Good, but needs improvement for a five star review! I had the Chicken Poblano Mole Omelette. The omelette itself was nice and fluffy, the chicken was tender and the poblano mole sauce was yummy! Love the avocado slices on top. The country red potatoes were gross. The chunks of potato were uneven in size so some were cooked to a crisp and other chunks were under cooked and they were very oily. The sourdough toast was good, and loved the homemade strawberry preserves. Happy that they serve Juaritos soda, so I could have my fave, Tamarindo! Prices are decent, service was efficient, and the food came out quickly. It was a bit too windy for the patio, but would like to try that next time, although no complaints about the interior. I know they are a newer family business, so I'm sure they are working on improving. Will definitely try again!

My husband and I ate here with our three dogs a few weeks ago. I really love that. They have the fenced in patio that allows dogs. They even brought our dogs water, which I thought was really sweet. The server was also very kind and helpful. we ordered some basic breakfast dishes, and had no complaints. I forgot to take pictures, however, I did feel like it was a good value for what you get and it was just what we were looking for!

Stumbled upon this place while going to another place and it was packed Seated promptly. The waiter took our drink order I did notice a couple leaving since they were not asked for their drink order. This should have told me how service was going to be. I got the pork green chili omelette. I liked it and something i never had but they forgot my toast. The hash browns were okay. My wife had the waffle and she said it didn't had any flavors. And we had to ask for refills as the waiter never stopped back.

This place has amazing food, so much so that I went there for breakfast twice in the same week. The first time, I had the pork green chili omelet with hash browns. Really good with just the right amount of heat to the green chili sauce. The second time I had the chicken mole poblano omelet. The mole sauce was amazing, really deep complex flavors with again, just the right amount of heat. The omelet was stuffed with chicken and I couldn't get enough of this dish. The waiter says that everything including the mole is made from scratch and it really shows. Highly recommend!

The service was pretty good and I enjoyed the restaurant's ambiance. However, the food wasn't very good. The crepe tasted flavorless. I also had cafe de olla and it tasted like normal machine brewed coffee... disappointing. I wouldn't go back.

Overall I rate this place a 4/10. The service was okay 6/10 definitely could use some improvement. The ambiance 6/10 was very old school Mexican diner type; something I would call a hole in the wall. The food was a disappointment. I had such high hopes since the owners are Mexican but the sazón has left the building. I had the mole & it was just okay 4/10 ; the rice portion was skimpy and was served nearly cold. My friend got chilaquiles and she rated them 5/10; "sauce was good but chips were cold". There's potential there and it seems like if you're not used to traditional Mexican food this could be a good place for you.

I've never had French toast come with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but maybe more should! The berry French toast was delicious. We also shared the mole omelette, perfect mole. I loved the cafe de olla coffee, no non-dairy milk option but I didn't need it! I had it black with a little sweetener and I haven't stopped thinking about that cup of joe! I'd go back just for the cafe de olla coffee

We stopped in on our way through Flagstaff for brunch and this place did not disappoint. Fast service but never felt rushed, the food was amazing and it was clean including the bathrooms. I had the chilaquiles sunrise based on the waiter's recommendation and it was hot and full of flavor. My husband had a pork green chile omelette which he enjoyed. Their specialty coffee with cinnamon was so delicious. I've never had it before but it needed nothing, no cream or sugar. They said they just opened about 7 months ago. They were all working hard and you can tell their customers are their #1 priority.

Everything was excellent! Easy walk-in service. Renè was a great server. Their milè was the best I've ever eaten. Chilaquiles was amazing as was the French toast. We'll be back! Highly recommend!

Really wonderful service. The staff is friendly and will tell you about their homemade cooking and their journey in making food. They have a great, large patio with umbrellas and shade and music, so the atmosphere rocks. Try the mole!

If you find yourself in flagstaff this lil breakfast spot will hit the spot . Everything is hand/homemade . The chief even came out to make sure we enjoyed the food . Great food great service. Definitely a gem to try out . We enjoyed the chicken mole omelette and the chilaquiles . Together was a hit . The ambiance was nice and chill ..

