My laptop gave me the blue screen of death out of nowhere after having it for only 15 months. The geeksquad charges a lot to diagnose. Plus u have to get up , go to best buy, and wait in line. Called these folks up after seeing all the positive reviews and they didnt disappoint. Later the same day, Billy came over to take a look at it. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He ran a diagnostic at my place and my harddrive was fried. So he took my laptop and external hd to try to get the data from it. Unfortunately, it was fried pretty badly, but they work with another company that specializes in data recovery. I had my important data backed up already, so i decided to get a new computer all together bc i compromised on the original one that fried out. Figured i would just get the one i really wanted. They recycled the old computer and returned my external hd the same day i made the decision. Throughout the process, i was completely informed of their progress via email. If i wanted to replace my hd and recover windows, i wouldve gladly given them my business. 1. I love that they have support specialists come to you, whether its work or home. It was so convenient for me to be able to coordinate with my schedule. 2. They really try their best to help you. While it was a bit tough to correspond just over email (they would be unresponsive at times until I followed up), I feel like that might have been solved if I just called. But when Billy came, he was very helpful, friendly, and proactive. 3. Affordable. While ultimately, my laptop had an issue that was not-so-simply fixable, if I had gotten it fixed, it would have been much more affordable than I expected. I was happy with the price. SolveMyPC was able to come to my office the next day. The technician was really friendly and easy going, and he was totally patient with my non-jargon explanation of the computer problems. I always feel intimidated to describe these things since I just don't have the vocabulary, but he was not judgmental at all about it. Contacted SolveMyPC regarding the loss of internet connectivity at home, which started from last night on and off. Spoke with Jimmy first this afternoon, and Christopher called shortly after. Christopher was very patient and professional, guiding me through the steps to troubleshoot the real problem. I am very impressed that though we were on the phone, he was able to clearly deliver instructions and gather information and feedbacks from me. The problem was temporarily solved at the time, and Christoper asked me to contact them if the issue comes back. They also sent me email confirmations. When I got back from home later this evening, the loss of connectivity came back. I did not bother them as it was too late, and suprisingly I solved it myself. The problem is caused by a driver update from windows. Overall, I enjoyed interacting with SolveMyPC and was impressed by their efficiency, professionalism, and expertise. This guy Chris is still the most fantastic person to get assistance from when having computer issues. I accidentally dropped my laptop and the screen got smashed. He and one of his coworkers named Eric replace the screen at a very fair and reasonable price compared to what I had seen at Best Buy and other electronic service shops. They were able to fix things quicker than I was expecting. Chris ordered the screen and had it put in less then a week after I consulted him about the problem. If you ever have any hardware issues this guy is the man! I know that he is software savvy too because he helped a neighbor of mine with some issues that she was experiencing with her computer on the account of it having viruses which Chris was able to detect and eliminate. I came into contact with Chris (owner) of Solve My PC several years ago when working for a local publishing company here in Chicago. Needed a tech person to check if I had a virus. Have anti virus software which is kept up to date, but pc acting kinda funky. Also needed help with new printer setup. Solve My PC came out. Great with the printer setup. Never found a virus (is there one or not..dunno). Also tech said he wouldn't be installing any software, but would update anything needing it. Well, he surely did install a bunch of stuff. Also assumed I'd be wanting them for remote access/assistance in the future and merrily proceeded down that path setting it up until I stated No, I do not want that. And after all that, my pc now runs WORSE..SO SO SLOW. These guys aren't cheap, so I spent $$ for nothing and will be having to have another tech person to take a look around on what they did. read more

I had a wonderful experience calling the SolveMyPC line a few days ago. My laptop screen ran into some serious issues. The SolveMyPC rep walked me through a number of possible solutions; when those solutions didn't work, he was extremely transparent with pricing, but suggested first that I contact the manufacturer directly to check the detail on my warranty. To my surprise, the warranty covers the issue. The rep could have easily just taken my money, but instead guided me towards saving a decent chunk of cash. Most businesses do not operate like this. Should I have any additional problems with my computer (problems not covered by the warranty), I will know where to go. read more
