I am very surprised by all the negative comments for this location. Wendi was soooooooooo helpful and my entire experience was wonderful. I have recently lost weight and my bras were no longer supportive. I knew which type of bra I wanted but didn't know my size. She measured me and suggested new styles of bras (even cheaper than my current style) but was very happy to help me get what I wanted. When she determined the colors weren't available in store, she immediately had them sent to my home at no charge. She even made sure to give me the discount (20% from retailmenot.com) on my entire order. The bras only took a few days to arrive and I'm back in business! read more

Ugh - there's nothing worse than shopping for undergarments in a store you already know your size with and to have an older female employee say "are you sure you don't want the __?" - as in the next size up. Nothing makes me feel like i'm being judged by my grandma like getting this type of comment from a complete stranger who is trying to sell me unders. Are you seriously trying to make me avoid your location? I love certain products that this store carries, but now only shop online or at other mall locations. They really need to be conscious of how they make customers feel here. The store is always empty when I pass by, and they really could be doing so much better with what they offer if only they had better decorum. read more

They don't open until 11 am so three of us were waiting to go in at 11. The lights went on and we saw an employee at the register and she saw us as well. After a few minutes she turned off the light and then continued to ignore us. After 5-6 mins we all left. If she was having issues she could have at least let us in to look and explain what was happening but she wouldn't even acknowledge us. I drove over an hour to shop there but I won't be coming back. Ugh. Why is it that Soma cannot be better...simply because it can't. Soma is owned by the dowdy clothing store that you see in malls Chico's. The bras are odd fitting...and for my size in particular they never have (while Victorias Secret always does)...I'm not an odd size I'm a pretty basic size, but every single bra I tried on they either didn't have the colour or style I wanted. I might as well just ordered online. Let's not even talk about the dressing rooms...3 rooms? I waited for 10 minutes...even on VS busiest days I can get into a room in less than 10 minutes. The people are very unknowledgeable. I asked a woman for bottoms what size I should get as I do not shop at their stores and didn't know how their sizes ran. I am a large 6 and a small 8 on the bottom-she told me to get a Large. I found out that Large on their website is for pant sizes 12-14 (which I am not)? I got more information from their website than their employees at their stores? Really? The store is too small and overstuffed with sizes that no one needs or wants...I can't even begin to tell you how many shelves and hanging racks I bumped into while I was in the store. I don't know what this store is trying to be but high end is not one of them...the funny thing is they have Wacoal and some other higher end brands but online only, in the stores are their brands only. I won't be back...no matter what city I am in, it's the same unknowledgeable staff. Doesn't Soma train their employees? The only reason they received the extra star is because one of the women in the store made up for a lot of what they were lacking... read more

I went to this place really excited to get some pretty bras. I am a larger and sort of odd size (34 G). I have been fitted for bras in the past at other retailers and know what a good fit should look and feel like (wire flush against your chest, cups fully covering your breats, no boob over spillage, straps comfy but not cutting into you, etc). The girl helping me was nice but unknowledgable. That is fine, we all have to start somewhere and I knew kind of what I needed. She brought me some bras that she thought were my size after measuring me. Good so far. This is where things went wrong: I tried the first one on and I had what I like to call "Quadra boob", where the cup cuts the top of your breast in half, and she said she didn't know if it fit. Really? This is your job... but ok. I tried on another bra and this one had the underwire not covering the sides of my breasts as it should, and the straps were cutting into my shoulders, the manager came in and told me that bras should not have the wire flush against your ribs, especially the center portion where th e bow was, and that the bra looked fine on me. WHAT?!?! She lied right to my face. Twice. That was the first. The second was when I put on the third and final bra, emvarassed and frustrated at this point, and the underwire was sitting on top of my breast tissue on the underside of my breasts. The manager came in and told me that the bra fit me. Excuse me Miss Manager but if you look in your models pictures their bras are all flush against their ribs, the underwire covers and keeps all their breast tissue inside the bra, and the straps are not cutting off circulation or floating an inch in front of their arm pits. I got so embarrassed and upset (I was nearly in tears at their treatment of me) that I walked over to Nordstrom's and had them fit me for a bra. The ladies there never made me feel silly or weird ir out of place and they measured me too. There was even a woman with a prosthetic in a room close to mine, and she seemed very happy with their help. Don't spend your money here. They will try to sell you a bra that does NOT fit properly and insist that you're in the wrong. read more

I really want to give this a 3.5. I hate shopping for bras and hate stores like this. Once in a while it just can't be avoided though. The staff are nice, a little too nice I think. I was approached many times by the same two women for help. One was really insistent about a fitting. She asked me repeatedly and i kept saying no thanks. She told me that there bras are different and if I've never bought one before i really should get one. Jeez... I said no thanks! I really prefer to be left alone when I am shopping for underwear. I know I can ask a question if I want to! Each time I came out to look for other styles I would be asked two more times if they could help me. SERIOUSLY, I AM OKAY! Sometimes good service can be, well, perhaps too good. Some customers need a little more space. I bought several items all of which seem to be high quality. Things are not cheap, but the quality seems really good so far. read more

