As others have mentioned, this is a clean, comfortable Courtyard property. All of the staff have been very professional and friendly. Like other Courtyards, they have a Starbucks and a full bar in the lobby. There is a nice courtyard and pool area where I hung out reading on a beautiful morning. They also have a silent auction happening in the lobby with some interesting memorabilia available. I do wish they would update their fitness center. On the plus side, they have enough aerobic equipment to satisfy all. Their weight rack is missing quite a few weights. I do remember a manager at another Courtyard property telling me that guests steal the dumbbells. Nice/not! Overall, a good experience at this property. read more

Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient in North Phoenix Stayed at the Courtyard Phoenix North and had a solid, comfortable experience--exactly what you'd hope for from a well-run Marriott property. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-kept, with modern touches in the lobby and rooms. The bed was super comfortable, and the A/C (very important in Phoenix!) worked like a dream. The room had a mini-fridge, a good-sized desk, and plenty of outlets--great for both relaxing and getting things done. The location is convenient, especially if you're doing anything on the north side of Phoenix or Glendale. It's just off the freeway but tucked in enough to be peaceful, with plenty of parking and good access to restaurants, shopping, and even hiking spots nearby. Staff were polite and efficient during check-in and check-out, and while I didn't use the pool or gym this time, both looked clean and well-maintained. The Bistro in the lobby is a nice touch too--perfect for grabbing a quick breakfast or Starbucks coffee in the morning. Not sure if you've seen my previous two reviews about the Comfort Suites and Motel 6, but that's exactly how I ended up at the Marriott. After a very long night, I first stopped at the SpringHill Suites. They were fully booked, but the clerk there was great -- she called over to the Courtyard to see if they had availability, and thankfully they did. When I arrived at the Courtyard, I had to wait a few minutes to check in, but during that time I met Erika. She was welcoming, friendly, and easy to chat with. After the chaos I'd experienced at the other two hotels, her attitude was a breath of fresh air. She got me into my room as quickly as she could, and I was immediately relieved. The room itself was spacious and the bedding was clean. Next time, I wouldn't choose a first-floor room facing the pool -- the glass door felt a bit awkward -- but overall it was still comfortable. The hotel was quiet, the water pressure was solid, and although the shower controls were a little hidden, once I figured it out everything worked great. I also appreciated the housekeeper who noticed me leaving and kindly asked if I needed service even though I had my "Do Not Disturb" sign on. She was very polite. There's no free breakfast here, and I wasn't staying long enough to check out the other amenities, but they do have plenty of parking. Overall, I would stay here again. read more

First of all, I would like to thank Melissa Bell for booking our rooms for this trip. I can't thank you enough for always giving that 5 star Marriott service. Melissa and her friendly staff always provide exceptional customer service. This is not the only reason we choose this property when staying in Phoenix. This trip is one of many positive experiences. The location is perfect it's quiet and safe. There is also a bistro area in the lobby, along with a Starbucks. This time, we checked in with Ryan at the front desk. He was fantastic. Ryan seemed to be happy to assist and very enjoyable to talk to. He's the person that needs to be at the front desk, interacting with the guests. When we arrived at our room, there were a few special momentous and a hand written note, from the friendly staff. Thanking us again for staying with them. It was a very special feeling, memorable and extremely thoughtful. As we continued to look around the room, we also noticed that the room had been fully remodeled. New shower, carpet, curtains, furniture and much more. It was beautiful. The entire hotel was being remodeled. This trip we were able to enjoy and utilize the outdoor pool in the evenings. The pool was very clean and temperature was perfect. Great and relaxing to end our long days. Our check out experience with Stacia was wonderful. She was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Matt was also there. We have always had a great check out experience with him too. They both made the rest of our stay complete. I stayed at this hotel for my college graduation from GCU. It was a nice clean hotel. The staff was friendly. The bristo restaurant they have in there is pretty good however I would say for the amount of food that you do get it was on the pricey side and service was a bit slow but overall had a good stay here and I would go back. read more

