The Pollo Funditos have been good virtually every time (with only a couple of occasions). While a bit expensive they do occasionally offer some great deals. The only issue I and my fiancé have is that they have screwed up what should've been simple modifications on a number of occasions. Well, that and the fact we've been told authoritatively that the Funditos have only come with rice while others said, also authoritatively l, it came with rice and beans. Unfortunately, Some Burros left our family gathering disappointed. We ordered 4 items online for Father's Day. One item was incorrect and the nachos weren't up to their usual quality. I haven't been to this location for about 4 months. I came in today for my favorite item on the menu, the mexican pizza. Wow, how the quality in the food has changed. I ordered, received my chips and hot sauce and sat at a table inside. The hot sauce was extremely watery, hot sauce is not supposed to be like dipping your chips in red tinted water. The chips were fine but without decent hot sauce to enjoy them with, is a waste of the chips. My mexican pizza arrived, it looked more like an order of bruschetta than a mexican pizza. I suspect that they piled on the tomatoes to hide the fact that there was hardly any green chile meat on the pizza. Someone in management really needs to do some quality control at this location. This place used to be my favorite location for mexican food. What a shame that this place has lost the quality in food preparation that they used to have when they first opened in uptown. read more

These people here refused to serve any more alcohol to a group of 30 people that came to a birthday that we even had catered and spent over $600 there was only 14 margaritas out and she said there was too many alcoholic beverages out! Had tried this once before and thought it was decent but a little pricey. Gave it another go. Seems like they are trying to bring upscale Mexican food and fast-food together. Place is casual, and nicely decorated, and doesn't feel cafeteria-ish at all. Comfortable atmosphere. Ordered two bean and cheese burritos and the cheese enchiladas. Enchiladas are fantastic as their sauce is exquisite. Lost in the glare of that is their rice, which is extremely flavorful, and their beans are pretty good. The burros are very flavorful, but are smaller than most others, which makes the price a little high for them. $24 for the entire meal isn't bad these days, but wouldn't mind a bigger burro for that price - especially since that's what's on the sign. read more

It was hard to eat, not temperature wise, but spice wise that it kind of ruined the taste but the second time we had it there. It was delicious. We are definitely going back. Terrible customer service. My wife and i tried ordering through postmates. Someburros made changes to their menu awhile ago but refuses to update the postmates/grubhub sites. When i tried calling I was rudely told by the girl that "it's not our fault, we're just too busy to deal with it" Sorry, but the delivery services have made these restaurants a lot of money. It takes literally 5 minutes to call and update your menu. The vendor side of postmates is super quick. Instead you would rather cause your customers an hour headache trying to cancel an order, and paying a cancellation fee, because you are "too busy to deal with it". You can blame postmates, or the customers, or whoever. But it's literally just trash customer service. Shows the kind of ship you run, and I will not be using you guys, nor recommending you. read more

Unfortunately the food itself was such a disappointment :( I got taquitos which seemed to simply be the frozen ones you buy at the store. All of the food was cold. Someburros is consistently good with their service - especially during COVID their drive through has been a life-saver when we wanted to eat out and keep things clean & safe. They run a clean and safe restaurant, and our family has felt great about eating here. I give them four stars because we actually do like the food at Carolina's just a little bit better....but we still really like Someburro's. This evening my husband and I tried this restaurant (located on 7th Street, north of Camelback) for the first time and we both loved the food. He had the Pollo Fundido and I had the Barraca Burro. We tasted each other's burro and agreed that they were both delicious and could only eat half. I learned that this is a family owned business and their first restaurant was in Tempe. They now have restaurants in Chandler and Central Phoenix (where we dined tonight). And....this restaurant is ONLY in Arizona and not a chain -- which is what I like. The new building has an attractive curb appeal and comfortable, tastefully decorated interior. It's kind of a fast food place, has a drive thru, but a very nice, casual atmosphere and the employees were very friendly. I plan to go back for Taco Tuesday's and to try their desserts - churros and chimis. read more