I thought I had to go to Tucson for some good Mexican breakfast. Not anymore! This place had my favorite item on their menu: Huevas a la Mexicana. The beans were amazing. And my side of pancake. Fresh squeezed orange juice with extra pulp. They make their own salsa. I tried the green salsa and red salsa. I will be back to try their chilaquiles.

I stopped in yesterday for breakfast/lunch not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. The theme is Mexican with a variety of items. I was welcomed as soon as I entered and shown to a nice booth. The style of the cuisine comes from Puebla and is very flavor focused. I ordered a Cafe de Olla - now I'm usually a milk and sugar girl but I tried this before I doctored it and it was DELICIOUS. I'm here this morning for a Cafe de Olla. I had the mole chicken omelette and the mole was CHEF'S KISS . It just opened recently and has plans to expand to dinner service as well as breakfast and lunch. This will be on my list of regular places for future trips.

I've eaten here countless times and I'm never disappointed. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. Their waffles are incredible as are their burritos, skillets, tostadas, and gorditas. Breakfast always comes with a side of whole beans (flavored with ham hock) which are super fresh. I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. I HIGHLY recommend Madrez if you're looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican brunch spot. Support local!

My partner and I ordered a chorizo burrito, a skillet poblano, and a plain waffle. While everything was just okay, it honestly felt like something we could have made better at home. I especially wouldn't recommend the waffles -- they were very airy, almost like toast, and at $14 they just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it's not somewhere I'd return to.

Front of house was warm, attentive, and completely on it, the kind of hospitality that sets the tone right away. Food came out quickly without feeling rushed, and every plate delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The steak was cooked perfectly (chef's kiss), and the chimichurri had that bright balance. The prosciutto in the Savory Croissant Waffle was a star. Also, shoutout to a place that can genuinely do both coffee and food well. That's rarer than it should be. We opted for a hot vanilla oatmilk latte and a Matcha Americano. We got both of these to go. The vanilla latte didn't have any sweetener or vanilla in it. I'm not sure if they maybe put a little bit but nothing really pulled through. The coffee itself was extremely strong, which is not a bad thing considering we were on our truck back home so it's a good thing to stay awake. The ceremonial Matcha was very light in the Americano. I'm not sure what their measurement is, but it could have used another half a teaspoon, at least. The patio is dog friendly and there was a pup out there already at 8:30 AM on a Saturday. Inside, they have beautiful hanging plants and ample room if you're coming here to study or to catch up with some friends.

We were intrigued enough that we visited MartAnne's the very next night for dinner. That was on a Tuesday at around 6PM and it wasn't too busy the entire time we were there. House Horchata ($5.99) - This drink comes in a giant 32 oz Ball jar with tons of ice. Per the server it's made with milk and condensed milk, no rice milk at all. It's rich, thick, creamy, sweet, filled with earthy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. There's so much spice included that at some points, there's almost a gritty feeling while drinking. It's perfect for a hot day after hiking. Buckwheat Pancake ala carte ($4.99) - Buckwheat pancakes are something we've never seen before on a diner menu in the past. It seems to be pretty common around Arizona, so we had to give it a try before leaving Flagstaff. This one's pretty big, almost plate sized. It's really moist, fluffy, bouncy, and light with a slight sweetness and a certain earthy flavor. It's moist enough that it sticks to the ceramic plate it's served on. The pancake is somewhat crumbly due to the low gluten content of buckwheat, although I believe they use a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour to give some more stability. It's bluish grey in color with black specks of ground buckwheat throughout. It's dusted with powdered sugar, but it's not a ton, making the pancake not really sweet at all. The pancake comes with a small cup of their cinnamon honey butter. It's not mixed that well, leaving it mostly unhomogenized with streaks of honey and spice through the softened salted butter. Tamale ala carte ($4.99) - MartAnne's offers two types of tamales - the first a red chile beef, and the second a green corn and cheese. We went with the latter, which is a homemade tamale with a somewhat looser, coarsely ground masa shell surrounding an interior of yellow sweet corn kernels, a bouncy and somewhat spongy block of Oaxaca cheese, and a fragrant green chile. There's a slight sweetness throughout and the tamale overall is easy to eat. Chilaquiles, Xmas, Fratelli ($17.99) - This is a monster sized plate of a mishmash of ingredients. There are three things as essentially a base layer. Firstly some Mexican rice that's tender, moist, and fluffy, totally unlike the more common dry and and compact version. My guess is that they skip the initial frying step that helps keeps the starch together. It's quite fragrant and has gives a bit of heat. On top of the rice is a layer of hash browns. The potatoes are tender on the interior, griddled on one side to give a delightful crunch, although there's some acridity that develops. Another third of the plate is covered with chili beans - tender pinto beans that are well salted and seasoned. Then there's the eggs stuffed in between layers of corn tortilla chips, smothered with sauce. I went with the Christmas combination of red and green sauce, followed up by the Fratelli-style pork green chile. The green sauce is fragrant and vegetal, while the red sauce is more smoky. The pork, which is cut into chunks, on top is a bit tough and dry but there's more than enough sauce to make up for that slight demerit. Finally, there's a small mound of I believe jalapeno peppers, cut into small neon-green colored pieces. Some pieces are spicy, some are mild, all have a vegetal pepper taste. I found the food at MartAnne's to be pretty good. It definitely hits the spot after hiking all around the area for most of the day. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Note: MartAnne's charges a 3.5% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu.

