We really enjoyed our stay at the Sonesta ES Suites Andover Boston for our wedding weekend! We selected this hotel through a wedding concierge service, and it was a fantastic choice. The wedding staff was extremely pleasant, professional, and attentive with all of our event requests. Our suite was exceptionally spacious and comfortable, which gave us plenty of room to get ready for the big day. On top of that, the breakfast options were easily the best I've ever had at a hotel! My only minor feedback is that it would be helpful to have hooks on the doors or walls to hang dresses and formal wear. We stayed here for one night and I'm not sure how I feel about the hotel. The price was great for a suite! Lots of room to move around in. Definitely better than your typical hotel room. Everything seemed clean for the most part with your normal wear and tear you see at most hotels. The one thing that bothered me was there was still hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived, the vent in the bathroom was very dusty like it is never cleaned and the silverware in the drawer in the kitchen was still dirty. Bed was nice and comfortable and ac worked great. Service was mediocre. Nothing stood out to me. Desk personnel weren't overly friendly as they are at some hotels. I would say overall we had a pretty good stay, especially for the price. read more

We loved the room with the full size refrigerator, microwave and 2 burners. They also have some pots, plates, utensils, etc to use. The room was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice yet 2 days in a row (Saturday & Sunday) they had chorizo. I don't care for spicy and neither did my 2 young grandchildren. The people working that area were always refilling everything and keeping it all clean. It was just a blah breakfast. The laundry room do off site, 4 dryers and only 2 worked and 1 of those not very well. We had our clothes in the dryer for 45 minutes on high and they felt like they were almost as wet as when they came out of the washer. The outside area was a wonderful distraction for the kids. The pool, tic-tac-toe with beanbags , cornhole, they did have shuffleboard but we weren't sure what we were supposed to use with that. We stayed for 6 nights so we didn't qualify for a cleaning but it would be a HUGE help to have a dustpan and brush in the room. The kitchen area gets lots of crumbs. We would stay again as it was close to where we needed to be and it was clean and was good for our needs. read more

This was my second time at this hotel. Overall it's a winning option for me. The bed was a little firm for my taste, but everything was immaculately clean. There was an issue with the shower which the staff fixed for the second day. Breakfast has many options, and my little niece was a huge fan of the pancake machine. I work mid shift and stayed here between airbnbs and they are constantly doing construction while I would be sleeping. Nighttime was very quiet. Breakfast was decent but pancake machine was constantly broken. The pool wasn't open due to construction. The gym was a decent gym for sure. The rooms were very clean and great amenities. The grounds were nicely landscaped but the construction crew has trashed it so badly with tons and tons of beer bottles broken everywhere, their caulking supplies all over, pieces of trash and hardware everywhere. I booked this place because it had a suite big enough for my family of 5. We were visiting Canobie lake park, just up the road, for a couple days of fun. The pictures of this hotel looked nice, clean and comfortable. When we arrived, the room smelled as if someone was smoking in there. The whole place was grimy. There was a huge smear of what appeared to be jizz or yogurt on the couch. The bathroom vent had about a months worth of dust caked on it. The towel bar was ripped half off the wall. Floors were sticky. We could easily identify our room without looking at the number plaque by the distinctive dirt stain formations on the carpet. It was a downright disappointment. The only saving grace was that the staff were pretty friendly. This was Hotel 6 quality for a Hilton price. Not going back. read more

I was attending an event in a nearby town, so my stay at Sonesta ES was short. On first impression, I thought the property was quite impressive. It was clean and bright. There are lots of amenities, including a pool, a barbecue grill, a gym, and business center. There's plenty of parking around the entire property. During my stay, the printer at the business center wasn't functioning. Check-in and check-out where slow since there was only one person at reception. I thought they could use a second person. The studio room that I was given was clean when I arrived. I liked that there was a mini couch and a table in the kitchen to lounge around and do some work. I liked that there was a kitchen with a refrigerator. It came in handy when I had dinner leftovers. The bed was comfortable and I didn't have any problems falling asleep. The shower pressure was excellent. However, there was no conditioner available in the wall-mounted dispenser. Complimentary breakfast was okay. Every day, there were eggs and two rotating food options. On one day, it was biscuits and sausage gravy. On the other day, it was sausage and potatoes. There's always fruit, bread and bagels, and orange and grapefruit juice available. Overall, I thought Sonesta was a great place to stay. read more

