Great staff and patio seating was nice. Dog friendly and located right on the outskirt of DT Flag. Unfortunately, the only thing we enjoyed was their cinnamon roll although it could have been better warmed. We also ordered their green chile pork + egg plate that came with diced onions and potatoes. Asked for the eggs to be over medium and they came out over hard. The pork was pretty tough and the potatoes were too crispy for the overall meal itself and it lacked sauce. Also came with two flour tortillas but they were super small, street taco size. Tourist Home Cafe absolutely lives up to the hype. This breakfast spot was INCREDIBLE from start to finish. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is especially impressive. They have what looked like a private dining space inside a barn-style shed, several gas fire pits, and even a slightly elevated platform that looked perfect for live music. Ordering is simple -- you place both food and drink orders at the counter, then they bring everything out to your table. Even though the place was busy, the food came out fast and piping hot. The food itself was outstanding. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and my wife got the chilaquiles. Both portions were huge. The chicken and biscuits were exactly what I was hoping for: smothered in rich country gravy with a perfectly fried flattened chicken breast that was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The buttermilk biscuit was golden, flaky, buttery, and had the perfect balance of soft interior and crisp edges. I honestly got full halfway through my plate and never even got a chance to try the wife's chilaquiles. The drip coffee was excellent too -- simple, hot, and exactly what good breakfast coffee should be. There's street parking along with a small parking lot across the street. This place is one of my new Flagstaff faves. Coffee is fresh and delish. Pancakes have a custardy middle with crispy edges and the syrup is like melted butterscotch! I got the ranchero which was bomb. My husband got the chilaquiles which was also amazing. The chips in the chilaquiles are definitely made from scratch because they stayed thick and crunchy even with a bunch of sauce. My sister got the BLT with turkey...the garlic aioli is to die for. Everything is just so fresh and high quality. The staff are extremely friendly and willing to answer questions about the menu. Seating can be tight so I'd arrive before 11am on the weekends. 10/10 brunch...I would travel out of my way for this place. read more

Family and I (group of 8) recently grabbed breakfast at Tourist Home Flagstaff Café. It was the day after NAU graduation (Saturday), and we were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of outdoor seating (probably a little result of too much celebrating the night prior). We had placed our orders inside and were sent away with a number on a stand for our table. The gal that waited on us was very patient and uber-friendly taking our orders - luckily there was no one behind us and she took the time to answer all of our questions. I feel like we'd only been seated just a hot second when the food arrived! Fabulous service - quick and friendly and always with a smile. Hubby and I each got a cup of fresh brewed coffee that did not disappoint! Not too weak, not too strong... brewed to perfection! My husband ordered the chicken and biscuit and I the chilaquiles Christmas style. Lord have mercy both of these dishes were the bomb! Not only plenty of food but super tasty - I had my chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and they also came with about 1/2 a freshly sliced avocado. Nice, tangy flavor and sprinkled with just the right amount of cotija cheese! Shared with the table and still had leftovers (and I'm not mad about it). Husband's dish was perfection - the perfect biscuit combo - fluffy, chewy and crunchy in all the right places, and the gravy not overly seasoned or salty. Chicken was a breaded/fried (possibly baked) and cooked/seasoned just right. Inner meat was tender and moist and outside of course was crunchy - batter was well seasoned and breast didn't seem greasy at all. I worked in a mom-and-pop coffee shop decades ago - everything was homemade and fresh and the coffee 2 die 4. Got a turkey sandwich and I would not recommend it. The sourdough bread was so dry it cut up the inside of my mouth and the sandwich itself was also somehow super dry even though it had dijonaisse and tomatoes in it. The tomato soup that it came with was actually quite good. My husband got a grilled cheese and added bacon to it and said the bacon carried the sandwich because had the bacon not been in it he said it would have been junk. We've kind of avoided this place only because of the name, but I'm glad we decided to go. Breakfast menu had a lot of great options, including some gluten-free choices. The coffee was great, I had an Americano and the wife had a Chi with a shot of espresso. The place is laid out well and spaces including a nice outdoor area. Everyone we came in contact with from the front counter to the barista were very pleasant. Make sure to check out their Specials board for some off the menu options. We had some poblano soup which was flavorful and smooth. When we returned. This weekend we are going to grab some French toast and a few other delicious items. It's important to note that the weekends are super busy but as long as you have no where else to be than you should be fine. And the lavender lemonade? Again, best ever. I was seriously having such a good time just between those two things. The customer service is horrible. The general manager Kelly is very unprofessional. Do NOT come here if you have a big group. I came here with a group of 8 girls for a bachelorette. I had previously made an inquiry online for a reservation. I waited for a response but after 2 weeks I just called to book a reservation over the phone which was on May 1st. On June 24th the general manager called and left a voicemail about the inquiry I made online but I didn't call her back because I already made my reservation May 1st. I called a couple of days before my reservation making sure it was all set and it was. The day before my reservation (July 25th) the general manager called with an attitude about how I didn't call her back but I told her I already made a reservation and confirmed it with your team. Now, today July 26th, we show up the table is reserved, everything is great. A waitress comes out and says she can't take our orders on her device because it is not working so we need to go inside to place our order. We go inside and the line is extremely long and wrapped around the restaurant. We go up to the general manager and she instantly has an attitude blaming me that I didn't call her back in June even though I talked to her on the phone yesterday and that she didn't staff for a waitress. She is telling us we need to get in line to order our food. On the phone, Kelly never said we won't have a waitress and you will need to order inside. We would have done that if we knew. A waitress was going to take our order but then her device didn't work... After arguing with Kelly she grabbed someone else and they took our order on a register. No apology, she just left and got someone else. We honestly should have left with how Kelly treated us. Food was good but we definitely won't be back. read more

We really liked The Tourist Home for breakfast in Flagstaff. From the minute we walked in, the whole atmosphere just felt right. There was a young woman with reddish hair in braids walking around keeping everyone informed and checking on tables, and she was as friendly as could be. Everyone seemed to be doing a little bit of everything. The same people were ringing up meals, clearing tables, bringing out food, just doing whatever it took to keep things moving, and they were all smiling. Now let me talk about these pancakes. I am not a pancake person. I would never order pancakes. But I saw a stack walk by with the most perfectly crispy edges and something in me said we needed them. We ordered them as a side just to try. Oh my word. Just get the pancakes. Crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, absolute perfection. If you do nothing else, order the pancakes. I ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese because that is usually my go to. It was a little disappointing. The soup was thinner than I expected, and the grilled cheese was just okay. My boyfriend ordered the classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast, and it was delicious. The sausage especially was really flavorful. This little gem is located in the historic Flagstaff. It's not a full sit down restaurant because you have to order at the counter and self serve with the cutlery, water or drip coffee. We went there for brunch at around 11 on a Saturday so naturally the place was rather full and we had to wait a few minutes for chairs to become available. It's one of those place where you have to linger around a group that's about to leave; a downside to the eating experience. However, the food makes up for the inconvenience and expensive parking ($12 for 2 hours at the lot across the street). We ordered fried chicken sandwich, steak and eggs, and the traditional breakfast. All was really good. The fried chicken was delicious and not dry at all. My steak was very flavorful and tender.
