I'm just going to be honest and say I got stressed, buying a wedding dress was on my checklist, so I went off to a chain bridal all by myself and bought myself a dress one day. Less than a week later, I had buyers remorse. Uh oh... what did I do? The dress I had purchased was 25% over budget, nobody had seen me in it, and looking back at the photos when I tried on the dress in store, I realized I didn't feel/look my best in it. In fact, it made me feel fat and self-conscious! Crap, what was I going to do?!?! Luckily, I was able to make an appointment with Stacey of Something Old, Something New. I brought my two best girlfriends, and told her what had happened. She said, "don't worry about it. Try to return it, and if you can't, I can help you resell it here." PHEW! Ok then, so let's find a new dress I feel good in. Stacey and I talked about budget and what/how I wanted to feel, then she told me to just go wild!!! She said look at dresses in this section, and pull any dress you think you MIGHT like. What? She wanted me to play dress up? Yup! Stacey and her team were NOT pushy nor they rush me to try dresses on faster or make a decision. They just had me try things on, tell them what I did/didn't like about each dress so we could figure out what dress was right for me and made ME feel pretty. They helped me clip up and the lighting, platform, and mirrors they had helped me see ME fully in any dress. When they could see I liked something, they asked if I wanted to try it with accessories. The best part was that I had their full attention, but not like TOO much attention. They helped me get into the dress and walk out to the big mirrors to show my friends and then they stood back, and let me see myself in the dress, and how I/we liked it. Unlike when I was at the chain store, the lighting here was perfect, the mirrors were huge, and the platform to stand on made me feel royal. It really elevated the dresses details and showed me how beautiful and confident I could feel if I wasn't feeling self-conscious. I must have tried on at least 15-20 dresses that afternoon. Some dresses, I was immediately able to say, "nope" to, there were some maybes, then there were 2 that I absolutely loved. I honestly couldn't believe how different these dresses were from the one I had bought on a whim. The level of detail, the style, the fit, it was ALL completely different. I ended up picking MY dress that afternoon, and it was $1 less than my budget. AMAZING! How freaking fantastic! Let me add that my experience was amazing every time, this first time appointment, my 1st fitting, my second fitting, and even when I decided to bring MY dress back to consign. Stacey is amazing. Since we had a tiny wedding during the pandemic, I'm partially hoping to celebrate again one day so that I can go shopping at Something Old, Something New again. =). Did I mention that they have an amazing collection of styles yet? Cause they do. Do not trust these people with your dress!! When I took my gown in they told me it was lovely and they would price it at $699. After I had driven home (45 minutes), I received an email saying they would price it for $300. I was disappointed, but I still agreed. Then I contacted them on multiple occasions to check in without hearing back. When they finally wrote me back, they told me I know owe them money. Incredibly disappointing. I found the dress of my dreams here!! It was the smaller shop, now they are in a bigger location I guess but that only means more to choose from! I just loved so many of the dresses she had. I tried on probably 15 dresses or maybe more, and loved almost all of them. Stacy made me feel very comfortable and never rushed. She never pressured me to buy anything. I found a brand new designer dress here that was thousands less than it would be in the stores. She said sometimes they get overstock from warehouses with brand new designs and that was one of them! I found a true gem of a dress for under $1000!! It was never worn! The dresses that were used were all super clean and looked brand new also. I had such a hard time deciding but she let me sit in my dress and hang out for 45 minutes trying to decide if I was making the right choice, again never pressuring me to buy anything or rushing me even though she was about to close. I'm conflicted with posting this review. I'm tempted to give three stars because I like their business model but I'm opting for 2 because, my experience here was pretty negative. Let me explain: The owner cancelled my appointment because she is moving to Temecula. Online the shop posted they were having an off the rack sale (I'm assuming in preparation for the move) and no appointments were necessary a certain Saturday. I drove 45 minutes to go check out the sale. I showed up and the owner admitted she was unprepared for the sale day. No one else was there--a sign on the door still read "appointments required." I was impressed with the number of dresses the store had but didn't find any that were the right one for me (looking for a particular style). The owner was not very helpful, I got dressed on my own. My friend wanted to see me in a ballgown and the woman put our ballgown sample dress back on the rack because "it's not what I wanted"--the point is to try different styles to figure out what I want and I didn't appreciate her putting the dress back on the rack without explanation. The woman didn't listen to me, and frequently ignored my questions. She kept COUGHING -and one time straight in my face...hello have we not heard of covid? I accidentally left my shoes there (walked out in another pair) and my friends who were nearby went back to get them a few hours later and the shop was already closed despite it being within their posted business hours. I called and called to try to reach the owner, no answer. Next day I get a cryptic text saying I could pick up my shoes at a certain time...I live 45 mins away and wasn't going to make it in time...I told her what time I could be there within her business hours, she said she wouldn't be here...I rushed up there anyway to grab my shoes and she