This was a nice out of the way place to stay in Flagstaff. It was very roomy and I had no problems spreading out all my stuff. The location is flat so there was no issue parking my motorcycle. The bed was comfortable. There was a kitchen that I did not use and a nice bathroom that I did use. Being a bit taller than most, I was not a fan of the shower height. Overall this was nice place to spend the night and it is far enough away from I-40 and the trains you do not have to worry about the noise or traffic. There are plenty of places to eat near by and the morning breakfast was not all full of carbs, there was a nice selection of food to eat before heading out for the day. The one ding I would give this place is that they waited so long to turn on their outside lights that I had to use my flashlight to find my room in the dark and find the spot on the door to place my card to open the door. So while I was unloading my motorcycle I had to go up and down the stairs in the dark (well almost in the dark since I had my flashlight). read more

We stayed at this property a few years ago and it was great for families. Not so much this time. The property needs some serious attention and updating. We booked a 2 bedroom. The two cushion love seat couch was hard as a rock and the pull-out sofa was not even bearable for a child to sleep on due to the springs. Even though we turned off the thermostat due to one of the bedrooms being so warm, the unit kept heating making one bedroom very warm and the rest of the unit very cool. The ceiling fan looked as if it hadn't been dusted in a few years and one of the bathroom vanity doors was barely hanging on. The carpet was covered in stains. The entire unit felt very dirty! read more

AMAZING STAY! Clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Full kitchen, clean laundry facilities ($2/wash or dry), dog run, great water pressure and shower curtains that dont blow in on you, about 100 channels. They provide breakfast and from Tues-Thurs, they offer an evening social with food themed (ex. taco Tuesday). Close to mall, store, food. Breakfast was a major plus and not your typical bread, cereal, hard boiled egg type of fare. They had chorizo, sausage, egg, potatoes, yogurt, fruits so it was great not having to buy breakfast driving cross country! Lobby and eating area were nice, propane grills outside. While it's true the room are a bit dated but really, for the price, no one should complain. The room was spacious and ours had a working fireplace which included logs which were given to us when we check in. I guess it's all about expectations. As we were not sure what to expect, we were happily surprised by the warm cookies at check in, the complimentary tea and coffee all day long and since we were there mid week, the complimentary happy hour of free flowing wine, beer, and appetizer. Plus the plentiful free board games that we could check out played with our son during the afternoons. The room was spacious with a full kitchen and that's essential for us as a family. It would have been nice to have a flat screen instead of an older tv but you get the same channels. During our road trip from CA to NM, we stayed for one night here in Flagstaff. It was a winter wonderland when we vacationed here, and we loved the snow that really topped off the experience for us. When we arrived on a late weekday night, we found that the check-in area was in a mobile room (that's why we thought they were in the midst of construction/expansion). We were greeted without any fuss and given directions to our rooms which were a short drive into the suites. Parking on that late night was difficult, but we decided to park by the check-in area and walked to our rooms because all the spots were taken at the complex where we were staying! Upon walking in we were absolutely shocked and filled with glee seeing how clean, updated (appliances and furniture), and spacious the room was! After entering the room, there is an open floor plan with a mini kitchen space and high table for an easy breakfast, and the bed is fluidly connected to the TV space and a large couch! The bathroom is also very spacious and beautiful, but the restroom/shower room is a bit too small especially with the door swinging in (inconvenient) instead of out. That was a minor setback, but we loved our view of the snowy bushland from our second-level suite! In the morning after, we took our "brown bagged complimentary breakfasts" with us on the road, as they didn't have a space for breakfast for patrons. Instead, we were told to go to a specific hotel room, which was set up for families to pick up a brown bag, and fill it up with whatever you may want: muffins, cereal, coffee, tea, cold sandwiches, yogurt, fruit--you name it!! The ladies serving the kitchen area were all very helpful and respectful, shoutout to you girls! The only iffy thing about this place is the location--and that we stayed here during their construction, or what looked like an expansion period. It's in the middle of nowhere, but it is convenient nearby gas stations and right off of the main Flagstaff freeway for travelers/tourists/locals driving through the area. read more

This is a fantastic place to stay! So this place had to have been apartments before, and I am totally OK with this. My husband and I booked a Studio Suite w/Fireplace. The fireplaces can only burn the composite logs per the label, but the front desk will give you one with your stay and you can buy more if you wish. The beds are super comfy and the bathroom is nice. The tub is a standard size tub, I wish it were bigger but everything else makes up for it. Kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, and cooking supplies. Has Dishwasher, Stove, Oven, Microwave, Coffee Pot, and full size fridge. Bring your own food, get some logs and curl up to watch the snow. Will absolutely stay here again. read more

