They currently take online reservations only and they unlock the front door fifteen minutes before your start time, so take that into account. The strip mall they are in is extremely run down, but there is a nice bar next door to enjoy a celebratory drink when you're done.

The building may not seem like much on the outside but as the saying goes, it's what's on the inside that counts. The staff was friendly and helpful and the experience is worth every penny (we booked a private room). The decor of the room fit the puzzle perfectly and the authenticity was a little spooky (which was perfect), it wasn't cheesy looking but rather made you feel like it was all real. We chose the hardest room, the Vampires Lair. From the moment we stepped through the door our hearts were pumping, because like I said the setting was spot on. The quality of craftsmanship created a fully immersive atmosphere that added to the excitement. I couldn't believe how much team effort it took to do one of these but I will say, regardless of the group dynamic going in, this experience will force you to work well together (if you want to succeed). Sadly 2 people bailed last minute so we only had 4 people and despite failing (we didn't make it by 2 puzzles arggg) it was so much fun but here's a small tip, make sure you have at least 6 people. Tina greeted me at the door and when I told her I overpaid she did not offer to do anything. Then, after about 5 minutes in the room she pulled my daughter and her friends out because she overbooked the room. Her response: "I made a mistake, what do you want me to do about it". How about make it right? My daughter and her friends were very polite about it and moved as she demanded. The room they were put in was not prepared and they were constantly interrupted so the room could be fixed.

The lobby area is pretty spacious with comfortable couches, and the rooms were simple but immersive. We purposely chose two of the easier ones (The Antidote and Budapest Express), and both parties were able to escape, despite multi-tasking as parents. The Antidote might have been a bit TOO immersive as the older girls were scared. The staff was attentive with the clue giving & walked us through parts that were known to be difficult. Doors were unlocked the whole time in case young ones needed a potty break in between. It was great to find an activity that we could enjoy for ourselves and with kids! We did the Dragon Castle and in the first ten minutes there was a puzzle solution that is now #1 on my list of neat physical solutions to a puzzle! The rest of the room was excellent quality. The entire room sucked you into the theme very well. The quality of props, puzzle pieces, and decorations were fantastic. The pacing was just right, the puzzles were the perfect difficulty. We've all done a few here and there since then, and we still think that this place does a particularly good job. There's a good level of challenge, and they provide some pretty good backstory to go along with the room too. More recently, we went to try out their second room, The Estate, which has a story connected to the first room. It's a great theme and the decor was good. But it's clear the room has been around for awhile because everything is old and not everything worked seamlessly. Many of the puzzles involved pushing buttons that have been slammed on over and over again through repeated use. They failed to register so we had issues releasing the clue even though we were playing the game properly. Two of the games were like this which ate up so much time. They give unlimited clues which is great but their system sucked. They had no idea where we were in the escaping process and kept giving us clues we already solved. They can't hear us (or maybe they pretended not to) so it was one way communication. We would wave at the camera and it would take several minutes for someone to type in a clue. Again, so much wasted time. Overall, I would not recommend this place. There has to be better escape rooms in New Jersey right?
