CUSTOMERS BEWARE: I have a 2009 E350 sport that I switched all my bulbs to LED. I got them all working but when I was installing the last bulb on the driver side headloght the wires were stripped and must've made a short. They would work but flicker then headlights stopped working. Only the yellow fog lights worked. Fuses were good. I replaced the headlights And nothing. Turned out I needed to replace the SAM. Something I can DIY, but this would need programming from Mercedes tech after install, so a shop would need to do it. I got a quote of $1,000 to replace and program the SAM From Solo. They said this would fix my issue and my LED's would work. When I went to pickup the car they charged me $200 more claiming Mercedes tech price went up from when they quoted me. Whatever if they got them to work but they didn't. They only got my headlights to work with regular bulbs. They didn't even install bulbs correctly claiming they couldn't screw them in. They wanted to charge me extra to remove the bumper to install the bulbs. I was like no! You don't need to remove the bumper to install bulbs. Only to replace headlights do you need to remove the bumper. My blinkers didn't work. My yellow fog lights passenger side flickered. It took me 20mins to properly install the bulb In the parking lot at advance auto parts. Replaced the LED bulbs for the blinkers and fog lights with regular bulbs to get them to work. Basically I paid $1,200 to be back to square one doing half of the work myself. Now I have to find someone that knows that can get my LED bulbs to work. Their politeness and professionalism was deceitful. I felt taken advantage of and ripped off. Never again will I take my cars to them. Not to mention I let them know I live in Duluth and took it to their location in Gainesville an hour away. CISTOMERS BEWARE!!! read more

I brought my Porsche Panamera Turbo S to this location a couple of years ago when I noticed that my notification to add/change oil came on too frequently (800-1000 miles). The mechanics here said I had an oil leak, so I paid to get that fixed. But the issue persisted. I then had the oil level sensor replaced. Issue persisted. Then they replaced some other parts hoping it will resolve the issue. Things actually started to get worse- and fast! Went from seeing the alert every 800 or so miles to about 300, to 70, 50, then 25! I added oil as the alert told me to, and after driving just 25 miles, the alert came back on saying I needed more oil. I took the car to other shops that also could not figure out what the issue was, but no one checked the sensor because we all knew that it was already replaced so I was getting ready to spend yet another $700 for a shop to dig deeper to find the root cause when I decided enough was enough. I took a chance with a mechanic I met through a friend who barely spoke any English and did not have a professional luxury car repair setting, but I explained the issue and he drained the oil only to see the it was significantly overfilled! So he replaced the oil level sensor (despite my telling him it was already replaced by Solo MS). He said that the sensor was faulty. I have now driven nearly 2,000 miles and the alert has not come on yet and the oil level shows accurately. So I spent over $3,000 trying to figure out an issue that was resolved with a couple hundred $. I showed him the historical services on the car and he saw the Solo MS name and he told me to be very cautious because they have a reputation in the auto repair industry that they'll charge customers for services that never get performed or properly completed. At this point I would not be surprised if this happened because clearly the oil level sensor that was replaced either was not replaced, or replaced with a faulty one, or a used one, but either way, I spent a lot of money and time trusting that these people were doing their best to fix the issue, but I feel cheated, so unfortunately, I will not be returning to this shop for any of my vehicle needs. read more

Purchased a 2011 MINI for my daughter and took it to Solo in Gainesville. I asked for an assessment of the car generally. Phillip in the office was excellent in explaining what was checked and found. He also shared strategies for taking the best care of the car. They performed routine oil change, new brakes all the way around and replaced belt tensioner. Chris has me set up with an appointment the following morning and told me I would be the first car up on the list. David, the owner and Master Technician, is super knowledgeable and has been around these cars for a long time. As an out-of-towner, going with a shop as reputable as Solo is a given, but I would trust them 100% with all of my cars and wish that I had a shop like this to get work done on my car.
