I was visiting with my partner on vacation. We were really craving bagels for our road trip. I think the bagels were just okay nothing special and on the smaller side considering they are speciality bagels! Service was fast and easy.

We stopped by to check out the place and left with a couple of dozens of everything bagels! They are very tasty, crispy on the outside and chewy inside. The gentleman working there was very nice too.

Hastings Sunrise. Very good, perfect size for me...but can understand some people complaining there isn't enough meat on there. Plus, the bagels are on the smaller side. I highly recommend trying this on a Rosemary Rocksalt bagel.

Good but nothing to write home about for the cost. Extra star because I appreciate the gluten free and vegan options.

    Steveston Bagel

I absolutely LOVE this place, the Steveston bagel is my go to and the service is always excellent. It has a bathroom, great drinks, awesome seating area selection and always nearby parking. The only reason I don't give five stars is because it's a treat! Meaning it it's a little out of my budget for a bagel. But well worth the money when I do decide to treat myself.

Visiting Vancouver and thought I would give this place a try as I absolutely love bagels. This is why my score is only 2. The cafe itself was clean, organized and the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu has great variety for us bagel snobs and the price range is fair. It's not cheap but it's not expensive either. I decided to try their WHISTLER Breakfast Bagel on the Rosemary Rock Salt Bagel, which is their trademark. The packaging was very tasteful and the branding absolutely dead on and the ingredients were fresh. However, a couple of bites into the bagel I quickly realized that the bagel was completely RAW on the inside. It was difficult at first to see and taste, because it's covered with cream cheese, but nevertheless, the texture and taste of RAW DOUGH presented itself, and as I scraped off the cream cheese it was apparent that this bagel was completely undercooked. In food, raw dough whether it's a pizza or any other pastry....is a huge disappointment....not to mention risks of digestive issues. You're on the right track Rosemary Rocksalt......just give your bagels a little more time in the oven!

I ended up here since I knew I was going to be in the area again. A quick peek on Yelp and I knew this was a place to check out. It did not disappoint. A comment before I continue. I am not a smoked meat expert. This will be the third time that I've had Montreal smoked meat. At this point in time, I can't say that I'm a huge fan of it since I've yet to find one that wows me. No exception here. However, of the ones I've tried so far, this is the best. Decent flavours and a good amount of fat for moistness. That said, the bagels are excellent. I came in and wanted something simple. Smoked meat on whole wheat, and smoked meat on rosemary rock salt. The whole wheat bagel was not bad. Good texture with a bit of a chew but not too chewy. The rosemary rock salt was something else. This was a winner in terms of taste and flavours. This took the smoked meat to another level. In fact, I end up getting a third bagel. Smoked meat with jalapeno and cheddar on a rosemary rock bagel. This hit everything out of the park. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavour combination on this one. I understand that there is now a location on Main and Broadway. Good, because that's where I'll be headed for my fix.

This is well worth a stop if you like bagels and Montreal smoked beef. They also offer other meat and veggie choices, but I get excited when I find a place that does Montreal smoked beef well. It tasted authentic, they serve up a good amount and put it on a fresh bagel. You can choose from a wide variety of bagels that are freshly baked in house. It's a nice gem in the neighborhood.

SO GOOD. Very clean inside and super friendly staff working. Food is amazing. Highly recommend.

Breakfast sandwich. Rosemary Rock Salt bagel with Montreal Smoked Meat, egg, and cheese. It was great!

What an impressive experience. They have multiple locations and I hope the food and service are as good there as it was here. We have lots of bagel places back home in Chicago. What we don't have is a bagel place that makes a rosemary rock salt bagel. I picked the rosemary as the bagel for my breakfast sandwich and was not disappointed. Full of flavor and just enough salt. The smoked meat seems to be a flavorful tender cut of beef brisket. Watching the employees boil the bagels, put them in wood planks, season them, and slide them in to the oven was pretty cool. The bagels remain on the plank until they come out of the oven and are placed in cooling crates. It's nice to see your food made fresh. The service was great too. All four employees were smiling and honestly friendly. They seemed to enjoy working together and it didn't seem like just a fake "thank you" at the end. One of the employees knew it was our first visit and even came over to see how we liked the bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The prices were a little high but seems to be the norm for this neighborhood. It also helped even though there is mostly just street parking we found a spot in the tiny lot behind the building. I'd happily return to this or any other Rosemary Rock Salt bagel shop.

