After living here for roughly almost 2 years now I'm starting to feel that this apartment complex is turning into a section 8 facility area.. when i initially moved in back in 2024 it was amazing but once they changed who is running the office or management, it has went downhill. Residents are filthy when throwing away their trash with no consideration if the bag opens with trash all over the floor. Also this is the 3rd night of not getting sleep due to people in their car smoking bumping their bass music from 11:30-1 at night. When some of us have to wake up early for work. Just moved in! I haven't settled in just yet, but I'm already feeling like this is home thanks to Tee and Andrew! They helped me a bunch and so thankful to them! Upon the move in, Tee explained everything and I already feel a good sense of security :) They take parking matters seriously and I have absolutely no problem with that. Guests and unregistered cars are a no go, and I'm really happy with that! My previous apartment complex has a huge problem with that, there would be random cars parked on free guest spots for days and even WEEKS, maintenance or security doesn't do anything about it. I have problems finding parking as it is, so my new home here will make me feel less stressed and more safe. I'm all about rules to make residents like myself feel safe where they live. I'll update once I settle in and have a better understanding on my new living environment :) read more

Isai with the maintenance team handled my request flawlessly. I had some old electrical outlets that were loose from overuse and previous tenants. Within 24 Hours, he replaced them in the two main rooms that I needed and offered to fix the rest at a later time, so he is excellent in providing high quality services. And he used the shoe covers - so that's class plus service. The new outlets are working perfectly, and items that I plug in aren't falling or leaning out. It is all firm now! I'll be sure to have an easy time when I need to work from home. read more

Do not rent here!!!!!! When I first moved in it was a very nice and quiet complex after the 1st year it changed we went through 3 different office people. And the complex got worse. My car was broken into and all the manager said we'll we can't control those things. Keith who i thought was a security guard turns out he's just a night maintenance person who tickets cars and throws the trash but he usually dissappear to rosewood complex, the gate is always broken homeless are always in the gate I've seen a druggie slumped on the bench, I've witnessed a random drunk peeing on a bush near an apartment then walked out the front gate and this was all brought to the offices attention and again they said it's at night time that I should call PD, homeless people have been in the pool at 2am. The only person who cares about that property is Felix the groundsman he takes pride in his job. The playground is just sad they said they were going to rebuild it when i first moved in poor kids have nothing fun to do there, and let's be honest the price of rent there is definitely not worth it... so with that being said LOOK ELSEWHERE you won't be happy read more

Tonight my car got towed by KEITH the security guard because I was 30 mins late to register my car because I was deep cleaning due to CARPET MITES. Went outside to get something from my car and it was gone! Had an agreement with management regarding my car and the night guard said that management was wrong and he never agreed to those times. Pretty sure management trumps security guard! Not to mention KEITH had told my sister and I that THREE cars have been stolen this year alone! So the utter panic and stress that consumed my entire body was insane. Called the towing company for them to tell me is $660 to recover my vehicle!! Who has that kind of extra cash?? read more

This is a shout-out to Keith, our night time service manager. Our "nighttime superhero" has become like family for me, checking on me after my surgery and making sure we all are safe. Also the maintenance professional here, Asai has also been available both times that I have called on him. It all helps to make me feel important as if everyone else that lives here. I'm a current tenant and with this policy that the management is trying to uphold is very inconvenient for the registered tenants. Policy: is only 2 cars per unit are allowed (our unit is 2bed/2bth/3registered tenants). Extra vehicles are given a permit as guess for 15days a month inside the gate and you'll have to park outside for the rest of the month. 1bd=2car permit 2bd=2car permit (really?!) that's very unfair and stupid! My take for this is, they should set a better policy because: 1. Very inconvenient for the other tenant. 2. They assign a human monitor at the gate to make sure who goes in and out of the gate are the real registered tenants. 3. Monthly updates on the numbers of vehicles should per unit should included on the monthly statement. 4. 1bd/2cars policy, 2bd/4cars policy should be. Right now, this changes took a toll of their customer service from me. If people will ask me about this apartment, I will not hesitate to tell them about this policy and how it's affecting me as a tenant. Because, most renters drives a car and not being able to park your car inside a gated apartment complex is a big deal for any renter. Our original plan of staying here for the next 3-5yrs is cut short to just one. I'll be looking for a much better apartment policy in 9months. This management clearly needs a better person to handle and manage these changes. read more

