I just had such a pleasant experience calling the vans' store at Alderwood Mall. I called inquiring about a pair of shoes that is in high demand and Nova answered the phone and promptly checked the stock that they had available in store and quickly and agreeably put the pair of shoes on hold for me until I could pick them up tomorrow. I'm so happy with this store's customer service! As a potential customer, I wasn't farmed out to a answering service. I actually spoke to a employee (Nova) that took the time to help me. !!!!!DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE DURING COVID-19!!!!!!! I wish I can give 0 stars. Just the other day I went to Vans at Alderwood Mall to go a check out some shoes. I was stoped by an employee on the front entrance letting me know I cannot enter in yet because there was a customer in the store not wearing a mask and nobody could come in until that customers leaves. I am not making this up. I was confused and asked why did you let them come in when every other stores requires to wear a mask and if not too not enter. The employee "explained" that this is what there COVID policy are. She said that those customers without mask will have high priority in our store and can come in without any worries. Again I was still confused. Most store at the mall follow the same rules. Each store will have a minimal amout of people and if it gets full we wait outside which is 100% good and I have no problem with. But that the worst part. The customer left when I was talking with the employee and they said I can come inside. Keep in mind I was and so was every other customers and Vans employees was wearing a mask. About 12 mins later when I was trying on some shoes, an employee came to me and other customers that we had to step out from the store because apparently THE SAME CUSTOMER THAT DIDN'T HAVE MASK CAME BACK AND WANTED TO GET SOMETHING!!! I and as well for other customers was mad about this. So your telling me that even when I have a mask, I'm getting kicked out because some idiot doesn't have a mask?!?! Went in for an exchange and everyone was pretty ok. Not nice but not a bad experience until I got to the register. I went to return the shoes but there was a a deal for buying one shoe and getting another pair 50 percent off ( which was actually supposed to be a shoe already on sale). Got to the register and asked if we can return and got the other two pair separately so I can get the promotion. She condescendingly tells me that I can do that on one transaction and continues by saying "that's what an exchange is". The cashier was a middle aged women, a little overweight a bunch of jewelry in and big lashes ( just a description to stay clear) . It was honestly pretty rude considering that she could've said that I could've done it on one transaction but she didn't have to be so condescending about it. I've worked retail before and you honestly don't have to say much if you're having a bad day. read more

The prices were great for shoes that are mainstream and popular. I tried on a pair of classic slip ons and they felt great in store but as soon as I got home OUCH. They hurt my toes so bad, Cant fault vans for my weird feet, the service and selection here is amazing. The shoes had to be returned sadly but they refunded my money back to my card thank god. I learned my lesson to shop around first. But you cant beat the prices here. read more

So, due to the fact that I'm deep within the grips of being 40, I seem to be yet another victim of the dreaded midlife crisis, which has manifested in me thinking that I can still skate like I did when I was 12. Which I can't. Not that I was ever that great back then anyway. But that didn't stop me from getting bit by the "new deck" bug yesterday. So I stopped by Vans in Alderwood Mall and decided to look into putting together my "dream deck". I walked in, was greeted by two friendly employees, one of which (Tiffany, I think?) got right down to helping this old dude find the pieces he needed to build the perfect deck on which to break his neck. She was super patient while I made her pull parts out of the glass case, and politely answered my stupid questions about bearings and truck risers. Eventually, we went with a Caballero reissue deck, with Indy trucks, Bones wheels and Powell Peralta Red bearings. She put it all together while I ate lunch in the food court. Half hour later, I was the proud owner of the deck that would have made my fellow middle school groms drool back in '85. Rad... They hook you up with free grip tape and knock $30 off when you buy a complete deck set up, so I got everything for a killer deal. Despite the fact that I told my wife I'd stop buying skateboards, I'm sure I'll be back the next time I need a "fix". Now, if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go ice my left ankle... read more

good sized store located across fr the Lego store. yes, you can say i was slightly bored there,.. Havent bought a pair of Vans since high school, and amazingly, the style/design hasn't changed, what a classic! But their comfort leaves a lot to be desired, unless you get their 'walking' version with a bit more support, but ain't no Rockport lol. There is one model that's very light, and priced right, average $65. Friendly service, tried on a few models, all in the back. Front is mostly clothes and the skating board stuff on the left. Even sell a few cute kids shoes too. read more

I went to vans looking for a pair of Classic Ochres which were sold out pretty much everywhere including online. So because there was none available, the sales associate spent like 15 minutes just calling all the other possible stores to see if they carried the shoe I needed in my size. After a while of calling with no luck, she managed to find one store which did have the shoes and ordered them in for me. She was super nice about it, as well as eager to help with any other needs I had. Overall I had a wonderful experience, and would recommend this particular vans to everyone.
