I had to cancel my appointment today with Linda the esthetician because I have the flu. Someone called me and left a message that they were going to charge me a "no show fee". No mention of how much. I'll pay the fee but I don't have much confidence in a facility that would have you go in and contaminate everyone during cold and flu season rather than stay home and keep my germs to myself. I sure wish the person who made me sick had stayed home. But hey! That's probably why sick people don't stay home. They get penalized if they do! read more

This was simply just an unpleasant, and unnecessarily expensive, ordeal. Not only did they have me with the incorrect doctor/nurse my first visit, but by my follow-up visit, the doctor/nurse I saw on that occasion told me the diagnosis given by the first was completely inaccurate! I was supposed to have a culture taken and analyzed--to be reviewed between patient and practitioner upon my second visit--and they didn't even have the results back, when they were the ones who set the date for the follow-up. So the first visit was completely pointless, but of course I had to pay for both that and the culture, that I never received the results from, by the way, and even though the second doctor/nurse expressed that it was completely pointless. When I tried to work out the kinks in this logic of paying for something not received, the office was quite rude and shuffled me around between four different individuals, all with the intent of trying to reach the same person, who ended up not being there in the first place (although I was repeatedly told he was in the office) and who never returned the message I was forced to leave. Overall, this was not only an inefficient practice by means of medical knowledge, but once someone had an issue, they had no desire to aid in remedying the situation. Me and my family have been going to The Dermatology Center for about 14 years! We've seen the doctors for everything from skin tag removal to eczema. Recently, I started to see Dr. A for botox and Linda in the medi-spa for regular facials. Dr. A is amazing! She's knowledgeable, honest, and provides excellent feedback based on your concerns and needs. She made me look 10 years younger! Linda is also superb at skin care. She's super sweet, professional and informative. The office runs smoothly and even when there have been small administrative hiccups, things are fixed quickly and with a smile. read more

I went to The Dermatology Center in Germantown MD for my annual checkup. I was seen to very quickly by the staff. They were efficient and courteous and got me signed in with no issues. Dr. Li attended to me with very little wait time. He clearly explained what he was going to do. He carried out a thorough exam of my skin from head to toe and took care of any suspicious, possibly precancerous lesions painlessly. Very strict and effective COVID-19 mitigation measures were followed throughout my visit. Making another follow up appointment and checking out was seamless, efficient, and fast. Overall, my experience was very positive and I have great confidence in the staff at The Dermatology Center. read more

I am very unhappy. I made a payment on Nov 20 (right after I received the first bill). I received a notice today second notice that it has gone to collection. What type of company sends second notices to collection agency? I pay ALL my bills promptly and have otherwise perfect credit. I am going to go in tomorrow and give them a piece of my mind. I'm furious! This is absolutely horrible and am concerned whether they also improperly reported this to credit bureaus too. They better fix this! read more

I was very happy with my visit to Dr. Yu. He was very through with his exam and took care of several issues during my first visit with him. He has great bedside manners too, which is always a plus. I have been going to Dermatologist for years being told to put this or that on my skin. Then Dr. Lee suggested a simple solution of putting lotion on my skin when I get out of the shower. Low and behold problem solved. Shocking no one else ever said this recommendation to me. I feel way better not abusing my body with even more prescription chemicals then needed. read more

I have PCOS !!I so I went in for some obvious issues on my face. I have a history of skin issues but Dr. Lee was ready to wrap up my visit. I felt rushed and he did not take the time to listen to my concerns. so i ended up with a prescription (antibiotic) and topical cream. I could not take more that 10 pills of my antibiotic because i have GERD. Dr. Lee told me to take the med. on a full stomach, Vs. the prescription notice (guide) specify to take the med. on an empty stomach. I won't be back there for sure!!! read more

After my last experience, I will not be returning to this office. It was a surprise to me that after an appointment, a co-pay was not required. "Are you sure? I just leave without paying a co-pay?" The nice woman who performed the procedure checked the screen again and confirmed "there's no co-pay for this visit." This is surprising - I always pay a co-pay, but it's great news because this type of appointment is to occur every 2 weeks, so I leave happy. My next visit is followed by the same thing: "There is no co-pay," says the woman in Billing. So I leave again. Now, I'm starting to receive the bills for each visit. I checked with my insurance, and they have no idea why this office would tell me there's no co-pay to pay. So I call the office to inquire what happened. The office could not clarify where they got their misinformation from, but they also denied ever telling me that there would be no co-pay(s). Wonderful. The woman in Billing was neither professional nor polite about the situation. It would have been nice for her to acknowledge her/the office's error, apologize for the inconvience, and should have waived the co-pay, but instead there was no ownership on her part. I asked her to have the physician who also told me there would be no co-pay to call me back, but of course, that phone call never came. I will not be returning not just because the office made an error(s) in billing, but because the lack of professionalism they had to handle their error with their patient. I am looking for an office who handles these matters professionally. Was a $15 co-pay worth losing a customer? read more