The salsa came in a tiny plastic fast food cup and tasted weird like oregano. Rice was tasteless and beans were right out of a can. The bill came and there's a surprise $1.75 service added charge for inflation. On top of horrible food and service. Don't be fooled by the cute decor...this place is BAD. To the owners: Better spend your extra $1.75 wisely because we will NEVER be back. We can't be the only ones that feel this way. It's sad because this place used to be epic. Not anymore! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is especially impressive. They have what looked like a private dining space inside a barn-style shed, several gas fire pits, and even a slightly elevated platform that looked perfect for live music. Ordering is simple -- you place both food and drink orders at the counter, then they bring everything out to your table. Even though the place was busy, the food came out fast and piping hot. The food itself was outstanding. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and my wife got the chilaquiles. Both portions were huge. The chicken and biscuits were exactly what I was hoping for: smothered in rich country gravy with a perfectly fried flattened chicken breast that was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The buttermilk biscuit was golden, flaky, buttery, and had the perfect balance of soft interior and crisp edges. I honestly got full halfway through my plate and never even got a chance to try the wife's chilaquiles. The drip coffee was excellent too -- simple, hot, and exactly what good breakfast coffee should be. There's street parking along with a small parking lot across the street. Easily one of the best breakfast spots we've been to.

We had placed our orders inside and were sent away with a number on a stand for our table. The gal that waited on us was very patient and uber-friendly taking our orders - luckily there was no one behind us and she took the time to answer all of our questions. I feel like we'd only been seated just a hot second when the food arrived! Fabulous service - quick and friendly and always with a smile. Hubby and I each got a cup of fresh brewed coffee that did not disappoint! Not too weak, not too strong... brewed to perfection! My husband ordered the chicken and biscuit and I the chilaquiles Christmas style. Lord have mercy both of these dishes were the bomb! Not only plenty of food but super tasty - I had my chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and they also came with about 1/2 a freshly sliced avocado. Nice, tangy flavor and sprinkled with just the right amount of cotija cheese! Shared with the table and still had leftovers (and I'm not mad about it). Husband's dish was perfection - the perfect biscuit combo - fluffy, chewy and crunchy in all the right places, and the gravy not overly seasoned or salty. Chicken was a breaded/fried (possibly baked) and cooked/seasoned just right. Inner meat was tender and moist and outside of course was crunchy - batter was well seasoned and breast didn't seem greasy at all. I worked in a mom-and-pop coffee shop decades ago - everything was homemade and fresh and the coffee 2 die 4. This establishment brought me back to those times in regard to coffee/food quality and hospitality! Will 100p be returning when next we're in town!