Courtyards are some of my fave places to stay on work or out of town trips. They have remodeled this Courtyard and everything was done right, and comfortable. I loved the cleaning staff here. They take the time to "neaten" your desk, bathroom toiletries and all requests such as high floor, away from the elevator, extra towels and pillows in my Marriott profile are honored. What's new? A place to hole up downstairs where you can watch a big screen, and order food, drink, cocktail while working. Lots of plugs everywhere next to sofas and desks. One less star for the gym area--it's in a room, no windows. Sigh. Wireless is free but I didn't try it as my phone and MIFI are my nomad tools and serve me just as well. Visits: 1 Tip: Right off the Freeway, about .5 mile. Food places abound. First Watch, next door, is the best breakfast/brunch resto in the area for organic/locally sourced products. Must have a car to be functional in this neighborhood. Very Central with CVS, all kinds of fast food and national restaurant chains abound. read more

This Courtyard Marriott hotel is beautiful. My room was paying for that beauty though at a rate of $170 (plus $3.91 occupancy sales tax, $12.36 State sales tax, and $5.10 city tax = 191.37). You can put a price on beauty. The greatest parts of any hotel stay are the shower, the bed, and amenities. The shower has excellent water pressure along with dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. My condition dispenser was broke for a day but after I reported it, it was restored. The body wash was great, I loved the smell and the mood it put me in. 4 stars for the shower. The bed, pillows and bedding were all super comfortable. 5 stars. I had a lot of trouble with the wifi so I used my mobile phone as a hotspot. I never asked for help. It's just that I never had to besides a wifi password. The downstairs has an excellent bistro for coffee and is a beautiful lay out. The lounge area accompanying it has lots of plugs for laptops and phones. Although I always ate at "First Watch" right next to the hotel. The place has a pool (unheated) but with convenient towels, a laundry room, and a gym. One interior decoration problem is that the tv is positioned on top of a dresser that makes is so you have to look right to watch tv instead of straight on. The best amenity of the stay was the customer service which was 5 star from the front desk to the bistro staff. The service made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. read more

I accidentally left no less than $350.00 in my room. I was called the same day informing me that I have left a "large sum" of money. I had $500 in $20 dollar bills and only spend $150 of it. When I received the money in an envelope several days later, there was only 6 - $20's, 1 - $10., 4 - $5's and 10- $1's. Like I pulled out a separate $20 each time I spent money. I NEVER do that. I DID NOT have all of that change. Had it equaled what I had left in the drawer, I wouldn't care but someone went through some trouble to make it look like a big roll when it was $175. short. They offered no explanation or compensation. NEVER AGAIN COURTYARD! read more

Overpriced and smelled like weed. The rooms are incredibly outdated and the "free breakfast" was a basket full of nature valley granola bars. They have fresh muffins delivered usually that didn't show up during my one day stay. Everything was at least relatively clean and safe. read more

This hotel was great for the cheap price! It's definitely not fancy but we were just looking for a place to sleep. No free breakfast but free wifi. Rooms are small and you can hear noise from the freeway that is located next to it all night but it's really not a huge deal. We would stay here again. read more

I came here in January 2021 to bring my daughter to Grand Canyon University. Katrina was my first contact as she was very pleasant and nice! I am here today (April 16, 2021) to pick my daughter up from GCU. Katrina is here again and she is super pleasant! She is very attentive to my requests. The reason I booked this hotel a second time is because of Katrina! She initially booked me on the 3rd floor but, because I am handicapped she gave me a room closer to the exit. This hotel should have 50 Katrina's! She is excellent at her job and it appears she really enjoys her job. She is one of a kind! When I asked the receptionist to go to https://www.speedtest.net, he told me nobody complains about the internet speed so I don't have to worry about it. Now I am at the hotel, and here is what I see: Download 4.87 Mbps, upload 4.76 Mbps. This is too slow to work. I am going to see if I can move to a different hotel with faster internet speed. Location wise, it is near a highway but not too noisy inside the room. You can still hear the driving but it is not as bad as outside. The wall are very thin. You can hear everything outside the hall (i.e. people taking showers). The bar in the hotel is closed, so you need to go out to eat every times. The voicemail system is full. So if the front desk is not available, you cannot drop a message. The house keeper will clean your room only per request. Someone broke into my 20 year old car which was parked right in front of my room. There was nothing visible from the outside. He stole about $25-$30 worth of stuff (earplugs, money, etc...). Finally, the place looks empty. read more