I've had some interesting interactions with dermatologists, especially for medical issues. Dr. Pillemer is great! He answers all questions and is remarkably patient. The office is convenient to home, and I recommend the practice to others in the area. read more

When I first started with the dermatology center I had nothing but positive things to say, but in the last eight months it has been nothing but a negative experience. After being prescribed a medication to treat my psoriasis, I was guilty of not getting my bloodwork completed quickly at the six month mark of being on the medication. Largely in part due to the pandemic and wanting to avoid a blood lab (especially having a one year old at home). Eventually I did get my blood taken, and everything came out normal. Unfortunately, the dermatology center refuses to refill my prescription until I come in for a face to face with the doctor. Again, during a pandemic not interested. I tried explaining this to them, but they continue to not answer the phone when I call, and callback during my workday when I am unavailable. From my experience, patient care is not a priority since they refuse to refill a prescribed medication even though my bloodwork is normal. This could be resolved with a tele-med visit but there is no compromise. I am not interested in a doctors office that composes itself in this manner. Patient care should come first, and why I'm going to find a different doctors office that feels the same way. read more

I go to this practice and have been going for about 13 years . I will say that some of the doctors are good but some are not . When I say this I am speaking of their bedside manner and the time that they spend with you to answer your questions . Dr. Joseph Lee is fantastic but the nurse practitioner makes you feel like she does not have the time to spend with you and that she is rushed . This is something that is critical to good business and having a patient return . The Spa is great ! The front desk manager could be better and more friendly . It's all about customer service or in this case patient service and building that relationship. 5 stars for Dr. Lee but only 2 stars for the rest of it . read more

The only reason they get four instead of five stars is because it can be hard to get an appointment- sometimes you have to wait weeks- even a month- depending on what you're coming in for. Other than that- fabulous! I never have to wait in the waiting room for longer than a few minutes... they always take me on time, which is most appreciated. In fact, one time I had to squeeze in an appointment on my lunch break and didn't want to be gone for much longer than an hour. When I mentioned this to the ladies at the front, they made every effort to get me in immediately and the doctor and nurse then showed up right away and got started. They got me in and out, and I was back at work right on time! In today's medical community where the general attitude is pretty much "Screw you, our time is more important than yours," their efforts to accommodate the patient really stand out. Two individuals at this practice are particularly outstanding: Dr. Lee, and PA Jennifer Whitman. I will continue to go here. It doesn't get much better than this as far as medical offices go. read more

Incredibly snooty staff. They act as if they are doing YOU a favor for wanting to drop your money there! Appointments are impossible to get, unless you want to wait for weeks at a time (God forbid you have something acute). Prices for various procedures are very expensive compared to other dermatologists. This place is awful i wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. They overbook leaving no time for a patient to discuss ones concerns with the derm doctors. Reception clerks need to obtain classes on respect and professionalism. If you have more than 2 issues you are only permitted to discuss one of your concerns and they request that you make another appointment. I am used to doctors that care and take their time to talk to you not rush you and ask you to make another appointment. They are obviously interested in only making money and not taking care of the patients problem. Don't go there it's a ripoff. read more

I want to commend the staff at the Dermatology Center in Germantown, Md. I have been suffering from a skin condition for several years. They gave me samples to try. It is helping so I called to get a prescription filled. My insurance would not approve it so Carolyn called a pharmacy that will fill it for $50.00 it is a very expensive medication. I was out of the samples and I do not have a car so Erin volunteered to drive them over to me.( Carolyn also included other samples for my scalp ). I am 66 and low income and do not have a car. This meant so much to me that they cared enough to help me. In this day and age this exceptional service is very rare indeed!!!!! read more

it is impossible to get an appointment. my son had a burning rash on his arms. the operator didn't even try to search for any time, possibly suggest squeezing him in. it was flat out, NO! she told me try another office. i thought all medical offices have "emengency apptointment" times set aside. when i made my appointment in person, they just got a cancellation the next day with dr. lee, i was not offered that time, but the next available appointment is in 5 weeks. read more