This hotel I got for a great price on one of those bidding sites. I was hesitant based on reviews but when we arrived I was not disappointed. Staff has been super kind and helpful. The property is well maintained and the complimentary breakfast is robust and varied. We enjoyed the pool. A very pet friendly hotel (we didn't have any with us) but we couldn't hear the dog next to us bark when we were in our room. But we definitely heard the dog(s) barking in the hall, we didn't mind at all. I will be visiting again. read more

I was lucky enough to be able to stay here through work for training. I was actually quite impressed! My room was beautifully appointed with a living room (couch had a pull out bed), desk with comfortable chair, mini table with stool, two TVs, full eat-in kitchen with dishwasher (sans oven), fairly large bathroom and a bedroom with a king sized bed, dresser and night stands. I LOVED the fact that it had a full sized fridge! I did a lot of cooking during my stay and we had leftovers that definitely would not have fit in a mini. The drawers and cabinets were stocked with silverware, plates, cups, wine glasses, measuring cup, colander, etc. The essentials, basically. Two cons here though: the two burners didn't get hot at ALL. Cooking took forever. And there was no oven! Not a huge deal, I suppose. There was a microwave though. So why didn't I give it 5 stars? Two reasons. Internet and location. People generally stay here because they need to get work done and for extended stays. HOWEVER- the internet is extremely slow. How can you get any work done?? And the other is location. It's kind of far from many things...like Boston and Cambridge. And during rush hour? It took 15 mins to drive 3 miles just to get groceries. Other positives though: gym, mini store, pets allowed, seasonal pool, amazing front desk attendants, fantastic and thorough housekeeping, bar and breakfast buffet! I really enjoyed my stay here. I would give it 4.5 if it were an option, for sure. read more

Beautiful, Modern, Chic, Spotless, etc.. The list goes on! I absolutely loved my stay here. Andover is a gorgeous neighborhood and this hotel is a true gem. The breakfast was actually very good. We LOVED our stay here!! This is a hotel for the do it yourselfer - and I mean that in a good way! It's like home when you're there - refrigerator, dishwasher. The rooms are clean and bright! Comfortable bed with fluffy down comfortable and great towels. Kitchenette layout - just such a comfy mini apartment layout. The free hot breakfast buffet was GREAT! Healthy food options which I loved. Decent coffee and good assortment of pastries and juices. Well maintained. Feels newly renovated with lots of areas to hang out. Great courtyard with grill, basketball court and small pool. We enjoyed the morning poolside before we checked out. Free wifi. Pet friendly. A+ on my book. read more

Sonesta Hotel, was for me, one of the most pleasant places I've ever stayed at. This was a last minute trip, courtesy of my cousin, who invited us! It's located in Andover, Massachusetts. I must say, the hot breakfast food, service, and room decor exceeded beyond my expectations. Me and my family had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. The hotel provided a grill and pool for our enjoyment. The rooms come with a small, but fully equipped kitchen (except for an oven). We brought our food for the barbecue. I definitely recommend this hotel. Next time, we should consider visiting a Sonesta Hotel by the Jersey shore. read more

Convenient to work. Hotel is modestly decorated, almost spartan. No frills. Front desk staff is always friendly and will greet you by name. Join their rewards program and you'll get credits for the shoppe (waters, sodas, snacks). They have social hours Tuesday - Thursday with snacks in the lounge (alcoholic bevvies not included). Large average breakfast selection and it's not the same every day too which is nice. Haven't been able to use the pool yet, since it's outside and I haven't stayed here in the summer yet. Only downside? 1st floor rooms near the side exits. Smell of smokers outside will waft into your room. Sonesta meets my needs, and will be my choice when visiting Andover for work. read more

Our room was most comfortable, spacious & especially well-appointed for the great price we got on Hotwire. Quiet, comfortable, & a really friendly staff. Breakfast was plentiful with both hot & cold servings. I liked to oatmeal bar with lots of topping choices. The only downside is how far this hotel is from restaurants & shops. But if you don't mind traveling a little, or if you want to stay in, this place is awesome. Would be good for families with the breakfast, pool, basketball & tennis courts, & lots of room about the grounds. Above average, Clean and Friendly: Facility in general is above average for the price. Everything you need is on this property: meeting/meal area, small store, and some rooms have kitchenettes with the basics that you would need to do some basic prep. Total bonus: laundromat on site with modern machines. They sell Tide Pods at the front desk. Rooms are very clean. Bit of an austiere design aesthetic, but it totally works. Bright colors and clean lines. Window coverings were actually well thought out with privacy shades that roll up and blackout curtains that close fully and compliment the room. Comfy beds and pillows. Fluffy towels and plenty of them for the room. Charging ports are provided thought out the facility. If you have a USB device, you can charge that thing in just about any space at the property. Outside guest area has a pool, a basketball court, bbq and a fire pit with cozy chairs. Landscaping looks great. This is a great alternative to being in Boston if you have to head out of the city anyway - and it'll cost you about $300 less per night. Great value for a property wit a solid rating. read more