I lived here two years, and I would say I had no complaints UNTIL covid came. Pros: I always felt safe here, even if I go on a walk or something late at night. The staff has super responsive and great with any kind of repair or issue. Shout out to Felix, who was super helpful in so many situations. Cons: Once covid came, and many of the students moved out, I noticed that the new tenants that lived around me had... issues. In like 3 or 4 of the apartments near me. I've heard a lot of yelling and shouting, sometimes at 1-3 am (though the management was great with my noise complaints). There were times where I was almost tempted to call the police because of how much they were screaming; I was worried there was some kind of domestic violence situation going on. Also I never had an issue with smokers before, but after the new tenants moved in people smoked outside my window all the time. There would be cigarette butts all over the ground. I had to sleep with my windows closed because my downstairs neighbor liked smoking at 1 am every night. And my bathroom stank of cigarettes because it would go through my air conditioning vents. Eventually I got used to the smell, but when I moved out, ALL my stuff REEKED of cigarette smoke. I had to do several loads of laundry to get the stink out of my clothes (note - I do not smoke so all of this was second hand). I'm worried if I'll have any type of long term side effects from that just because of how bad the cigarette smell penetrated my stuff. I recommend you move to a "smoke free" apartment if you come here. read more

After a little over three years, it is time to say goodbye to Somerset, her terrific staff, and our great neighbors. Somerset has been our home the past three years since moving from Alhambra. Shaun, Felix, Chris, and all staff have been absolute professionals and have done a great job in making our stay memorable. Service requests are promptly addressed, the community grounds are safe and clean, and routine maintenance are scheduled throughout the year. I've had the experience of living in over 5 different apartment complexes and hands down, Somerset is my favorite for so many reasons. I've never met an apartment community staff so amicable, attentive, accommodating, and enjoyable to be around! PAMALA is so down to earth and sometimes I just walk into the office with my dog for a coffee break (and a dog treat for her) if I'm bored at home or just going for a walk around the complex. I love that there are a lot of trees around the complex. I like to leave my shades open and just take in the nature and sunlight. Felix is the Hagrid to my Hogwarts! He's the groundskeeper here and he's always asking if everything is ok and if there's anything he can do to help me. One day I noticed the light was out in front of my apartment and I saw him and told him, and he was on top of it! Service requests are easy to submit and quick to complete. Shaun, the maintenance supervisor, is friendly and respectful, and completes service requests in a timely manner. Active Building is an app we use to easily be able to pay our rent, submit service requests, connect with other residents, and learn about upcoming community events (which is another amazing perk!). I've never lived in a community with so many events! We've had a Cinco de Mayo fiesta, discounted movie and laser tag nights, and this coming Friday, the staff is arriving early to hand out breakfast to residents on their way to work! Who does that?! Chris, the community director, is really awesome and down to earth as well. He tells me about all the events coming up and the improvements they're making to the complex. One of the cool features we have now is being able to open the front gate (both the car gate and walk in gate) with a simple call to the resident and we just have to press a number! One of the recent changes we've had is called "Poo Prints" where the staff would have the owner take a saliva sample of our dogs and if abandoned feces is found, they will trace it to the resident's dog. I love this because, if you pick up after your dog, you have nothing to worry about, and if you dont....they will find you and your dog! Another change is the use of parking permits. We have unassigned parking (I was unsure if I'd like it prior to moving in, but I have rarely had problems with it) but because of space issue in comparison to amount of residents, they had to enforce the car limit with these permits. I don't have an issue with this either as there is only one car to my apartment, but I can see how some people can be frustrated who own more cars. The staff is understanding and accommodating and you can go on Active Building and fill out a guest parking pass for up to 15 days which is a lot more accommodating than other complexes I've experienced! I am a woman who lives alone and I feel safe here. I'm a paranoid person, so I am definitely on guard but I have yet to come across anything outside of my paranoid imagination. I can walk my dog at any time (sometimes at midnight) and I don't feel like my safety is compromised. We have a night service manager, Will, who I've seen a few times. I haven't had a real chance to talk to him but he seems really nice! I'm not usually out super late, but on occasion I'll see him walking around, and we have magnets with everyone's information so I can call him if I need him for anything. So. I love this place. Great people, great location (not far from downtown and Loma Linda healthcare facilities where I work), great events, I feel safe, and the apartment itself is amazing! Washer and Dryer IN the units is what really sold me and I love my balcony! Call PAMALA and she'll gladly show you around! (...or James...he works there too...he's pretty cool :) ).....I'm going to stay here as long as I can! read more

