I've been here many, many times, and I can't believe I haven't written a review on them yet. All the workers there are so nice and sweet, I enjoy coming here, the place is always so clean and very well-kept. The ambiance is Thai without being in your face about it. The subtle Asian touches throughout the restaurant give it a nice classy feel when you enter. To me, this is the hidden Gem of Torrington. Being featured in a Litchfield Magazine has given this amazing place the notoriety it deserves. My date and I are always greeted very warmly and immediately without ever waiting and we get to pick which seats we'd like. The restaurant is BYOB, and there's a liquor store conveniently pretty much next door. They bring wine glasses, cups of ice, anything you could need, they'll have and all you have to do is just ask politely. The appetizers are all so very good, my favorites are the Fresh Spring Rolls, Fried Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay, and Crab Rangoons. Everything tastes so freshly homemade and just bursting with flavors. The Fresh Spring Rolls have pork and shrimp in them with the perfect ratio of rice noodles and lettuce inside giving the perfect textures of soft, chewy, the crispness of the veggies. The dipping sauce is like a sweet chili sauce and together they taste amazing. The Fried Spring Rolls are also delicious, fried to golden perfection, they come hot, and it is so hard to wait to eat them. I love these rolls because they are so crispy and crunchy, the filling is light and flavorful without being overwhelmed by cabbage like you would get from a Chinese restaurant. The Chicken Satay is just beautiful, They are grilled to perfection as you can see from the grill marks, I love that slight char, it gives it a more authentic Thai flavor for sure. They come with two dipping sauces and both are delicious and a must try of both. One is cucumber with a little bit of spice and sweetness and the other is a peanut butter-based sauce. The Crab Rangoons are so good here. I feel like they have more flavor here than anywhere else. They taste more cheesy with a burst of umami flavors. For my Entree, I almost always get the Pad See Eww Beef. I've had this dish from many places but this particular one stands out. The sauce they use gives it a deeper and richer flavor than anywhere else. And the noodles it's almost like they must make them there because they taste so fresh and have that perfect firm softness, with a slight chew that delights my tastebuds oh so very much. The Pho here is a must-try if you are a lover of Pho. The flavors in it are so much more pronounced than in other places that I have been. The broth has that sweet, salty, and savory umami flavor that marries together so well in this dish. The perfect amount of noodles to meat ratio. The serving is more than enough to make sure you leave with a very full belly if you can eat it all. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back for more!

Outstanding! Thai is my favorite cuisine and they do a great job. I need to try the drunken noodles next time. They look amazing. The Tom Yum Gai had the expected mushrooms, scallions, and coriander and the broth was perfect. They loaded it with local vegetables. Tomato, onion, sweet pepper strips, even carrots (?) not authentic but I liked the additions. Their homemade thai sausage was excellent. It came with broccoli and more local peppers and carrots. Their hot chili sauce was good. I love sticky rice and theirs did not disappoint. I will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Wowwwww the food is delicious! We stumbled upon this Thai/Lao restaurant on our way to the Berkshires from NYC. It is at par to authentic restaurants in the city. The portion is good and is well balanced with meat and vegetables! There is a grocery shop in this plaza which makes this a great stop for road trip. Will definitely come back!

Food was very good. The dishes were generous and flavorful. Spring rolls were crispy very good with duck sauce provided. Chicken stray was accompanied by a peanut sauce which complemented the grilled chicken nicely. Main dish the pork curry nice and perfect spicy level, sweet and sour chicken with sticky rice was good. Pineapple rice was excellent the cashews were roasted fresh and crispy complainants well contrasting the sweetness of the pineapple and well seasoned rice. All was good will definitely return

Super high ceilings, few tables and chairs that look like they were rescued from the side of the road. The cooling area in the center back of the room. Some cool graffiti art I guess. We got the pork belly bao. That was tasty with many toppings but barely any pork belly. Also the beef pho. A couple bites/ sips and my husband could not eat it (that NEVER happens). He tried adding more spices but the broth was bland and the noodles just tasteless. The beef was very tough it was hard to chew. He just felt there was something wrong with it so didn't even let me have any as I am pregnant and avoiding food poisoning. We are foodies so this was disappointing and a big waste of money. It's a shame. Probably won't risk going back and trying something else. :(