This is what you get when you order a "bean" burrito - ALL TORTILLA. Their beans are good (wish I could've had more), tortilla was dry, rice was dry and lacked flavor. I also wish that "authentic" places wouldn't offer lemonade if it's not fresh. This isn't a fast food place, so don't serve poison-tasting "lemon" flavored sugar water. Service lacked. You know how you get that craving for Mexican food's rich, earthy, spicy, savory, stick to your ribs goodness, especially now with a chill in the air? I indulged mine with a two enchilada with beans & rice plate yesterday at Someburro's and it was everything I dreamed of and more! It was simply the best Mexican food fix I've had in memory! All was perfect - savory & moist rustic corn tortillas with a thick center of ooey gooey yellow cheese; delicious refried thick beans with a bean chunk here & there, perfect tender Mexican rice, and a wonderful aromatic & tasty brown gravy with a tasty green chunk of pepper here & there. I was in Mexican food heaven, closing my eyes & "mmmm-ing" loudly. Obviously I can't recommend this place highly enough! This food was the REAL DEAL! I can't speak for their other dishes because I'm all about enchiladas, beans, & rice! I am from Texas & have 50 years of eating Mexican food as my credentials. I looked up this company & learned they are Phoenix based & so far only in Arizona. Sadly, I'm moving to Tennessee next year. Hopefully this company will go National in the future! I've ordered delivery from this location several times now since I've moved near this area, and it's as good as the Tempe location that I had visited a couple times prior to the pandemic. I like to order a 1/2 pint of the veggie salsa, and mix in the hot sauce that they add on the side - sooo yummy with a nice kick. And I always, ALWAYS get the poncho villa: a red chili beef burro smothered enchilada style with red sauce, and a dollop of guacamole and sour cream on the side. I ordered a chicken quesadilla that I ended up eating in my car. Once I left the driveway, I was excited to park and open the tin foil to see what I hoped would be a yummy meal. I guess this restaurant doesn't have any knives because what I found was one giant quesadilla that had not been cut into triangles like most restaurants do (who doesn't love eating food shaped like small triangles?). So like a barbarian, I had to grab this huge thing and tear it into pieces. I'm not good at it at all, so I did a poor job of doing so, resulting in irregular pieces, some mostly tortilla and some with the top of the tortilla torn off. It was ugly and I felt like a caveman while eating it. If they're too lazy to cut the thing into triangles, they could at least throw a plastic knife into the bag so we don't have to tear our meal apart like hungry wolves. To top it off, the chicken was so unevenly distributed that some of it looked like what is pictured in my attached photo. Too much chicken on some pieces and no chicken at all on the others. Of the few pieces that had a normal distribution of chicken and that didn't have the tortilla torn to shreds (by me), it tasted pretty good I guess. Very upset to see that opening my bag after ordering a red chili burro and 2 chicken/1bean mini chimis i ended up getting a cold bean burrito and 1 beef chimi. The food was cold despite me opening the food 2 minutes after it was given to me in the drive thru. I used to really love this place but if I'm going to pay for a certain item I really do wish I get that item. Some of the blandest "Mexican food" I've had in years, I had to make a yelp account just to vent some frustration out, $26 for a home specialty plate of 3 taquitos that tasted like they came straight out the frozen section of a bashas and a shredded chicken burrito combo( that contained a tortilla ONLY filled with what tasted like slightly seasoned boiled chicken and some lettuce and rice on the SIDE). I don't get the hype about this place, I had tried their location in Chandler many times over several years because some of my friends liked it but never found anything I liked. My husband was excited to try their new Central Phoenix location so I gave it a shot. We went with a few friends and shared several dishes to get an idea of the food. I ordered the chicken machaca burrito, which was just really finely shredded chicken with some machaca seasoning, completely bland and boring. The rice was fair but the beans were just bad. My husband has never found a bean he doesn't like and even he couldn't find anything redeeming. I think the best thing we tried was the chicken fundito, which was still just okay. It's in the middle of Taco Bell and Taco Guild. Pretty cool to see a local family business grow. The place is clean and bright. The have a digital ordering station which can be convenient depending on your plans. Love the chimis. The ingredients are fresh and the counter folks are polite and helpful.
