I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!

As a Senior at NAU originating from Chandler, AZ, one of the things I've truly missed about Phx was Someburros. Flagstaff has always had some quality mexican food, but none particularly "cheap and cheerful". Many of the other mexican restaurants in Flagstaff that have quality food, are sit-down and much more expensive. Someburros is an excellent addition to the Flagstaff mexican scene. With quick service, and quality food at an affordable price, it adds a middle ground that Flagstaff was missing, too bad it's taken this long! The burritos are quite plain to start off, however most people don't know that you can easily add any vegetable or sauce to them in a "Chipotle" styled setting. They start off at about 4 bucks, and even when I add everything I want to it it's still under 9 dollars. Similarly with monthly (sometimes weekly) deals and specials that are advertised on their Facebook page and Snapchat app, it gets even cheaper! My personal favorites are the Carne Asada burro (no beans, sub sour cream or jalapeno cream cheese), the Crudo Burro with added sour cream and avocado, or the tried and true #1 Combo (Taco, Cheese Enchilada with Rice and Beans)! The Red enchilada sauce just can't be beat (Sorry Cafe Ole) The food is very comparable (if not better than most) of Flagstaff's mexican food offerings, at (in most instances) a cheaper price. It's definitely a unique restaurant, and has differed itself. However one of the best aspects about Someburros is its close proximity to NAU Campus. I don't own a car, and wrangling a ride to go grab food can be a challenge, and having Someburros close enough to easily walk to and from in a reasonable amount of time makes it even more appealing. read more

As a true lover of Mexican food, I always look forward to trying new places. If a restaurant doesn't meet my expectations, I believe in leaving honest feedback. This was my first visit to Someburros, and unfortunately, it fell short. I ordered a burrito, expecting a burst of authentic flavors, but it was bland and lacked any distinctive taste. The dish included a few shreds of lettuce and three small pieces of diced tomatoes, which did nothing to elevate the experience. However, I have to give credit where it's due: the salsa that accompanied the chips was excellent. It had a fresh, vibrant flavor that really stood out. On a positive note, the customer service was outstanding. I was greeted with a warm smile, and the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my visit. I decided to take a day trip to Flagstaff to clear my head and take a step back from my demanding work schedule. When I arrived I was STARVING, i'm not familiar with the Flagstaff area so I did not know where to go. I came upon Someburros and ever since my life has completely changed. Walking in, I had my head held low, emotionally at my breaking point. Zach immediately noticed and sparked a conversation. He told me how much he loves Flagstaff and how amazing their food is at someburros. My mood immediately shifted and I can't lie but this was the best burrito I have ever had! Even after living in the valley for over 15 years, I never tried Someburros until they moved up to Flagstaff. Everything I have tried so far is delicious, and even the free chips and salsa are good. The salsa is a bit spicy for those with a weak tongue, so maybe ask for the mild instead. The servers are polite and willing to fix any problem you may have with your food. Although I haven't had any problems, they only put 3 slices of avocado on top of a friend of mine's salad last time so she asked for more. As far as entrees go, there is a huge menu with lots of different options. I've eaten here multiple times and would recommend the Chicken Avocado salad, Carne Asada burrito, or Carne Asada fries. read more

On balance it is the perfect restaurant for me. To wit: -It's Mexican, which is the greatest of all food. -Chips and Salsa at my pace, not when the waiter bothers to come back by (I can just walk up to the counter and get more? That's crazy talk!) -Soda refill at my pace too? No more pacing my Coke Zero consumption so that it's not too full so the waiter ignores it but not too empty that it runs out before he/she does notice it. -The price is right, which helps ensure the pace of my wallet getting thinner is out done by the pace of my waist getting thicker. -The food is pretty good - it meets my critical "that will work" standard. I stopped into Someburros last Wed when we were visiting NAU. I wanted a bean burrito and asked if the beans had lard in them and was told yes. I decided to order a small salad instead when a cook named Zach over heard and said for me to get the veggie burrito and he made make it with the nana's beans which do not have lard. I thought that was so nice because I would have just ordered a small salad but ended up with this DELICIOUS huge burrito. Our family will definitely be back. BY FAR THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN FLAGSTAFF!!! Someburros is an AZ staple and their location in Flagstaff is just as great as the rest of their restaurants in the Valley of Phoenix. The GM Dora & her staff are so friendly, they make you feel like your eating in their home! I recently had the shredded beef taquitos in my last visit but also have had the Pollo Fundido, Borracho Burro, Carne Asada Burro and chicken tacos which have all been great. I usually don't write these but when I had great customer service especially from a young lad I have too. As a firefighter we go above and beyond to make things right even if it takes extra time. When I went to Someburros in flagstaff I was blown away at the honest service and politeness of Zach an employee who helped us out that day. He went the extra mile when we dropped our ID. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. However, just like most restaurants once they have been in business for awhile they start to skimp on their portion sizes. I ate their today for the last time. Their tacos are a joke! In fact, most of their meals are more filler than anything. I literally had to remove all the lettuce from the taco to see the oz size portion of meat at the bottom. Absolutely pathetic! Home fried chips and home made salsa served gratis. Salsa remarkable without being overly spicy. Just enough Chile to keep you eating the chips. For dessert try the chocolate flan, a 2 layer cake like flan, one layer chocolate, one vanilla. The interior is clean and neat as a pin. Table Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance is cafeteria.
