First off, I luv good Thai food. It's been a while, but was happy to get back to Somewhere in Bangkok to meet some friends/former co-worker. In my opinion, this is one of the best Thai options in the central/northern CT area. Their Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) is great, and bursts with flavor! We really liked the Summer Roll so much we got a 2nd order... it's nice that they neatly cut the rolls into bit-sized slices. My buddy got the crab bag app, and he enjoyed. The decor of this restaurant is nice and bright/open with plenty of windows. Service was perfectly attentive.

What an amazing find! It's absolutely cute and clean inside and decorations are up depending on the holiday. Walked into the bubble tea/dessert area that can be taken to go with the dining area more secluded into the restaurant. It's a tough choice with the menu because everything looked so good. I would say the milk tea is one of the best I have ever had. The lettuce wraps is nicely presented. The cilantro adds freshness and the sauce adds a good flavor. The peanuts add a good crunch. It that was a meal, I'm signing up! All of us on our table gobbled up our whole meal. I would add a bit more spice or curry to the Jungle curry. Otherwise, everything was great! Our server was really nice too.

Back again for more boba. This time, I got the Vietnamese Coffee Milk Tea with Coffee Jelly (less sweet). I really enjoyed it. I wish it was even less sweet, but I guess the sugar level can only be adjusted so much when one of the main ingredients in Vietnamese coffee is condensed milk. Either way, the flavor of the drink was good, and I liked the texture and taste of the coffee jelly. It was flavorful but not too overpowering like some can be. I would get this again. *They also let you spin a wheel if you order a special drink, and so far I've won 2 free small bobas!

Food was spectacular. Came for my brother's birthday and everyone enjoyed their dish. A lot of flavor. Definitely new favorite Thai spot.

The food here is really good. The noodles taste fresh and the portion size is great. Service is really fast and they also have a lot of bubble tea options. One of the best Thai restaurants in Southington.

I love me some Thai food and I was craving some Pad Thai. I grab a friend and headed to Somewhere in Bangkok. I usually come here for a to go order of their boba which is in the front when you walk in. The restaurant seating area and pretty small but always clean. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not too busy. It was a bit warm in the restaurant but we were also in the middle of a heat wave. The waitress was nice and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly but we were the only one there. We decided to start with the popular shrimp and the calamari. The popular shrimp was nicely crispy and was toss in mild creamy mayonnaise sauce. I was pleasantly surprised by the crisp sweet apples in it. It pairs nicely with the creamy sauce. The calamari was standard and delicious. I always love dipping it in sweet chili sauce. I order chicken Pad Thai, and it was good for me. There some places that makes it soggy but it was cooked the way I like it. It was missing some crush peanuts and a wedge of lime. But I get that people have allergies. Maybe I will request it next time. Now I like my Thai food a bit spicy and I'm glad that had the chili rack. The rack had pickle jalapeños, roasted chili powder, chili oil and chili paste. I was able to adjust the spiciest of my dish the way I like it. I also order a rose and lychee green tea, which was refreshing with its floral and tangy flavor. Overall I had a good experience and will be coming back.

Somewhere In Bangkok was so delicious, I will definitely be back for more! They specialize in authentic Thai cuisine serving up familiar staples to more traditional dishes if you are seeking to expand your taste buds. The menu has a lot of options from salads, stir-fry, curry, noodles, and specialty entrees. They have a small dining room and you can order for carry-out too. There are fun and adorable boba/animal plushies, key chains and gifts for sale too. I ordered the Mango Curry with tofu and vegetables. The waitress was very kind because I had to bring up my food allergy and she took note. The curry was very good... Curry is one of my favorite dishes. The broth was spicy, coconutty, and smooth. The mango on top was perfectly ripe as sweet. There was a generous amount of veggies were cooked wonderfully, still have a nice crunch. The tofu was tasty and had a perfect golden fried coating. It was also served with a small bowl of rice. I had leftovers because I wanted to save room for an Ube Boba Tea on our way out. There was a separate menu for the boba tea--Bangkok Boba Tea--that you order at the counter when you first walk into the restaurant. This was a little confusing, but we figured it out. The boba menu had a of flavors with real pictures of what the drink looked like. My Ube drink was visually neat, dark Ube paste smeared around the cup and the pastel purple of the milk tea. The boba was some of the best I ever had, soft, chewy and lightly sweet. The drink was very sweet and glad I saved it for my dessert. Everyone I was with also enjoyed their dishes. My husband got a steak salad dish that tasted like how his mother makes it, so he was pleased. He also enjoyed a Thai Iced Tea. For four people, plus two drinks, our bill was reasonable, around $85. I can see us becoming regulars at Somewhere In Bangkok. There were a few other items that I'd like to try like the Crab Fried Rice. I can't wait to drink my way through the boba tea menu too.

We ordered take out through DoorDash. We did not experience the ambiance of service unfortunately so I can only rate on the food. Pad Thai- the pad Thai was good but needed more sauce. The menu stated that it would have a Thai sauce but it was very dry and hard to finish. The taste was great! Just needed more sauce. Mango curry- my husband had this and enjoyed it! Definitely lived up to its name. Lastly the crab bags! We expected them to be like crab rangoons but they were different. Delicious and the sauce with them was our favorite.

Great food. Great service. Decent pricing. Very clean. This has been our go to for takeout but in person is great too!