We booked last minute and didn't know the area at all. I went by all the internet ratings which are really good. Well I didn't exactly read them all and sent by star system and the amount of reviews. Maybe if I took the time to read I was have known that the second level does not have and elevator. Stairs only. Which is fine but my suitcase is packed for our road trip. That is my only complaint. The room was super clean and large. Very comfortable. Staff was great. No ice on premise but the refrigerator in room makes ice. Problem solved. I would totally stay here again. read more

We stayed three nights and visited Grand Canyon twice and Sedona. It's a good location and a nice area. It's about 7000 elevation. The hotel has been renovated, but had popcorn sealing. The room was large and it was nice having a full kitchen. The bed was pretty comfortable, not not the pillow. It's pretty clean overall, but can use a good scrubbing. The maid service was not great. We stopped by the room after 3:30 pm & the room was still not made. The room was not cleaned very well as there were water spots on the mirror & didn't replace the towels day before our departure so did not have clean wash clothes & hand towels. The breakfast was decent. There's a Safeway nearby to purchase groceries. We bought bread & lunch meat and ate sitting on a rock overlooking Grand Canyon. Try Salsa Brava near the hotel. Great, great hotel! Especially for an extended stay. I stayed here for 11 nights while on my first ever "business" type trip. Well, thesis research, but that's business to me. I chose this hotel after reading all the good reviews and was happy to see that I could get an extended stay rate of $99/night, discounted from somewhere around 150. For the price, you get even more than expected: an apartment-like suite with a full kitchen (full fridge, oven, dishwasher), full bathroom, big comfy bed, sofa, TV and best of all free breakfast every morning. The discount and free food saved both me and the school a lot of money. The rooms remind me of a garden-style efficiency apartment. They could have been apartments at some point. Actually, I could see myself living in one if I needed to. They're very clean and spacious and every request I had was quickly fulfilled. Oh yeah... they're dog-friendly! I know my cow dog would be in HEAVEN staying here with the multiple dog parks and huge field in the back. I had the pleasure of meeting a bunch of the employees, the manager, and some of the people working on the construction. They were all nice and even helped me with my research. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. They're doing some major renovations so I expect the price may go up by the time I return, but I'd pay it. (I'll be making money by the time I come back... that's why I'm suffering through grad school... right?? Anyone??) And don't worry about the location. Flagstaff is a small town and you can get downtown in minutes. It's a warm and personal hotel that feels like home. And you can bring your dog! I can't wait to come back! read more

OMG! Great hotel! Great staff! Great place for dogs! I was shocked at a couple of the low star rating especially with the hotel manager because My husband and I have never experienced a more helpful and professional operations manager that is always on staff. (he kind of reminds me of a kind father figure gone professional..or maybe a Star Wars Jedi.) We are here on extended stay while renovating a house and everyday I am more impressed. The reason we first decided to come here is because the dog charge to sanitize the rooms was less than anywhere else in town. Now that we have been here over a week I want to give one reason for every star I gave them why I am so impressed with Sonesta. So here are 5 reasons I think this is the best hotel in town! 1. I call room service when I take my dogs for a walk and when I get home, our bed is made, dishes are in the dishwasher being cleaned and everything is tidied up. 2. The free full breakfast is amazing! eggs, bacon or sausage every morning, with waffles or biscuits and gravy. yogurt fruit, homemade oatmeal bar with even mini chocolate chips, and all the normal fixings. Scones, cinnamon rolls, bread and bagels, cereal, the list goes on. 3 days a week what they call happy hour, I call dinner, with games put out for families. 3. The work out room is the perfect size and I have used it and the large assortment of free weights everyday and am ample soar and excited for the hot tub each evening. 4. The kitchen is full and even with us staying here for a month I have plenty of room for all of my seasonings and extras. 5. It is the perfect spot for bringing families to play in the snow. There is a sunken park area with picnic tables in the middle and I have watched little kids play all day on sleds. I've talked to some mom's from Phoenix who said this is the perfect spot to take there kids sledding and then they can warm them up in the room right next door. For the older kids just on the other side of the fence is much bigger hills clear from trees to sled safely as well. It's honestly like this hotel has there own private winter sledding park. Selfishly I hope you don't stay here because on the weekends we have to park far from our room because it is so popular. But every single person I have interacted with that works here has been five star wonderful and deserves me to tell the truth, that this is the best place to stay in Flagstaff. read more