The store was fine and the bra fit well but after only a year, I rotate between about 4-5 bras and my weight does not fluctuate more than 5 lbs so I expect my bras to last a few years, my Soma bra has ripped through the strap. I plan to see it, but I expect a better quality for this price point. I have never had a bra strap break like this before. I don't recommend these bras unless you like bra shopping and replacing them frequently. read more

I have had problems trying to find a decent bra for several years now. I've been fitted numerous times and nobody could get it right. Just as I thought I was going to have to be miserable forever after having tried Victorias Secret, Maidenform, etc..., I happened to walk by Soma on my trip to the mall with my daughter. The sales person was gracious enough to listen to my cries and actually took a PROPER FITTING! I mean asked me if I was shy and I'm not in the least and she got my proper fitting! So happy with this product I actually went back into the fitting room after my purchase and threw my old one away ON SITE! Do give Soma a try! I highly recommend! This is a great place to get a high quality bra- especially if you are a D-cup like me and you want something with good support that you can wear all day. The sales associates are very pushy and won't let you just browse even when you say so repeatedly. Soma employees are paid on commission so that's why. They keep harassing you and bothering you. Super comfy bra, finally...but I've only shopped here since becoming pregnant for the second time and having massive boobs Store itself badly organized and salesperson super overattentive in a bad way - she seemed to be the only one who had a slight idea of what she was doing and seemed a bit overwhelmed with helping the other customers at the same time as helping me, even though there was another salesperson there. Not great. Still, she did find me a bra I liked and I prefer over attentive to being ignored, so she gets credit for that. I bought the vanishing back wireless bra, very comfortable and highly recommend for any pregnant woman with big old boobs. read more

With 3 young ladies working at Soma this afternoon the young lady helping me left me in the fitting room and didn't return. I waited way too long and when I departed the store only one girl was busy. The girl waiting on me said she had a phone call. There wasn't any reason why she couldn't have directed someone to check on me. I left without purchasing anything....big mistake. I had a terrible experience at Soma last night with the sales girl, Kylee. I had purchased the vanishing back bra that snaps in the front, thinking it would fit like the one that snapped in the back. When I got home to wear it, it didn't fit right. I went in and told her that I wanted to exchange it for another bra that I knew fit me great. She looked at my receipt (I had purchased 3 other bras that day) and very accusingly said, "this color is the only one that didn't fit you right?" As in, I wasn't returning the other colors so clearly I was returning it for the color not the fit. I told her that was the only one I purchased that snapped in the front, and no, it did not fit right. I also feel like she ripped me off because she charged me another $17 dollars to exchange it for a bra that was only a few dollars difference in price. Because originally they had given me a coupon for $20 off my $100 dollar purchase, and she wouldn't honor the coupon with my exchange. When I told her I didn't think it was fair because if I had brought both of the bras back and returned them, and then bought them again, the coupon would be honored. She became very sassy and combative, not honoring the coupon and being down right rude to me. I left feeling that she must work on commission because the feeling I got was that she was pissed that I was returning something that she was paid commission on, and then didn't want to give me my coupon on the exchange, so she could make her commission on the difference. Ugh, I hate that feeling that a sales rep is using you. No thanks, I won't be back. Also, when I asked her name, and she saw me writing it down, suddenly she was much more cheerful with me. read more

The girl was not dressed appropriate, was not very warm and friendly and then measured me much larger then I found out from Nordstrom that Iam and quickly tried to send me somewhere else. While being sized for a bra, I told the woman my current bra size that I had been measured for and that fit very well. She laughed and said "honey, you are not that small". I have recently lost a good amount of weight and that is a sensitive subject. She was surprised that I turned around and walked out. I went back later and discovered that the woman was the manager of the store. She should not be in that position if she is going to make people feel bad about themselves. read more

As with Amy P.(who reviewed it before) I am a fan for life too...In 2010 I went to the Nordstroms legendary lingerie people and was "properly" fitted for my daughter's wedding and I got to tell you, I was a sad mother of the bride with my ill fitting bra. I even tried to tell them as they hoisted me around and pulled and tugged and swore that it was my size, REALLY, it wasn't. I decided to go to Soma today and get a bra for an upcoming fun trip with my girlfriends. Not happy with the first encounter but with some perseverance, I got a sweet sales person named Elena who took tons of time with me, measured me and picked the right bra for me and we even talked about other things while I was trying on clothes. She even gave me her card when I told her I would ask for her again and she said she could come in when I was there and personally help me. This is what Nordstrom's needs to learn from. This little store with the big personality!!! I even got some clothes being delivered to my house by the end of the week. Love the silks stuff and the prices are half of the competition. Can't wait to lose the next 60 lbs. and start buying more stuff at Soma...so excited to see my new duds and wear my new bra! YEA!!!!! Thank you for that store!!!!