This hotel is tremendous. The rooms are clean and well designed. The beds are incredibly comfortable, with some of the most comfortable pillows. Every room has a balcony either facing outward or in towards the courtyard. The front desk has a small shopping area, the cafe is down in the lobby as well as seating for working or hanging outside the room. The courtyard is a great location as it has a fireplace, pool, and game room. The courtyard also has a few seating areas for outside seating. I would recommend this hotel for a great stay near/in the Phoenix area. We stayed in this hotel for spring training for the Mariners, which is a close 20 minutes from the hotel. read more

I'm not sure why people are expecting so much from this location but I thought for a one night's stay it was good enough for me with just a few qualms. They've done a great job remodeling the entrance and lobby but for such an old building, they can only do so much when it comes to the bedrooms. My only real complaint is that you can hear everything in the hallway no matter what. It's so loud and clear, you'd think you woke up to sudden Spider Man-like hearing when really it's just how the place is. I woke up on New Year's to a bunch of troll-heavy footsteps and kids chattering away at 8 am. What is there to even talk about at 8am, but I digress as I'm the world's worst human being alive in the morning. Also, I wish the back gates weren't closed at night as it makes driving to the entrance a pain since the hotel is located on the side of the highway. Other than that, if you're a Marriott Rewards member and need to stay in this area - I think it's a great way to redeem your category 1-5 free night as long as you're not holding high hopes that this will be a discount Ritz Carlton. read more

A friend, whom I was meeting in Arizona, selected the hotel and just told me where to book my room. I gave her my simple criteria, under $120 a night and a continental breakfast. She came back with this place at $130 a night and it's in a crummy area. I wasn't amused. Positive #1-I booked on Hotels.com a few days after her and the price had been reduced to $109. FYI-Hotels.com honored the lower price for her. Positive #2-I had a studio suite and it was nice. Laid out well, clean, fresh and modern. The bed was comfortable, good water pressure, and there was a refrigerator for me to store all my water bottles. Positive #3-They offer a fantastic continental breakfast each morning. Eggs, fresh fruit, freshly made waffles, toast, yogurt, meat, cereals. You name it! The staff was attentive and kept the area stocked and clean. Positive #4-A few nights a week they have something called The Mix where they serve a small dinner and beverages (beer and wine). Our first night they had hamburgers but we didn't attend. The second night was meatball sandwiches and that was our dinner. It wasn't fancy but it was good and free. Frozen meatballs in sauce with mozzarella melted over the top. They offered hamburger buns, fresh watermelon, and a nice salad. There was also a small selection of beer and wine. All you could eat and drink. It was perfection. Negative #1-The area surrounding the hotel is bad. I did, however, feel safe on the property because it's tucked away a bit. I also felt safe leaving my car outside. My wife and I were in the Phoenix / Scottsdale area on family business recently and found the Marriott to be ideally located. This complex is an attractive, well-kept facility with reasonably priced rooms. There are the typical amenities though no spa (which is disappointing). The staff is polite and helpful. We especially enjoyed the Bistro and found the offerings to be delicious if a bit overpriced. Would definitely stay here again if we visit in the future. read more