A special kind of torture. One that includes memories of a past life of gluten consumption.

We arrived early yet the place was already full, vibrant energy throughout the cafe. The decor had lots of funky and antique items, which added to the relaxing theme. After waiting for about twenty minutes, it was our turn to sit down and eat good food! Our waitress was a friendly lady who welcomed us and brought water. After browsing the items on the menu, my friend chose The Tater Bowl and I picked Mushroom N' Ricotta Benedict. Finally, when our orders arrived, we were ready to eat! The portion was so generous and everything was cooked just right. We were so full at the end, so we didn't get a chance to try other items. The bowl was very hearty hott mess in a good way. Very filling, tasty with all the good bits of bacon, ham, sausage gravy all throughout. I had to take half home as it was a bit much for me. Wifeys Benny was decent, the hollandaise was more mayoee than regular hollandaise and there was a sweet drizzle on the eggs I personally was not a fan but I can see it's appeal to others. Serving size are very decent. Overall this location is good and we will visit again. Lovely servers, good food and atmosphere!

She didn't ask me to share it…read morewith her but simply made sure to stop eating after she had finished about half the dish. Much appreciated as this allowed me to order something different. I had The Classic which came with Eggs, mushroom & broccolini, potato rosti, baked beans, roasted tomato and housemade sourdough. We also ordered a Nutelle Hot Chocolate and Matcha Oat Latte. I loved The Classic. While I do enjoy trying new things all the time, I think I'm a Classic girl at heart. I often fight the urge to order the tried and true for the sake of trying new things, but I'm ever so happy on those occasions where I give in and order something more Classic. Baked beans and toast remind me of family trips to England. Havn't gone for one of those in years, but I do have some good memories of them. When they're on sale here, we sometimes like to buy cans of Heinz British style baked beans, and I sometimes make my own homemade version of baked beans to store in our freezer. I don't often see baked beans on brunch menus so this was a bit of a special occasion for me to be able to order something with baked beans for brunch. Personally, I would have preferred the beans to have been just a little bit softer. Nothing wrong with them. They were fully cooked but perhaps just a little bit firmer than I'd have liked. I prefer my beans very soft and I tend to be like that with a lot of foods in general. My hubby prefers his foods firmer, and I like my foods softer. It's a personal preference. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed this dish and am very likely to order it again sometime! Oh, the potato rosti in my dish was awesome as well. This meal was so filling though that I only ate one small corner of the potato rosti and then took the rest home to eat as I was very full already from everything else I had eaten from the plate.

We parked on a side street not too far away and noticed how friendly people were as we walked to the restaurant. Everyone said hello and smiled as we passed through. You certainly don't get that same experience in many other areas of the Lower Mainland. Because it was spur of the moment, we didn't have a reservation. We put our name down with the host and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. The restaurant was a little noisy but not overwhelmingly so. We both had coffee, which was really good. I should've asked what kind of coffee they serve because it's not very often the regular drip coffee is this good. I was having a hard time deciding between the Blvd Blackstone Benny with maple bacon and the Smokey Brisket Benny. I ended up choosing the latter with a side of avocado and my friend had the Huevos Rancheros - he added a side of fried potatoes when he saw how good they looked on my plate. I took one bite of the brisket and I was instantly so glad I chose it. The meat was so tender and flavourful and I didn't even need my knife to cut it. It was phenomenal. My eggs were overcooked but immediately replaced with new eggs when I mentioned it to the server. The replacements were soft with perfectly runny yolks. She also brought extra hollandaise sauce. My friend's meal looked amazing, in fact I now have to come back just so I can have this dish. I wasn't able to finish my meal so I boxed it up to finish later. I will definitely come back here to try more of the menu items, especially when the coffee is this good. Makes me wish I lived closer!