Today was my birthday, so my dinner spot of choice meant a return here to experience a meal at the newish Charming Thai Restaurant. And we left a few hours later agreeing that this place is fantastic. Soon after we were seated, we met Jessica, who was our principal server. She was an absolute delight with a fantastic personality. She started off with some complimentary noodles and sweet duck sauce. The menu is extensive, with most of the traditional Thai favorites, so think Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Fried Rices, Lo Meins, and Pad See-Ew. Other groupings include Chef Specials, Classic Entrees, Curries, and a full slate of appetizers, salads, soups, Pho, and Ramens. When you go through their menu, the various combinations of entrée and protein choices are in the 200 range. So pretty much anyone can eat their favorite Asian food here. We started off with a cup of Wonton Soup (with 6 big wontons) and a cup of Tom Kha Soup with two big shrimp at $5.99 each. The Tom Kha had a mild coconut taste, but I don't mean that in a negative way. I order this a lot, and some places really load up on the coconut flavor so much that the soup resembles a strong thick ice cream topping. Their soup was thinner than some but had enough flavor that it was fantastic. Oh, and those two plump shrimps in my bowl were perfect. We split an $8 order of six pork pot stickers, and they were cooked beautifully without a hint of grease and stuffed with a nice ground pork filling. For our main meal we split a $15.99 order of Chicken Pad Thai. We ordered it mild, but since I like spice, I asked for some extra zip on the side and Jessica brought out a cute little twin dish of Sriracha sauce and Sichuan pepper powder to ramp up the firepower. We loved the Pad Thai, it had plenty of chicken, the noodles were well cooked, and most of all it was sauced perfectly. Not too dry, not too wet, but just perfect. As we were paying our bill, the fact that it was my birthday came up, and Jessica made us promise not to leave yet because she wanted to give me something. That turned out to be a complimentary dish of sweet coconut rice with sliced mango. The portions were so generous that some of the Tom Kha and Pad Thai are now in our refrigerator for tomorrow. Thank you, Jessica, and JJ who tag-teamed us tonight, and here's a special shout-out to Lucy who made the magic happen in the kitchen. The food, the service, the value, and the atmosphere were all exceptional. If you like Thai food as much as we do, head on out to Route 4 and treat yourself to a charming dinner experience at Charming Thai.

Menu options are my best bet. 2) this is petty.. and evidence of my 48 years of age... but... they clearly xerox their own copies of the menus and laminate them. It may be just a quick bus…read moreride from where I live, but at the same time I just don't really find a reason to go there, or really anywhere in Litchfield County for that matter. Today however, that changed. Before I left to go to the Orthodontist in Watertown I got referred to by my dentist, I did a quick browse on Yelp to go ahead and see what would be a good take-out spot in the area. As soon as I did, the most obvious place I could that was open was this little spot. There was a diner in the same plaza as the orthodontist I visited, but they were gonna be closed before I could get out. So ThaiBowL it was (and yes, they capitalize that final L for some reason). Because I did take-out, I didn't go inside. Instead, I had to order through a side window. I was able to take a menu home with me which was nice. Maybe if I decide to go through with the treatment of realigning my jaw I could try some of their pho IF what I got today is any good. Side note, you DO need to ask for utensils, but the lady who served asked for me, so I gladly accepted them so I could eat while I waited for my bus to go back home. So what did I get today that probably would be illegal with braces on you might ask? How about some Crab Rangoon and Volcano Shrimp? And honestly, this is the best Crab Rangoon I've had yet. It's creamy and actually bursts with filling with each one they prepare. It is on the sweet side, so if that ain't your thing then you might decide to skip on these. It comes with plum sauce, something I had thought to be a first whenever I've had crab rangoon. Of course, the last place I went to called them "Crabmeat Cheese Fried Wonton's" and basically added a salt lick into some red sauce, so I'd say this time around was a major improvement. As for the Volcano Shrimp, they're crispy when you get them, but you have to eat them immediately. If not, you're allowing the breading to get soggy quite quickly. But I otherwise liked everything about the dish. The sweet sauce was more sweet than spicy, vegetables were well-cooked, and the shrimp was flavorful. The white rice that came with it was good too, but it doesn't stand out compared to other white rices because, at the end of the day, it's white rice. I'll place this at a 4 for now, but if I go through with my treatment and start coming here more often, my review and maybe my rating will change.

One got the sense that the other diners that evening felt much the same way. It was a weeknight, and with a lower customer load than might be the case on a Friday or weekend, she had ample time to spend with each party, regaling us all with fun conversation. It goes without saying that the company in one's own party makes a whale of a difference, and in that regards I could not have asked for better. This is to take nothing away from the food, which was absolutely delicious, flavorful and mercifully not too spicy - our aging gastrointestinal systems are sadly just not up for the violent torment from a chilli assault like when we were younger, and felt invincible. The mango rice dessert - enough for two to split - was sublime. And the town of Naugy itself - for both of us an unknown quantity til that evening despite having whizzed past it a ton on Route 8, hammering down the famous Naugahyde River Valley - is intriguing. Naugatuck offers gorgeous and fascinating architecture from the last two centuries at least, evidence of thriving mill-driven industry in years past, very easy access from the highway, and lots of close on-street parking, at least on a Thursday evening.
