. Not too sweet! I want to give the bagels a try one day and see if it can help boost my review.

A good place for a quick brunch! They are never stingy with their cream cheese and their bakery goods are quite unique. However, their latkas were soggy and didn't have the same crispy-ness they use to have before. Their cheese melt made the bagel a little soggy.

One of the best bagels in town. Definitely best Babkas. Their salmon egg breakfast bagel is da bomb. I would eat here everyday if I could. The 7th ave location is big. The one on main is tiny and rude staff. I would love to try every single item on their menu.

This review reflects a first and one time experience. I was surprised to read so many reviews stating unprofessional/abusive behaviour of the owner toward staff. I didn't see or experience any of that. On the contrary the staff behind the counter were all calm, collected and attending to their work and when the owner did come out she seemed chill and friendly. I'm not saying that's the way it always is, but I didn't experience any unprofessional demeanor from the owner. The Lox Bagel was fresh, well put together and tasty. I also love the amount of Israeli items they have that are imported. I was looking for a kosher deli and finally I found one in Vancouver. Their lunch items are plenty and so are their breakfast items. definitely going back to try their other items on the menu!

Nice atmosphere, coffee is good and the cinnamon rolls are great. Fantastic place to warm up and catch up on your reading

Worst customer service ever! A cappuccino took nearly 25mins from order to pick up. Extremely slow workers! Look at the sign, that wasn't the line up for ordering food, ppl stand there for nothing. So confused!

My latest favorite is the lemon scroll. The ambiance is mostly take out since seating is limited at the Fir St location and there is no seating at their downtown bakery cafe. Coffee and tea selections available. Price is reasonable for the excellent quality and the generous size of some of their pastries. Their goodies sell out fast at the downtown location. Curry fish ball focaccia was a very unique item. The focaccia dough had very chewy and soft texture, curry flavor was strong which I really liked. Fish ball was decent and surprisingly paired with this focaccia dough and gruyere cheese on top. I really liked this item. Egg tart was decent. Pastry dough was flaky and large, custard and sesame rice ball filling provided chewy mochi texture. I liked this item, too. They always offer very creative and unique flavor's combination. Especially Asian heritage month items were worth trying.

It was a huge hit with everyone! The 6 inch cake was $69 and I added a customized birthday message on chocolate for an extra $3 which was a nice personal touch. They also offer a gluten free option for an additional $10 which is great for accommodating different dietary needs. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to order online well in advance because their cakes sell out quickly. I can definitely see why. They're fantastic! I'll be ordering from Gary's Patisserie again for future celebrations.

Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

As I love desserts, I was so excited to see Chinatown and visit this place for the first time. This place was located in an area that would be best to walk with a friend or a small group- I was not quite prepared to see and experience what was going on all around. Finally, we made it there and were glad to order some doughnuts. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the sweet smell of doughnuts and the two friendly staff. Everything looked so good, so narrowing down our pick was very hard! At the end, we ordered two flavours- Matcha and Tiramisu. The matcha doughnut was soft and the filling was light yet full of matcha flavour that one would expect, I loved every bite! My friend had the tiramisu doughnut and she said that she enjoyed the fluffy texture of the dough and the creamy filling- it felt like eating tiramisu in a doughnut form. Well it seems ownership has changed and the new owner doesn't give two craps about prior customers, honoring discounts, replying back timely or being more friendly? Was playing email tag and finally submitted the 39 flavors and didn't hear back until after another week and then told they won't deliver only in morning when they know our reservation was for 730pm and they're open until 9? I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better! Go to Mello which isn't too far and they bake fresh daily better pricing and reviews and consistency!