This is like a standard room Ctyd Marriott. Had to ask for a fridge to be brought in & it was big & luckily already cool unlike others where it comes in warm. No wireless. Very short ethernet cable. Best rate was $59 so it was not expensive. read more

Almost $300 for one night? This is a joke, right? Are we are on a hidden camera show? We were hassled when we tried to switch rooms because we wanted to be closer to our family that was in a different room. When we were finally moved, the A/C wasn't working so we were switched to yet another room. In the process of shuffling around to THREE different rooms I lost my pillow from home. The manager was very apologetic the next morning, so that was good but overall the stay was a disaster. I would say the quality is comparable to a Holiday Inn. No mini fridge, horrible TV, tons of bugs in the pool, no hot tub. There was a ping pong table outside which was fun and in good shape so I added a star for that and because the manager was very helpful the next morning. I wouldn't stay here again though. read more

My first night I felt like I was at the extension of the county drunk tank or an ASU dorm. Nothing but noise, they had a number of long-term customers staying for an umpire training camp and they were working on their calls until 2 am. The next day I did get moved to another room, an upgrade, of course it doesn't hurt to be Silver Elite. The rooms are okay, just another hotel. It is near the Black Canyon Conference Center but they chained off the short cut. It is a toss-up between this and the Sheraton down the street - not much of a choice. read more

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!! The room had hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower, an opened used hotel lotion bottle underneath the skirt of the bed and a USED CONDOM sticking out from under the couch. When we told the front desk, a lady with short brown hair suggested planted it there seeking compensation!! She then refuseed to apologize, only repeating they had never found a condom before I stayed there- not only rude but ridiculous. I have never been treated so poorly in all my life! Courtyard is my preferred choice of hotel whenever I am travelling. My only complaint is the design of the rooms, with the TV being on the side of the bed. It makes it hard to watch anything without getting a crick in your neck. I stayed at this Courtyard for one night. The room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The water pressure in the shower was perfect. They even extended my check-out 4 hours to accomodate my late flight out of Phoenix. read more

I have stayed in many courtyards and this one is one of my favorites. The staff is professional and very nice to us. I came with a group of 50+. They served us launch and the DOS greeted us one by one. The breakfast is great and I usually order Morning Scramble. There are other meals that you could order like Egg White Fruitata, healthy breakfast, and so on. I would say, my favorite is still morning scramble. The room was nice and clean. The bed is very comfortable and so do the pillows. One thing I would recommend to the hotel is replace the air condition unit. It's pretty loud and I had a hard time sleeping. However, If I turned it off, the room would get so hot then I would still wake up. I tried ear plug, but it didn't help much. Finally have staying here for 8 nights, I learned to turn the AC super low for a while, and then turn it off before going to bed. The pool is nice and clean, and there is always clean towels ready for you. Chaise Lounge chairs are a bit dirty due to the dust, The location is pretty good and there are lots of shops, restaurants and an amusement park across the highway. Giving it 5-stars because this hotel made my visit to Arizona very pleasant. I checked in very early and they were able to accommodate me with no problem. I even asked if I was able to have a late check out and their answer was YES!. I made a last minute reservation and the pricing was very reasonable ($69). I stay in hotels year long and I'm in this courtyard for about 3 weeks. The maids are extremely friendly and always say "Good morning" to me in the hallways. They have a good selection of food/drinks in the lobby. My company has meetings every night in the hotel and tonight they surprised us with fresh baked cookies. ONLY thing I wish was different is that the breakfast is $11. It's very delicious with a broad variety but most hots it's free and if not it's usually half the price of $11. But since everyone is so nice in the hotel I guess it makes up for it. Highly recommend! read more

I stayed here for the second time in 3 months. I had a great stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I didn't utilize the entire property as the reason for my stay was to cover the ArenaBowl in Glendale and not really for R&R. The hotel is just about 13-15 minutes north of the airport, depending on traffic. I don't see why this wouldn't be my go to hotel for my future visits to Phoenix. read more