we have stayed a this Sonesta more then 30 days over the past few years, this pst stay June 27th -July 9th 2024 was not something I can recommend to friends and family. we were told since Covid (really still this excuse) the only do a cleaning once every 7 days cleaning or every 3 days a lite cleaning on the 5 th day we rains out of toilet paper and soap ,towels still had not been changed out. we went to the front desk and they gave us a bag with those replacement items. trash we were told to place outside the room. just so we are clear we were out most days and did not have a do not disturb magnet at all. the 9th we noticed black ants in our bed and then all around the room. we complained and left for 11 hours. we came back and nothing was done. 10th we complained again and they did clean. ants continued , we had no food in the room ....nothing .....some drinks in the refrigerator. this was not a cheap hotel. most of the time no one at the front desk to even talk to. read more

We lost heat and hot water to our house and we were able to find a last minute room for myself, my boyfriend, and our cats. We have never traveled with our cats before, but Sonesta staff made the experience wonderful. Cara at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating - when we told her that our bathroom had not been cleaned from the previous guest when we checked in, she immediately adjusted our room rate and scheduled a complimentary full cleaning for the next day. The manager Katerina was also extremely helpful - when she heard why we were staying at her hotel, as well as not knowing how long home repairs would take, she gave us a reasonable rate for our stay and showed great sympathy towards our situation, especially during the week of Christmas. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone for any reason, especially when traveling with pets. Our room (1 bedroom suite) was spacious and felt like a home away from home - it had a separate bedroom with attached bathroom, a living area, and a full kitchen. We have stayed in other Sonesta hotels and resorts in the past and this one did not disappoint. read more

I wanted to like it, but I didn't. Perhaps this is because this is more of an extended-stay hotel, and I just stayed a few nights. I would think people who stay a couple of weeks or more would really like it. They have "social" hours three evenings a week where you can meet other people staying there and there is complimentary food for dinner. The continental breakfast is also fairly good (does have hot items such as eggs, a meat, and waffles). The front desk staff seemed very nice. Now, for the cons... The hotel is very loud. People tend to congregate in front of the hotel to socialize. One day there were empty beer bottles in the parking spots. There is a balcony above the dining area that opens to the second floor. It is VERY loud during breakfast and I am glad I was not in one of the rooms near the balcony. People are rude during breakfast. There seemed to be always a line and people getting in each other's way. There is not enough seating in the dining area. I ended up bringing my plate back up to my room. The maid service was not great. All I could see that they did was check the garbage and throw the bed back together haphazardly. The pool is outdoors. The fitness center is very old. Décor in the room could use updating. The TV was old school (one of those big ones from the 90s) and there was DVD/VCR (yes, VCR) combo. There is a La Quinta across the street that is quieter and cheaper, has an updated fitness center and flat screen TVs in the rooms. I can see how this hotel could appeal to people who are coming to town for a few weeks on business and want to socialize. I prefer a quieter, calmer environment, so it was just not for me. read more

Excellent choice. Note the upgrade and remodel in 2014. I have stayed in this hotel twice now, both times this year. During my first visit in August they were undergoing renovations, but they put me in a renovated room. I stayed for two weeks. During my current visit (I am writing this review from the hotel) the renovations have been completed. I travel incessantly for work, and this is quite easily the best hotel experience I have had for the cost. The Good: - Clean, modern rooms with flat panel tv's - Room has a small eat-in kitchen with fridge, dish washer, microwave and two-burner stove - Courteous front desk - One of the better hotel breakfasts with hot entrees that change a bit daily (nice for extended stays) - Small but new and functional gym - Fast and reliable wi-fi - I've never attended, but the evening socials offer free evening snacks - Maid service is unusually good - Very comfortable bed with black out curtains = great sleep The Bad: - The only negative would be that, like a previous reviewer, I too have seen a few beer bottles in the parking lot. They are cleaned promptly, and I don't know how much you can control your clientele. Most of the people here, are business travelers I'll continue to stay here when I am in town. read more