We booked a room with a fireplace (no fireplace to be found) & our room was no smoking (it smelled so bad of cigarette smoke) We had to wash everything we took even clean clothes because it was unbearable. I've stayed here twice now. As a former resident of Flagstaff I am SUPER picky about where I will stay, let alone walk barefoot, because frankly there are a lot of nasty hotels in this town. SONESTA ES ROCKS. They are in mid-renovation, but I couldn't tell you if I had a new or old room because it was clean, comfortable and quiet. LOVE the big room, full kitchen, and very comfy bed.. The breakfast is hearty, hot, and always changes. For the unfamiliar - the hotel is in a residential neighborhood and restaurants are a bit of a drive - so just be aware. Finally, my only disappointment was that the front desk staff was not very welcoming. I was so tired when I checked in, all I really wanted was a smiling face to welcome me. She snapped at me a few times when I asked questions or couldn't understand what she asked. (Side note: is it just me or has anyone else experienced the same "second-class citizen" treatment when checking in on a Priceline deal?) We stayed here for one night on a snowy night with our 3 year old. The hotel is located away from the main part of town, in a residential neighborhood, near the mall. Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is nicely equipped. There was enough coffee for a full carafe!! The bathroom was tiny- the sink area is outside of the bathroom while the toilet and tub are close together in a small space. The shower has a very nice shampoo/body wash dispenser. Lots of outlets throughout for gadgets. The free breakfast was ok-small but some hot options. We would consider staying here again. read more

We like this place, even when it changed to Sonesta. This place has a great breakfast free Wi-Fi. For the summer visitors a pool. For those that want to bring the dogs they do except them but you do have to do deposit. For this winter guests have fireplaces in most of the units. I don't know if they still do but they used to give you a free log so that you can enjoy the night with your special someone. We reserved for 5 nights. Arrived and found the room to be clean and as they advertised. Walked past the pool on our way to our room and found leaves and dirt at the bottom. Thought no big deal. It will be clean tomorrow. Came down the following morning to find nothing had been cleaned and contacted the front Desk. I was told maintenance would be notified. Came back at 7 to find the pool exactly the same. Our third day came down to see if it had been cleaned and there was no change. The vacuum for the pool had never left it's spot. Leaves and dirt still at the bottom of the pool. Every morning during our stay, we returned to the pool in hopes someone had cleaned it as it is one of the reasons we decided to stay here. Every time we were told by the front desk women who seemed to be here every day of the week, that she would notify the maintenance. Finally on our 4th night she told us management would be in and she would report it to them and for us to call in the morning at 8 and ask for manager. We indeed called and was told manager had not came in. When confronted about being told to call and talk to the manager I was told the same line. So I proceeded to call the only number we had which was the reservation number. I was told that I would receive a call from higher up then reservation, Corporate! I would be ignored. Never received a call. Later that evening my wife went down to office to get salt and was asked if he ever cleaned the pool. She responded not that she could see. The desk clerk said I called maintenance right away so they should have. Still to this time on our 5th night here it has not been cleaned. I again asked at 8 pm the front desk, why hasn't the pool been cleaned now for 6 days. I was told "I don't know". Even when I explained how it had been for 5 days. I got "I don't know". read more

Fantabulous! I am here in Flagstaff for work. I will be here for 3 months. Did not realize this is their tourist season and hardly any places available. I advised my recruiter that I would just leave and I was blessed that he was able to somehow get a room for me here. Wow. This has completely changed my attitude and my opinion of the area (which, yes is beautiful, but I have done beautiful). My room is fantastic, gorgeous, comfortable with everything I could need. Staff here are beyond helpful, professional. There is so much wonderful here, including, but not limited to the pool, laundry, meet and greets that I highly highly recommend a stay here. It is not cheap, by any means, but it is SO worth it. Thank you so much. read more

General Management of this hotel is severely lacking. Skunks are living on the property and sprayed my dog. The hot tub was extremely chlorinated and ruined my board shorts. To reach our room, we had to walk past a massive, smelly open dumpster sitting in the parking lot every day as they were doing some kind of work but couldn't figure out where. Additionally, we had to walk by the maintenance shed which is essentially a junkyard in operation, almost as if there's a separate business running out of it. Housekeeping was the only plus- friendly and thorough. Beware! read more