This place definitely makes money! Who thought a Tuesday would be BUSTLING?! My family and I made reservations for 4 people at 6:30pm. It is clear that this restaurant is understaffed. The phone was ringing off the hook for takeout orders and there were parties waiting to be seated in addition to us. We waited about 25 minutes until we asked if we could sit outside. It took another 25 minutes for our waters to come out and order to be taken. I know the 3 girls working were overwhelmed and I have no idea what was happening in the kitchen because our food took over an hour to come out. It started to rain and there was a table available inside so we were able to move. My sister ordered a bubble tea that she didn't get until 30 minutes later where she went to grab it herself. I had a ginger ale that also took a long time to come out also. For appetizers we ordered the papaya salad, wings and egg rolls. We were starving and inhaled the food! For entrees we ordered pad Thai, pad see euw, drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice. Oddly, the pad see euw had the same noodles as the pad Thai so I assumed they must've run out of the thick noodles. I wish they would've told us that they ran out of the thick noodles because we had 3 dishes with the same noodles. I also thought Chinese broccoli came with the noodles instead of the regular broccoli. Maybe I'm accustomed to the quicker service we receive living in Brooklyn and being notified if something runs out (which rarely happens in NYC). The food was alright, we felt like it could have used some salt or more seasoning. Overall, I recommend making a reservation to limit your wait time. We thought it'd be an off peak time but it clearly wasn't. We enjoyed each other's company but there was also a rowdy group that was extremely loud it felt like we were in a cafeteria. It's a cute restaurant with and extensive menu and the bubble tea stand gets busy as well. The restaurant has got a lot to offer. They did try to kind of make it right by giving us a small discount which was the right thing to do. I hope this restaurant hires more wait staff and cooking staff because it was way too busy for the amount of people working. Other tables were upset for how long their food was taking to come out as well. Love supporting small businesses and I hope this restaurant can handle its capacity better in the future!

9.16.21 Finally made it but they fell short.

2.28.22 I'd have to say this place is a pass for me. My most recent experience unfortunately fell short. As soon as I got out to the car I dipped in for a quick taste before going home. The Bangkok eggrolls weren't good at all. They were actually cold & a sort of limp. They weren't crispy at all. No crunch. Womp womp. I went back in and asked Crystal and she was no help. She said oh they cook those first and they were probably sitting around & ready before your meal was. She didn't offer to exchange them for fresh warm & hot newly crispy made ones. The Laab chicken was just ok. Pretty good taste. I've had better at other places. There were too many onions in it for my liking. The restaurant itself is very clean. The parking lot is an odd & awkward one that's shared with other businesses. Tight parking area. I am very surprised with this quality of food I received, especially with all of their awards and better reviews.

    This take-out bag is crazy.

I've always heard such good about this restaurant and was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately I was a little puzzled when looking for the "wow" factor that gave this nice little restaurant in the middle of an auto repair lot over 250+ reviews and a very positive rating on Yelp. My first visit was good but nothing too special. I'm wondering what this hype was all about. Their drunken noodles were good! Nothing else I could say. When I ate it with my girlfriend, we both took the first bite and made no eye-contact and just said "yeah it's good". But usually when something actually is "REALLY GOOD" or "GREAT" we'd take the first bite, make uncomfortably deep eye-contact and proceed to burn our mouths with the amazing textures/flavors. It was that type of good, in the bad way, if you know what I mean. Now on the second visit, it was we made eye-contact in a "wow what the hell" kind of way. My drunken noodles were......"NOT GOOD". The noodles were undercooked, or at least they were a little hard and dry. The best part of the flat rice noodles are the moist and chewy texture. This time I had neither. The noodles seemed to be like little bits and extremely small pieces of whatever was left for flat rice noodles and they tossed it up and called it drunken noodles. Depressing is how I'd like to describe these noodles. The first time I was ever disappointed in my favorite dish. Now for the Pad Woon Sen, it was just OK. It seemed like the ingredients weren't tossed very well as nothing seemed to go together as it usually would. If I closed my eyes I'd think I'm eating a salad when I bite vegetables and a chinese chicken dish when I bite the chicken. The noodles didn't really have any flavor at all! I'd just believe I was eating plain glass noodles. Shrimp Summer Rolls, what can I say? I've had better. Pad Woon Sen was a home run in terms of portion size as it normally is but the drunken noodles were on the smaller side and really just disappointed me. It's like not only was the portion of a lunch size which is also cheaper but it was less food, more money, and the food I got wasn't even good. Service was nice both times I came around. With such great ratings despite both of my experiences, the food lacked positivity overall. I'm gonna assume this place's quality is going downhill and is rather lost.........Somewhere in Bangkok. HA. I can forgive but never forget, hopefully they can impress me next time.

The drunken noodles had real flavor and actual spice--thank you for not watering it down! You can tell they stayed true to the dish, and I appreciated that. The duck roll was good overall. I personally would've liked the sauce on the side and the wrap a bit thinner, but flavor-wise it was definitely there. The winter shrimp was solid too--nothing that blew me away, but still good. I didn't come for the ambiance, but it still gave a nice cultural vibe. Service was smooth--I called in my order and they answered right away, no issues at all. The gentleman who answered warned me the drunken noodles had a kick, and when I mentioned I love spice, he made sure to include plenty of chili oils with my order.