There was one issue with my AC, but Holly, the GM, and Chris, the property manager, did the right thing and made it right. The apartment I live in is nice and I enjoy going home every day. Because of Erica Hall I was able to meet the awesome ladies. Janeen and Michelle that helped myself and my family find a place that I didn't even expect that I would be able to get. Janeen was so helpful and compassionate about our situation. Michelle has such a welcoming and positive energy. Any question I had or confusion she was there. The Lewis company picked a wonderful staff to represent there company. When I move again I will make sure to look for this company. I currently live here and am desperately waiting for my lease to be up. The rent is already ridiculously high but then they add fees and extra charges out of nowhere. They claim the high rent pays for "security" but my car got broken into the first week and another tenants bike was stolen. The icing on the cake is that they recently issued parking permits allowing only two cars per unit to park in the gate. We have had 3 tenants in our unit since day one and we are all on the lease and paying rent. Now one of us (young females) has to walk from the street at 11p.m. in a bad neighborhood while there are plenty of open spaces inside the gate. Although it's a very nice apartment complex, it's clear that the managers don't care about their tenants. I would not recommend living here. read more

I've lived in various apartment complexes and Somerset has to my favorite community to live in because the community is quiet, I feel safe in this area and the staff friendly and responsive. To me, it is imperative to have a place to call home and look forward to coming home after a long day at school or work--Somerset is that place! The staff in the community are friendly and responsive. The staff in the leasing office are all amazing! The leasing process was simple Amber, Theresa, and Denise throw events for the community every now and then. Maintenance is fantasic!Shawn responds to maintenance requests within 24 hours and everything is fixed in a timely manner. I once had a major problem with my A/C, Lewis Apartment Communities put me up in a hotel while they were fixing my A/C. Felix keeps the grounds immaculate and the flora in the community is beautiful, everything is lovely and green...maybe it's the Arizonan in me that appreciates the green space....who knows?!? The community is quiet and safe, which benefits me as a grad student. It's great for studying! The majority of the residents seem to either be students or staff from nearby Loma Linda University or new families. My neighbors are all nice and quiet too. Occasionally I'll see security or the night manager walking around. Additionally, there is a lot of lighting in the community, which also makes me feel safer. As a student, I've come to terms with the fact that I was going to be moving every year...luckily since moving here, I've resigned my lease year after year. It's because of the safe and quiet community, as well as the friendly staff, that I keep resigning my lease. Somerset is an amazing place to live, and I will continue to live here until I graduate school and continue on with the next chapter in my work life. read more

