I'm sure there are other convenience stores in Solvang, but this was the only one I saw in the downtown/old town area of the city, was close to our hotel, and it saved our bacon more than once during our trip! Convenient hours, a large collection of drinks, snacks, alcohol and grab-and-go meals and supplies, we probably visited at least four times during our two-day stay, to grab something we forgot, ran out of, or needed for the next leg of our impromptu road trip. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, as well. Perhaps its not the most elegantly laid out, or priced, but in a pinch, the Solvang Market & Deli had everything we needed, when we needed it. read more

This market was by my motel so I did go here a few times because it was convenient. Otherwise, for them, it's kind of a random location and out of the way with exception to the motels/hotels nearby. Good variety of choices, prices are OK, I just think for them a little bit more into town would be better for their business. Otherwise, great place to stop and go if needed. read more

In a fabulous little town surrounded by wonderful wineries! And they had NO local wine! Seriously? And only a fewwines cold. Had to buy cheap Barefoot white wine. Skip this place!!!! read more

We would only recommend since there wasn't much open after 8 pm today n town. Hubby and I were going to get liquor to make drinks in our room and prices were very high on almost everything. Needed makeup remover wipes and they had an off brand but priced at 16.99, too steep for us so we just bought a soda, chips, bean dip and two tiny liquor bottles and it was still around 32+ dollars. In Solvang, Santa Barbara, San Luis obispo a couple of days before and a day past the 4th of July. Very welcoming place,clean and convenient on the way to Goleta & Santa Barbara. Fine little market. I strolled in during a morning walk to buy some chips and water. Overall, well stocked and the employee was nice.

This place is a last resort. Seriously. Walk a mile and go elsewhere. In general, the place appears a little unkempt. It appears a bit dirty, the floor has uneven areas/potholes in places, and so forth. Prices are high. $6 for a half gallon of milk. But on top of all that, they don't care about customers. I came here to get milk for my daughter on 11/28/22 and purchased milk dated 12/8/22. Opened it up on 11/29/22 and it was already bad and curdled. I took it back and told them I had just purchased it the day before and showed them the date of 12/8/22. The cashier shrugged, looked at it, and said "yea, okay." I asked if they could swap it. He shrugged, looked at me blankly, and then rang me up for another $6 half gallon that I had pulled from the fridge in the hopes that they would allow me to swap the bad product they had sold me the day before. In short, I would advise others to stay away. This place is a poor representation of this nice little town. read more

Yikes, this place has gone really down hill. I've been shopping at Solvang Market for probably the past five years for water and other sundries while staying in Solvang. My past visit was abysmal. The store was dirty and the racks were barely stocked. I collected what I needed (about 10 items) and went to check out. Only after did I pay did the impersonal guy at the counter tell me I needed to buy a bag. What did he expect I was going to do, balance my 10 items on my head?!? I had to break a $20 bill for a 10 cent bag. I was beyond pissed. The cashier was rude, disheveled and overall, had zero professionalism. As convenient as it is to Hadsten House, I will never patron Solvang Market and Deli again. read more

Very convenient market with in walking distance from our hotel. It serves it purpose for tourist to pick up stuff they may have forgotten at home so expect to pay a little more. Justin P...Who cares if they have $5 minimum for credit cards. Buy a drink, snacks and lottery tickets and dont get your panties in a bunch. OK, let me start off by saying that this place does have a variety of goods a traveler could use as wells as the local. Being in the latter category I have often shopped here for liquor or assorted snacks. Their prices are much higher than your standard stop and shop but you pay for convenience I guess. Several times I have purchased candy bars here they were bad. I didn't bother to return them because it just wasn't worth the hassle. The main issue at this place is the fact THEY TRY TO CHARGE YOU A MINIMUM TO USE YOUR CREDIT CARD! this is against their cardholder agreement with Visa and Mastercard. I ran into this issue when trying to purchase an item for my wife which is under $5. I was told they wouldn't accept my card unless I purchased over $5. I spoke with the manager Kim over the phone and she proceeded to state that she loses money if it is under $5, blah, blah, blah. I have reported this business for violating their agreement. Quickest and closest stop to our hotel for some extra snacks. Not the best selection, but had basics that you might find at a 7/11...and frankly I wasn't looking for a gourmet market. Just a place to grab some cheese and crackers and last minute sun screen. Yes it might be a little pricier then most convenience stores but it's in a tourist town, to be expected. Super convenient to guests staying in the westside hotels of the village, the place is super huge if not a little creepy at night. Even though it's not open as late as Copenhagen Liquor (in the heart of Solvang), the workers are nicer, and it's cheaper. read more

Zero stars was my first choice. What a joke this place is. Do not waste your time at this market. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra time to another store. The clerk could not have been any more rude. What an ass clown. I asked him how his day was going, and he just looked at me stone faced. I then asked him a second time, so he would feel uncomfortable. His response..."uh, okay". ZERO people skills. None. Just so everyone knows who he is: white guy, 20-25, stringy greasy hair, chubby, and he will not say a word to you. Hey Mr. Personality, if you don't like doing what you're doing, get out of the market business and do something you like. Life is too short. We originally walked to this store to buy some eggs, which they didn't have. Fair enough, it was a small convenience store and they probably don't stock most grocery items. The reason I was so put off by this store was the clerk was VERY rude. On the walk to the store, my 5 year old daughter fell and scraped her knee. It wasn't horrible, but it was bleeding and needed to be cleaned up. We tried one of the city public restrooms, but they only had hand dryer and no paper towels. When we got to the store, I asked if we could use their restroom to clean up her wound. The clerk said they had no public restrooms. I asked if we could just get a wet paper towel clean up her scrape and the clerk actually ROLLED HER EYES at me even though I had showed her my daughters bloody leg. I bought a small first aide kit there out of necessity, but I will NEVER shop there again! read more

I shopped here twice because it was convenient. However, the items are totally overpriced. Something like double. The unbranded items are of poor quality. And the best part is that they don't believe in giving a bill. All they give is a printed paper without their name or address or tax details. Even the items are not listed. There is just a total of whatever u have to pay them. If you buy a lot of stuff then it is impossible to make out the price of each item. And they have all kinds of posters pasted at the billing counter. Totally avoidable place . read more