We are from out of town and purposely booked here due to the " fully equipped kitchen" as advertised. We had hoped to do some baking for the family Thanksgiving meal. We found out that they did not have hots pads, no baking dishes or cutting boards, no dish clothes or dish towels available in the kitchen. We also found out the day before Thanksgiving, that the water was going to be shut off. If you plan on staying here and need to use the oven, be prepared by bring your own baking items. I don't travel much so my expectations are pretty realistic. I can look past carpet, upholstery, and decor ... but the room itself was very cozy for my family of four. What I loved? The full kitchen - (tip, bring stuff up with you!) and the breakfast. What could be better? Grout in bathroom; where is the ice maker?; parking was a bit challenging. What I found interesting? Upgrading your wi-fi for a little extra cash ... thought that was neat. The Mobil gas station down the street? Not the fastest. My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Sonesta Suites. Everyone wore a mask. We had a 2 bedroom with fire place and it was super clean. Taylor at the front desk was so wonderful. She was friendly, very helpful and knew every thing about the area. Plus, she has a cute smile! All of the staff was great. The kitchen was fully stocked with essentials and the fridge was a full size. Also a mini fridge and coffee pot. They even supplied PJ's coffee, creamer/sugar. If you need more just ask at the desk. Also if you need more towels, look in your closet in your room. Or ask at the desk. The free breakfast was Covid, but enough for us. Apples, oranges, juices, coffee and free water. They had yogurt, bagels and English muffins plus regular large muffins with jams and peanut butter. They had sacks for on-the-go if you wanted it that way. For the money and away from the train noise, this is the place to stay!!! read more

Sonesta Suites in Flagstaff were clean, bright and comfortable. Free breakfast was included, and it was actually very good. Lots of variety, plus fresh fruit. The only complaint we had was with the loveseat/sleep sofa. There were three of us and one adult ended up on the sleep sofa, which had a VERY tired mattress. Needless to say, they woke up sore and tired. Sleep sofas are notorius for being uncomfirtable, so I don't understand why hotels don't change the mattresses more often. Stick with the regular mattress beds and you'll be fine. read more

Very nice staff, full kitchen and a fireplace, and SNOW! We stayed here on a recent ski trip to Flagstaff. The rooms are relatively spacious, and the couch, desk, and fireplace are nice. The full kitchen was also great, even though we didn't have a chance to cook anything. The queen bed was comfortable. The room was very clean and cozy. The free breakfast was much better than you'd expect from a hotel free breakfast. After we got back from dinner and drinks, the front desk lent us Scrabble to play in the lobby while we enjoyed some adult beverages. If I was being extra picky, I would say that they could use some new TV's...they got old tube TV's that don't swivel, so you have to physically move the TV if you want to watch it in bed. I stayed her with my boyfriend and our 2 dogs and had a GREAT experience. The grounds were well kept and the dog park are was perfect. The place was quiet and homey and we were very pleasantly surprised by the breakfast provided. They managed to make us feel safe with COVID and still fill our tummies. Stayed here for 3 days and two nights with my boyfriend and our three dogs. Loved that it's pet friendly with poo stations, a semi fenced in area for our dogs to run a bit, continental breakfast (which we didn't go to), large couch, and a fire place with a complimentary fire log. Large kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and pots and pans if needed. The only downside to this place is that from where our room was we couldn't connect to the free wifi and the TV was an ancient boob tube, but we didn't come here to watch TV and spend our time on the internet. It was down the street, literally less than 5 minutes, from my friends house which was perfect. There were some woods right out back that we explored. Food and grocery stores were a drive away, but nothing terrible for us. We'd stay here again in a heart beat. read more

We had to stop here on our way out of Grand Canyon because we liked the accommodations so much. Nice facilities and even has kitchen and fridge you can use! Also, the internet will make you create an account and takes your information, but still won't let you log in :( was hoping to switch out my music through Spotify overnight for a really long drive without reception, but I guess that's not gonna happen. read more

Maybe I just don't notice little things like other people reviewing this hotel, but this is literally the best hotel i've ever stayed at. Now, to be fair, I typically travel VERY cheap and choose a 1-2 star hotel with the best reviews, but this hotel was really great from top to bottom. Parking was fine, but who cares even if it was hard. Wifi worked great. Front desk was helpful when I needed them, and they provided plenty of fire wood. Location was great during winter as they are near an open field which gets covered in snow. Full breakfast was awesome. Our 2 bedroom was very spacious; I have no clue if it was updated, but I don't really care. The bed was very comfortable as well. Overall we had a great stay, and I would love to come back here for our next vacation to Flagstaff. We were able to visit on a Groupon deal, but even if I had to pay full price I would do so. read more