My husband and I were weeks away from being married and had no place to live, we we're getting thr run around at other locations. When we came in Chris was excellent, he was so nice and reassuring, took time to get to know me a bit, showed me an apt and I fell in love! The process was quick and painless and Chris was there helping us through every step. We were able to get our apartment a day before our move in date which was so helpful because we were getting married 4 days after and needed to start getting settled in. It's been three years since I've moved here with my family. The fact that I just got married last year and knowing my wife love this apartment, it's a plus plus plus. When it comes to Somerset Management... the office are full with awesome people! Chris and Pam are very great people to talk with and easy to reach whenever we need them. We are very thankful for always being there for us! Shaun is a very efficient guy, from fixing our windows, problems in our bath room, kitchen, you name it, he will come like in any second.. and it is also a great great plus to have Felix who is always out there to make sure our gate entrance, and everything surrounded our apartment is clean. Also knowing that Felix is always have his time to stop from whatever that he is doing to just say "Hi.." and trying to carry a short convo with ya, that is very nice of him to do that. And when it comes to neighborhood, what can we say?!! 5 to 10 minutes of walking to Walmart and Food for Less, Gas Station, Applebee's, Jack in the Box.. and 7 minutes driving to Harkins Theater and Redlands Mountain Groove shopping center.. I've lived in over 20 apartments in my life and my experience at Somerset was one of the best. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, The appliances in my apartment were nearly new. While there, they put in new A/C and heaters in all units and repainted the place. My neighbors were exceptionally quiet and the ones I met were very nice. Were it not for a job relocation, I would have renewed my lease without hesitation. To be fair, there were two minor issues: first, my apartment was right next to Redlands Blvd. The traffic noise wasn't as bad as I expected, but if you are sensitive to such be aware of that. Also be prepared for a near nightly fire engine to go by from the station down the street! Second, a lamppost was just outside my bedroom window. This easily remedied with some dark, felt-like cloth and would apply to only a few apartments. Neither of these issues are enough to knock off a star. read more

I lived in an upstairs one-bedroom for about a year. I went to the University of Redlands and I had one roommate and overall my experience was a very positive one. There were some of the usual problems associated with apartment living (neighbor smoking became an issue for me because I'm sensitive and I heard that in spite of the gate some people got their cars broken into) but I think this was one of the better apartment experiences I had in and around Redlands. We encountered no insect or flooding problems, things were very professional, the grounds were well kept and there were lots of children. It was a very safe and pretty little complex with birds, butterflies, lizards and constantly blooming magnolias. I was happy to live there and sorry to move. I'd be happy to answer any questions about the complex as my knowledge stands, though I did leave it a year ago. read more

I have lived here for 5yrs going on 6. I am very happy living here. The problems that have happened here were solved very quickly. Never had to wait for more then a couple of hours. My neighbors have been great, no complaints. Just updated paint on all the buildings. Looks great. Maintenance has been kept up really good. Felix Lopez the grounds keeper has done a great job. Glad to have Sean back. Feels like he gets things done. Chris the manager is awesome. Makes you feels like he really cares and it's not just a job for him. I know a couple of people are having a hard time with this whole parking thing. But I really feel that it's a great thing. I had 3 cars but had to sell 1 of them. No biggie. Look at it this way. No extra insurance and tags lol. For the people complaining about your 3-9 cars. Maybe you guys should buy a house and stop complaining about Lewis corporation rules. It's right in front you on your leasing agreement that YOU SIGNED. 2 cars. Not 3 or 4. 2 so that's your fault for not reading YOUR leasing agreement. Somerset has been more the fare and flexible with all there residents. This is a great place to live. I would recommend this place to anyone. You have everything here. Walmart,food4less, pizza, Chinese etc. minutes away from downtown Redlands. Mission elementary across the street is amazing. Last but not least. Wil the night service manager. I just gave my 30 day notice today and it is so hard to do. This is an amazing, family oriented place to live. The staff truly is the best part. They treat you like you are literally their family! It is safe, because they view the residents safety as a priority. They are honest, trust worthy and kind. Whenever I stop in for a need or to say hi, or I call, I am always greeted with a warm and welcomed hello. When my grandmother was unexpectedly hospitalized, I could genuinely see their concern for my hurt. Their empathy was evident when they sent me a card signed by everyone in the office to send love through my troubled time. They could have just sent a Christmas card which would have been painful to me as it didn't feel like Christmas. I feel blessed to have lived here and Id integrity, safety, and a quiet family environment is important to you, then I recommend this location to all of you. The bar is so high, I am not expecting much from my new place but I know that I need to be closer to family during this time of loss, and that includes a new job and new apartment. read more