was seeing another appointment-I think she just lied to me? I ran in and grabbed my shoes-quickly said thanks. Her attitude made me glad I didn't purchase a dress from her. Let me start by saying I ordered 15 dresses online and nothing worked or fit right. I was deflated and over the whole process already. So my sister made an appointment with Stacey and I almost didn't go! I am a plus size bride and was giving up on anything fitting. I was wrong! As soon as I entered this shop I knew I would find the perfect wedding dress here! The shop owner asked about style and budget before showing me all the options. I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted and she even brought more from the back once she saw my preferences. I found the most wonderful dress that fit beautifully and it was under budget! The seamstress did a fantastic job with the fitting and adding straps. The staff was great about being COVID conscious, with only one group in the store at a time and masks were worn. I loved the decor in the shop, the jewelry and shoes available, as well as the ease of picking up the dress before the wedding. I was comfortable and cared for. Which is completely fine and being a small business owner myself (by app only) I understand that, but the nasty attitude and body language really told us more info than we were looking for. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE !!!! I would give ZERO stars if Yelp would let me. We came in with high expectations and were extremely disappointed by the service Stacy provided. First off, she was not welcoming. Additionally, she is evidently not POC friendly. When our Black friend arrived, Stacy told us to leave her outside, that type of statement is so out of line. When it came to trying on dresses, she intentionally steered away from the budget. Stacy tried to force the bride (my bestfriend) to like dresses she obviously did not want to wear for her big day and were way outside of the budget. To make matters worse, she fat shamed the bride by saying "None of these dresses are in your budget, they're just the only size range for you". Okay? And? That's rude! You could have worded it differently. Lastly, when the bride changed her mind and wanted to try on a pink/blush dress, Stacy reused to let her try it on. We love the idea of shopping local, but after today's experience we do not plan on coming back. That was the worst 30min experience. Highly recommend this shop! A couple of months ago I made an appointment at their little shop, just a week or two before they relocated down the street. Let me start off by saying what an amazing experience it was. Stacey, the owner, greeted my mom and I when we came in and immediately made us feel warm and welcome. I think I need to put a little preface here: before coming to this store I called my mom with an anxiety attack. I had already been to several high end bridal shops and, while many dresses had me emotional, none of the dresses felt like the one. I was scared my taste was too expensive, and terrified I wouldn't find that perfect dress. My mom calmed my nerves and we set up an appointment for this shop. Coming in, I had no intentions of buying a dress. My wedding is 10 months away and I figured I had time to decide. Stacy, the owner, greeted us and she was absolutely wonderful. She worked really hard to find a style I enjoyed and see what I wasn't liking about others. Midway through trying on dresses she goes "welp we shouldn't put this one off any further" and proceeded to grab a dress I'd had my eye on the whole time. The dress fit like a glove! And was the most gorgeous thing I've ever worn. To be honest normal clothes feel so silly now, after having worn such an incredible dress. She even had a crown to match! I ended up buying my dress and I'm so thrilled. Stacy even gave me a sixpence for good luck which was the icing on top of a wonderful day. Thanks Stacy!! The place is very cute and I like the room used for family to view the dresses but the owner was rude. It seemed like she didn't want us there and I personally didn't feel comfortable or welcome. Her chosen dress is beautifully draped, candle light white, very flattering. We will need to have alterations done since she is now pregnant (unexpected but welcome surprise). I sold my wedding dress here and highly recommend it! It was an easy process from start to finish. Stacey clearly communicated verbally and via the written contract what to expect. She was very friendly and professional throughout this process. My dress sold in the midst of the COVID pandemic and Stacey honored the contract we agreed upon pre-pandemic. I really respect her integrity. The profit margin for me was honestly a bit less than I was hoping to get because I received 50% of what the dress is sold for minus the cleaning fee (since I didn't get mine professionally cleaned after my wedding), but the ease of the sale process was worth it. I feel like I was scammed. I was originally satisfied with my experience. However, after taking my dress home, I am upset. On the website, the owner states, "I am inspired by a good bargain and committed to helping brides find the perfect gown at a perfect price. There is no reason to ever pay retail for your wedding dress." Reading this, you'd think all dresses here are under retail value. Wrong - I just learned that I purchased a dress for $250 at this store when I could have bought it for $98 unused from another. Between trying it on and purchasing, she removed the tag with the dress name that I was going to Google later. Now I see why. I would not suggest this store to anyone. If you go, please do your homework as I don't think the owner can be trusted to live up to her statements on her page. **In response to the owner: If this I isn't a scam, it's at least dishonest and deceptive. On your website you claim to believe a bride should never have to pay retail for their dress. So that means you purchase a $100 dress (new according to you) and mark it up over twice the retail value? Maybe you should add a foot note saying, "Don't believe me. Do your homework."
