I hate having to stare up high on a wall to see the menu. Strike one. Pictures of the food items on a menu is so helpful, but this place does not have them. It took us 15 minutes staring up on the wall to try and figure what we wanted while the people behind us waited impatiently for us to memorize the menu. It was so cold in the restaurant, we had to sit outside to warm up. Strike two. The nachos were presented in a fashion that I have never seen before. They were flat tortillas all joined to each other. You can't eat them with a fork, you can't pick them up without making a mess. Yikes! Strike three. They charged $5.00 for a draft beer and $6.00 for a Margarita slushy that the girls immediately panned as the worst Magi ever. Strike four. The location they chose to build this new joint, is right on a loud, busy street. Street rods screaming by every few minutes. Strike five. I enjoyed my over-priced Dos XX beer and would normally order another, but my table mates could hardly wait to leave. Strike six...that's a whole inning! read more

What can I say? We go there often but last night at 6:30 when we arrived, they had no beef. No shredded beef nor ground beef. Very disappointed and to top that off, the folks behind the counter (new guy) was clueless. Come on Someburros, you can do better. read more

Excellent all the way around. Friendly staff. Ordered over the phone and the staff was very helpful in helping with the order. Showed up in the drive thru after only 15 minutes and it was already done. Carne Assad quesadilla and fundito were great. Beans were VERY good. Best part is the prices are similar to the other various Mexican fast food drive thrus but the quality is superior. Will definitely be back! read more

My girlfriend brought me here just a few minutes ago because I was really craving a burrito. Once we got there my attitude and appetite quickly changed. the lady behind the counter with short hair and glasses was so rude to people trying to place orders telling them to get out there were too many people in there. There were only a few people. Horrible customer service skills. I regret that I can't even give this place the opportunity to earn my business based on my initial interaction with this lady who was very rude unprofessional. One lady who is just trying to get something extra for her order that she had already placed and the drive-thru and she told her to wait outside, and her food was already cold. Someone needs to speak to the manager about her customer service skills or she needs to go to school to brush up on them very poor poor skills. read more

Not authentic at all. This was my first and last visit here. I know authentic, this is processed and not fresh. I ordered the combo with a taco, enchilada beans and rice for myself and the Borracho Burro for my husband. I was expecting to smell the wonderful fresh scent food gives as its put together. I drove for 15 minutes with the food in my car and I could not smell any flavors at all. Once we started eating it was a obvious why. This isn't authentic nor fresh. The menu says vegan options available. I'm vegetarian, so that seemed promising. We get to the counter and my family orders first. Then I ask what the vegan options are. He proceeds to explain that all gluten free have a symbol next to them. I point out right below that says "vegan options available" and highlight there is no symbol for it. He just looks at me. I asked him to find someone to help. He grudgingly goes to another. She comes over and states "we put lard in everything we make". Great I appreciate her honesty. I asked what then are the vegan options? She said they can do a simple taco with whole beans and guacamole. Fine I'll have that. It was bland and dry. Husband said the chicken was bland too. I have never been to someburros but have heard of it and seen it in other areas of town. I found they opened this one next to my work and decided to give it a shot. I ordered a red chile burrito enchilada style with red sauce and chips and salsa. First off they did not give me the chips and salsa. I got the burrito to my desk and here are my findings. The red enchilada sauce is bitter as hell. The red chile beef is super dry, it was almost like eating sand. Those two things alone caused me to throw about half of the burrito away. I would recommend any of the numerous other Mexican choices in this part of town. read more

New location. We went on a school fundraising night and if you've ever been a part of one of those chaotic events you know it can test even the best staff. The staff really stepped up. Everyone one was quick, friendly and efficient. Order came out fast, was correct and fresh and hot. Standard SomeBurros fare. Guacamole was nice and chunky- generous portion with the mini chimis and taquitos. We also got the pollo fundido- good size, lots of sauce on top. Drink station was clean and tea/lemonade/ horchata was full. read more

My Buddy/ Ex Roommate would get their party platers for his parties from the Tempe location, I was kind of nerves because once a restaurant opens new loctaions , they tend to lose the consistency, Nope the Mini chimis taste exactly how i remember it, delicious, the meat was on point, i ordered the green chili burritos, it was good. I grew up eating poncho's in south phoenix and its still my favorite spot. So someburros opened up in uptown I had to go try there salsa and yup its the same.. next I will try the green chile burrito with cheese inside.. yummy!!! keep it up guys!! read more

THE WORST TACOS! they were oily, like dripping, and just a few sprigs of lettuce. The tortilla was so soaked, it fell apart after 1 bite. The enchilada wasn't heated through and the cheese was clumpy. I judge a mexican food restaurant on their enchiladas being heated and this was a fail. The rice had apparently been sitting in the pan awhile as it was "crusty". The only good thing about the place is the drive thru line was empty, and the green sauce was passable. for $27.00 for 2 lunch entrees, I expected better. I won't be back. read more

They did it again! Another great location! I am a huge fan of Someburros and when I saw one opening close to my office I was thrilled, went in Friday and the food was delicious, consistency is everything. Had a shredded beef taco and guacamole. Delish! The soft drink selection is fabulous. Their black tea was perfect. To top off a great experience Renee Prado was there as the GM! I first met her at the Tempe location and most recently at the Scottsdale store. She is the best so I know this store will always be great. Give them a try, you can't go wrong. They need to put one in Cave Creek and my life will be complete! read more

I am a long time lover of Someburros and frequently dine at the original Tempe location so I was stoked when I saw the new construction for the location less than 2 blocks from my home on 7th St. I don't typically write reviews but after my most recent visit when trying to show off to my sister (visiting from Washington, trying to give her good Mexican food) definately needs a little light shined upon. We placed our order via telephone and they told us 20 minutes. We arrived in the drive thru (inside is closed due to pandemic) to three other vehicles in line. no big deal, it's a take out window for online or phone orders only-service should go quickly as the orders should already be made (unless maybe a customer showed up earlier than the time allotted). SHOULD be. I don't know what is going on but it seems like ever since this pandemic, I keep getting stuck in the line at Someburros. and it's always one car that takes FOREVER and the others go thru smooth as a whistle. Someburros-are you letting people order at the window? if so, why put all your other customers who have placed online and phone orders on the back burner?? We placed our order and waited double, if not more time sitting in the drive thru. Our food, as always, was delicious. Customer service, great. but the wait time-deserves some serious attention. I am a loyal customer and I plan to come back. hopefully things get better. **also I would like to note that this has happened at the tempe/mill Ave location as well. My husband and I called in a food order. I am not sure if the man at the windows name was Brian but that is what the check said. He was incredibly sweet. We had ordered Chicken but it was made with beef and they fixed it in under a minute. When we were pulling out we realized they had forgotten the chips and he ended up giving us a medium bag when we had ordered small. He was incredibly apologetic and so nice! One Sunday night 4 weeks ago my husband and I flew in from out of town and were craving Someburro once we got home we dropped off our suitcases, hopped in our car and beelined it to Someburros with only 10 minutes left of them being open. Eventhough the drive thru is for pre orders we pulled up anyways hoping someone would still be inside. This is how we met Ode. He opened the window and we asked if they were still taking orders he said yes. Not only was the store empty at that time he took our order with a smile. Most people would have said no because they wanted to go home but not Ode. Not only did he verify our order he chatted with us on how much he loved his job. We told him we look forward to seeing him open his own store and enjoyed his passion and kindness. Ode helped us and the cooks 10 minutes past closing. Since then we have been back 2 more times the food is delicious and it's such a treat to see Ode's smiling face and enthusiasm to help all customers. I hope a raise is in store for him!!! read more
