You can set up automatic payments and will receive all billing information and invoices on time each month. This storage facility is also on fixed rates so there are no price fluctuations or surprise charges made. Whenever there is a holiday closure or building update, they make sure to email everyone with plenty of notice and post it on a bulletin at the entrance and in each elevator to keep all clients well informed. Cleanliness: 5 Stars! The entire building (office, storage units, and bathrooms) are all extremely clean and well maintained. The entire staff is constantly attentive to what is going on in the building and will resolve any issues or clean anything immediately. This is an enclosed building so there are no weather damage or bird concerns in these storage units, unlike other outdoor storage facilities. The staff have taken all necessary COVID precautions to keep the space safe during this time. Additionally, they even decorate the office for each season and holiday which is an extra nice treat. Space/Organization: 5 Stars! The building is well laid out with two main front elevators off the parking area. It has a good flow with plenty of room in each hallway and elevator. They have many large moving carts available as well that help maneuver around the space easily. I have never had to wait for a cart or for the elevator long at all the entire time I have had a storage unit here. The place is very clean as far as storages go and the garage is spacious and easy for trucks to move around in. The communication with the staff is also amazing. For the price of someone to assure the protection of my belongings, I give five stars for this storage unit in downtown San Francisco. Their location is on the corner of 11th and Mission and is very accessible. You may ask yourself about the safety of this location when you drive by it, and let me assure you that they have very good security measures in place. They provide a counter service with boxes and locks for your unit along with packing materials, also a secure indoor parking structure. I was impressed by their 2 onsite vans to readily move your storage property. The reason I chose this storage facility was because of their climate controls and security measures to assure the safety of my artwork. I kept my belongings there for 1.5 years. Helpful staff. They have moving carts so you can unload/load easily. Elevators for easy access between the different floors. They have bathrooms on-site for you to use, and vending machines. The best part is you can use their complimentary moving trucks, & they have about 10 parking spots inside their structure for you to unload your stuff. I can't complain. They also sell packaging supplies, and will let you use their moving van when you move in, or out of the units. My son rented a unit to store his dorm stuff before going back home for the summer. Last minute thing, the price was little too much for me but he had no choice. That's fine. The thing is we asked for a partial refund at closing the unit but they refused. We closed the unit a few days after they charged my card the full rent but they said they can't give us a partial refund since we didn't notify them that we're closing the unit. Lesson learned. Like many other reviews have mentioned, Soma Self Storage has amazing customer service (whether via email, phone or in person) and the staff members really go above and beyond to help. The facility is also clean, secure and conveniently located. I've been storing my items here for a few months now. I was supposed to move out this month, but due to a change of plan I have to extend for 3 more months. I decided to upgrade to a slightly larger unit for easier access to my items (as well as to take advantage of better pricing during the slower winter months). Earlier in the week over email Jocelyn helped me work out the best way to do this transfer, and today Mark helped me move all my boxes from my original unit to the new one. (I doubt that any other storage facilities in SF offer this service.) Mark was super organized and patient - he helped me arrange my boxes such that what I wanted to access more frequently are on the outside and not too buried under other items. Thank you so much Mark! You're the best. Everything was done in less an hour, including the unit transfer and paperwork. I was so impressed by their efficiency and friendliness. Even though this facility may appear more expensive than others, it is worth every penny given the amazing staff members and all the "extras" they offer (e.g., free truck rental for 20 miles, free carry-in service). This place is so nice you can eat off of it. Even though it's in the middle of the wild part of the city, it's clean and safe and the folks running it are super sweet and helpful. I visited a few other facilities in Soma before deciding to store my stuff here, and I noticed there are a lot of creepy ones out there. This place even has a van you can rent to move your stuff there...and the van isn't one of the creepy ones, it's a normal one.
