I ordered the Loco Moco, my husband ordered the linguica and cheddar scramble with hashbrowns and sourdough toast, and we got the granola and banana pancakes to share. The loco moco was good, but it lacked a little salt. My husband liked his scramble. And the pancakes were good. A little dry, but with some syrup they were delicious. The portions are huge. My family and I stopped by yesterday for a good Sunday Funday brunch. As always everything was amazing and the service was great! We love the food so much here! This time I got the French toast with potatoes, eggs, and bacon. My son got the kids cheeseburger with fries. My husband got the crispy carnitas & avocado omelette. I also got the iced caramel macchiato coffee, and my husband got their orange juice. We all loved what we got like the per usual! This place always is busy but they are also quick to get us seated and food comes out quick too! So the 30 minute wait honestly does not bother us, it's so worth it! Drove up from Tucson to have "the best breakfast in Arizona " and while we enjoyed our breakfast immensely... I would not say it was the best we ever had here in our great state. OMG-how did we ever find hidden gems like this when traveling before review sites like this! As we drove north I couldn't really remember why I jotted this spot down for breakfast as it seemed a bit out of the way-but once we arrived inside, it was clear. This surfing theme breakfast joint run by a retired surfer from Cali who reported being in the restaurant business for over 50 years when I chatted with him. (Hint he's the tall retiree wearing a Hawaiian shirt and checking in with everyone). The menu has an endless list of almost every breakfast concoction imaginable from buttery flakey biscuits, pancakes, cinnamon rolls eggs and a host of Mexican specialties, chicken and waffles as well as other items. Judging from all the benches outside, there's probably a wait at times to get in although on a Monday at 8 am we got a cozy booth without a problem. It was still busy but no wait at that time. Staff is friendly and food comes out quickly. My raspberry cream crepes were a nice change of pace and my wife was pleased to be able to just order 2 poached eggs with avocado and a biscuit. Prices are reasonable although make sure you have cash as this is a CASH ONLY restaurant. The interior is all surfing memorabilia -bright and cheery. The OBH is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Arizona. On the weekends you will notice that there is typically a wait which lets you know just how good it is as it is worth the wait!! Every time I've gone for either breakfast or lunch, I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. I usually purchase a couple of pastry items to go on my way out as well. This place is so great! Yelp Squad ty for guiding us to this delightful destination for our final meal before heading back to Vegas. As we walked in we were greeted by a smiling gentleman who directed us to the hostess stand where an equally wonderful young hostess lead us to a table immediately. My omelette was nice & hot and everything came out just as I ordered it. Veggies fruit and avocado were all very fresh. I made my own avocado toast by smashing it up and spreading it on my unbuttered english muffin...yum! The cinnamon roll made it about 1/2 through the 4.5 hour drive back to Vegas then I cracked and devoured it. Worth every calorie my friends! There were a few other in house baked goods like the homemade pop tart, chocolate croissant and daily muffins. This girl loves some cream cheese frosting and I don't splurge often but when I do....there WILL be frosting involved. Straight from the airport, my boyfriend and I drove here before our scheduled tour at Taliesin West. Located in an unassuming empty shopping plaza, we found our destination and walked in with weary expectations. But as we've been taught as kids, never judge a book by its cover. We started with the cinnamon roll which wasn't my favorite since it was doughier than what I'd prefer but wasn't too bad. The french toast was great but would have prefered if they had real maple syrup instead of a blend of syrups. It was a bit overly sweet for me (which is insane for me to say since I love sweets). The star of our breakfast and the thing we fought over who would get the last bite was the Al Pastor Hash. We were a bit skeptical about the al pastor as we're used to really good ones in California but this blew our minds. My avocado toast was really good once I added a little salt and pepper. My husband said that the chicken and waffle was the worst he's ever had. I have been to Original Breakfast House many times, and I have had a great experience every time. Sometimes I have come by myself, while other times I have come here with some of my closest friends. When I was looking at some of the best breakfast restaurants in the Phoenix area, Original Breakfast House was on the list. Thus, I decided to try it out. The owner, John, is a fantastic gentleman who cares about everyone having a great experience in his restaurant. Every time I walked up to the building, he was there to greet me with a warm smile. When I asked him if they had ATMs, since the establishment was cash-only, he directed me to where they could be found within the building. One of the ATMs is found to the right once you enter the building, and another is found near the restrooms in the back. The other staff members are great as well. They are always helpful and ensure you have everything you need, offering anything extra if you need it. The food is fantastic. One of my favorite items on their menu is their El Paso omelette. It is one of the best omelettes I have ever had. Everything tastes fresh, and the omelette is full of flavor. I also like their hash browns, fresh, fluffy biscuits, and their drink selection. Another omelette I like is the Popeye omelette. I also like how delicious their baked goods at the front of the restaurant look once you enter. Next time I stop by, I will have to make sure I give them a try. I also appreciate the pleasant atmosphere. It is a nice classic diner atmosphere that takes you back in time.
