Not bad Thai food! 3.5 stars. Tricky parking. Great cashew nut chicken... Great uncle Jack rice and basil chicken. Drunken noodles needed more flavor. But would go back!

Green curry with beef - level 4 spicy

We have only had take out so far, but Uncle Jacks really took us by surprise when I ordered level 4 spicy, and it was actually really spicy (Most places are afraid to get too spicy these days). Their spice ratings are accurate. We ordered crab Rangoons which were crunchy and hot, green curry beef, and drunken noodles which I couldn't stop eating. The portions are good, the food is fresh, and they offer delivery in Southington. I originally would have given 4 stars due to the clunky website ordering with bad captchas, but I haven't had any issues recently, thankfully, because I am really happy to have found some great Thai food in my neighborhood.

Has very high expectations given all the 5 star ratings. It was just ok. I ordered the same dishes I get when I try every new (to me) Thai restaurant, pad Thai and Panang curry. Both dishes tasted good but neither was authentic Thai. I also ordered fried tofu appetizer. It was perfectly prepared and had a unique sweet & sour/peanut dipping sauce. I also typically get Tom kha soup but at $6.99 it's way too expensive. To be fair, I don't know what size container that's for so you may want to inquire. They have a dessert specials board (see picture) and also have bubble tea. I'm not sure what's happening in the world of Thai food but it seems that all Thai restaurants I have been to lately have changed from being authentic to catering to local American tastes. Very disappointing.

Not sure where to park when picking up and that really just leaves me clueless on where to park if I was dining-in but during COVID-19 it really doesn't matter at this point! Hahaha. Placed an easy online order for pick up via GrubHub. It was very fast and my order was waiting for me inside, socially distanced from the other orders. I loved it. Had a shrimp shumai to start off, one of the better and more meatier ones I've had from this area. Very good and a good price as well. Went for my usual which is sharing a Beef Pad See Eew and a Beef Drunken Noodle. Everything was great, felt like their style is on the lighter side rather than the heavier and savory style. I felt good after eating this instead of ready to fall aslesp. If you eat enough flat rice noodles from Thai restaurants you start to notice the differences as in depth as this haha. So yes, this is the light and juicy type if you know what I mean. Everything was really great overall, it's really hard to have a bad experience with Thai food. They seemed very busy with take-out orders and they even offered gloves and sanitizer at the door. The lady at the front was very nice as well! I guess if you were just walking on the Southington Trail then you could walk right in easily but like I said I am not sure where someone would park for this place. In the end, I got my food and was super happy in the end. Decided to eat it while parked at the trail, not a bad idea at all. So next time you go for a walk on the Southington Trail, give it a try!

A pair of old codgers were recently witnessed weaving their way up and down W Main Street on a Thursday evening. Their first stop was Zingarella's for happy hour libations followed by dinner at this recently opened Thai restaurant. On entering, one of the co-owners expressed warm greetings and directed them to a table set for 2. They found the interior much more inviting than when it was most recently a Vietnamese restaurant. The male codger had brought 2 chilled bottles of Blue Moon Belgian White from home, but in a display of ineptitude, or was it inebriation, could not manage to pop their tops with the opener provided so the bottles were temporarily taken to the kitchen for cropping. The menu is pretty much standard Thai fare so a decision was made to share a pair of favorites, eggplant basil with shrimp and drunken noodle with chicken. Each proved to be well executed. Prices are reasonable, the food is good, and this family-owned business could use your support so what are your plans for dinner tonight?

I don't like to share poor reviews but I wanted to share my honest experience…read more The first thing I noticed was the limited parking. When you enter, you walk through a boba tea and sweets area before turning the corner into the restaurant seating, which was a bit unexpected but interesting. When I arrived, I was asked to wait briefly for a group to leave before being seated since the space is very small and there wasn't enough room to pass. Once they moved, I was seated right away, which I appreciated. There were a few cleanliness and service issues that took away from the experience. The table hadn't been fully cleaned and still had spilled flower water on it, with napkins on the floor underneath. We also didn't have napkins or silverware at the table initially, so I grabbed napkins from the other side of the restaurant to wipe the table. I did mention this to the staff, but the table wasn't addressed afterward. The food was okay and had flavor, though it was fairly simple and became repetitive after a few bites. Service overall felt a bit slow, and we waited for a while before someone helped us check out. Overall, the experience was just okay. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and service, I think this place has the potential to be much better.

Place was almost empty of guests…read more I was seated immediately, water served. No noodles with sauce to munch on as I looked over the menu. I decided on an order of chicken wings with Thai sauce, and beef with mixed vegetables in a garlic sauce. The wings were on point, crispy with Thai sauce. Sauce was mild and sweet The beef with mixed vegetables and garlic sauce was awful! Grey beef, looked poached, with mixed vegetables. Veggies but the cabbage were ok, cabbage tasted spoiled. The garlic sauce.... Let's call this jarlic and water, which was so bland, this dish seemed like a dietetic dish! No kick at all! The jasmine rice was bland until I put the remaining chile sauce on it. This was a disappointment, given the restaurant was slow at 12:15 on a Wednesday I expected food with a kick, instead diet bland food was served.

I loveeee when food tastes like it's supposed to, and this place delivered…read more The authenticity? On point. The drunken noodles had real flavor and actual spice--thank you for not watering it down! You can tell they stayed true to the dish, and I appreciated that. The duck roll was good overall. I personally would've liked the sauce on the side and the wrap a bit thinner, but flavor-wise it was definitely there. The winter shrimp was solid too--nothing that blew me away, but still good. I didn't come for the ambiance, but it still gave a nice cultural vibe. Service was smooth--I called in my order and they answered right away, no issues at all. I'll definitely be back because there are a few more things on the menu I've got my eye on

The gentleman who answered warned me the drunken noodles had a kick, and when I mentioned I love spice, he made sure to include plenty of chili oils with my order. When I arrived he walked me through each sauce and welcomed me with a complimentary Thai tea, which was absolutely delicious. The drunken noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Flavorful, loaded with veggies and beef, and still packing that satisfying heat. This feels like a family run spot that genuinely cares about their food and customers. I'll definitely be back.