Best hotel by far in this area. Whenever I stay I always feel comfortable and at ease. The room is impeccably clean and I appreciate that there is a small couch and table to sit at. The only negative thing to the hotel is how thin the walls are. In the case of loud neighbors the front desk were/ are always helpful in making sure that you're comfortable and alleviate any problems that arise. First stay here. Overall first impression was wow! Nice remodeling! Room amenities were great! Big room! Why I knocked my rating down a bit was the location of my room. I should have requested to move, but it was one night and I thought by midnight or later, the traffic in and out the side door would cease. I was wrong. My room was located next to one of the back entrances and the door slammed on the jamb and would bounce two times on the metal jamb. Needless to say, I was up every hour if not every 30 minutes with someone coming or going. So, if you are staying here, request a room on second floor or higher or away from an entrance door. read more

What a lovely place to stay! I had an issue with check in regarding the number of beds in our room. It seems that the website my husband booked thru is not very user friendly and he was unable to select 2 beds vs 1. This just was not going to work for the combination of people in my party.The manager heard me talking to the front desk clerk and came over and listened into our conversation. She explained that it wasn't my husbands fault, it is the website that makes booking vague. She allowed the clerk to adjust our room to meet out parties needs with out the up-charge. Later, I was down in the pantry store and she followed up with me to see how our accommodations were. Excellent service!!! Also.. I was having trouble logging into the internet for the faster service that is offered and the front desk clerk very patiently tried to walk me thru the process and then offered to come to my room to assist me. Later that evening when we arrived after having gone out for a couple of hours...she asked me if I got the computer situation figured out. Again ... excellent service. The hotel is bright, clean, inviting and comfortable. I will return when in the area again and will seek out there other locations when traveling. If you are in the area...please give Sonesta a try! Beware. The hotel is in the midst of a renovation. There is no lobby. Check in and the breakfast are together in the same small office. There are two chairs to sit in if one must sit. Paper bags are provided to carry the food. Without a lobby, we were sent on a roundabout search for our room (as in told where the elevator was). No help. IF there had been a lobby, we would have been able to walk across to the elevators near our room. Finding the room was therefore a long process. We needed to drive around the hotel to get closer to the room. We eventually figured out that we could walk outside. There were no luggage carts available. The a/c was either blasting cold or turned off. 20 minutes on hold to get more towels (at 5:00 p.m. on. Friday night). There were other problems (no guide for the tv stations, etc). We stayed here before five plus years ago. This experience was a disappointment. And, we were paying top dollar for this three night experience. read more

We have been staying here since it is close to my husband's job. We have not been happy with our experience at all. The front office staff is very rude and unhelpful. In addition management does not seem much better. If you are looking for a clean room, don't stay here! The meals provided on Tuesday through Thursday evening are generally salads or cheese and cracker. The hallways are not air conditioned in the middle of the summer. There are plenty our Extended Stay facilities in the area. Please consider one of them first. read more

The drinks (beer and Coffee) at the front desk are affordable and convenient. Paul Wilkins (GM) is a star in accommodating fair and reasonable requests. Wow! Far exceeded my expectations...the photos provided are exactly what you get. My room is beautiful, immaculate, newly renovated, and very modern. I am in a studio but there is a huge bed, couch, desk, dining table and a full kitchen. I needed to call their IT support 800 # a couple of times and they were extremely courteous, patient, and helpful. I had never heard of this hotel chain before bit now I will specifically look for it. Oh! Ridiculously affordable. I would have expected to pay at least twice what I did for the quality. This was my first experience with Sonesta and I really enjoyed my stay. The small room with an efficiency kitchen was exactly what I needed. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable. It was nice to have a little loveseat at the end of the bed. The fitness center had more than just a treadmill and stationary bike. They even had a full set of free weights. The breakfast was more than the usual selection of breads, with sausage or bacon and eggs along with real oatmeal with an assortment of things to add to it. There was also a mid week social hour with light snacks which I thought was a nice touch for guests who had a longer stay for business. The only odd thing was there wasn't a clock in my room and my phone was not connected, which I discovered when I wanted to call the front desk and tell them I was checking out and to have them bill my card. A coworker said he had a clock in his room so I guess the one for my room either broke or was taken and not replaced. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. read more

I said wow, thanks, that was very kind.......only to then find that the room was mammoth and had two bedrooms, two bathroms, three flat screen tv's, a kitchen and living room. Absolutely anything you could need was provided and the place was modern and clean. The bed was great and I slept l I like the dead. Breakfast the next morning was surprisingly good and well rounded.
