Prices for wedding invitations can range from about $3 for the simplest design to about $7 for the laser cut design. There are many samples to look at in person but it is not organized and can be disappointing when the sample is no longer available in a specific color or just in general. Me and my mother in law were picking out samples and we had to go with the third choice because the design or color of the first two choices were not available. The invitations are only printed therefore the folding and any gluing would need to be done by yourself. The turnaround time for the invitations was very quick. read more

I love how our invitations turned out! After shopping around, Song Hy gave us the best quality of work for the price. We were able to get a pocket invitation with shimmer layering paper and raised printing for an awesome deal. They have many samples to choose from so you can picture different variations with style, paper textures, designs, and print color. My fiancé and I picked out our invitation style at the shop and wanted to make some alterations to the design. Grade: B- My original stationery designer fell through (see review on Sweet Paper Studio), so I had to rush order through Song Hy, who printed our Save the Dates. This time, though, we didn't have the design to give the printer. The owner was very friendly and professional. He is very experienced with Asian style invitations. However, the first mock-up was very outdated, with way too many images and designs. What did impress me was that they were able to follow my edits/changes on e-mails (bulletpoints). Plusses: Quick to design my layout Quick with responses (e-mails/calls) In the amount of time that we had, he did well Minuses: He doesn't have as keen of an eye with design as my previous stationer His font options are not as pretty The printed invitations are OK, a 3 out of 5 stars - not the same quality as I saw with my previous stationer, mygatsby, or Papyrus (where I ordered all of my other invitations) Overpriced for the 75 invitations (set of 3) - I provided all paper However, if a design is provided, I think the printing is executed better. When I gave him the design for our save-the-dates, he printed everything beautifully. This time around, he came up with the design, and I think the motif he chose was a bit too busy and did not print up as cleanly as I'd like. But as I was in a hurry, I honestly didn't mind. So I was on a budget for my wedding-- had already spent so much on the venue, flowers, dress, etcetera, that I knew I had to cut back somewhere, and that ended up being the invitations. How to find elegant looking cards on the cheap? Well, I turned to Little Saigon and the biggest invitation shop in Bolsa, Song Hy Printing. When I first came into the shop, the lights were all turned off and the owner quickly turned them on for us. Yes, you guessed it, they were working in the dark to save money on their electric bill. The sample invitations on the wall were seriously outdated and gaudy. I was panicking about the selection at this point, but I was determined. Finally, a more simple tri-fold pocket invitation design on the wall caught my eye. I asked the owner if there were others like it, more colors. He magically produced a box of beautiful invitations, printed on shimmer paper and with raised lettering. Upgrades like these cost a fortune in most invitation places. Not here. The fonts weren't as nice as some of the other invitations I had coveted at other stores like Papyrus, but similar enough. The cost? About a 1/2- 1/3 the price of similar styles I had seen at other places. To further save on costs, I was told that I would have to assemble my invites on my own. I was given some boxes of sticky glue dots (purchased separately) and it took a couple of evenings of DIY-ing the printed materials from Song Hy, but the end result was that I had gorgeous invites that looked about 3 times more expensive than they were. Don't be discouraged by the shop and the limited samples displayed. Maybe bringing in a picture or sample from elsewhere of the style you want would be more helpful. Love Song Hy Printing! My fiance and I stumbled on Song Hy Printing on Yelp after another local place we visited didnt quite have what we were looking for. RIght when we walked in we saw many wedding invitation samples! Many to choose from not like the previous place we visited. We were then greeted by Nghia who I believe is the owner. I am vietnamese and my fiance is filipino. He first greeted us in Vietnamese, until he found out my fiance is filipino. Come to find out he speaks fluent english! This is very helpful because my fiance got to communicate what he wanted. We told him what we had in mind and Nghia was helpful every step of the way. He showed us many possibilities, gave us many options, and even tips on how to save money on the invites, (ie, which paper to use, 3 layers or two, ribbon or no ribbon) When we finally chose our invites. He told us to email him our sample and he can sumbit us a draft via email in 3 days. We submitted our draft that night and the very NEXT day we sent us a draft. With very minimal errors, he was very fast in returning email and submitting revised copies! Once final we had our invites printed that same WEEK! When we arrive to pick up our invites they were neatly packaged and all accounted for. We couldnt be more happy with how our invitations turned out. They definately looked better in person! We had our Vietnamese invitations done here and were impressed by their selections in color and paper! We ended up with a simple and elegant design. We mixed and matched fonts, ribbons, designs, and colors which the owners were totally cool with. They have more samples and colors- you just have to ask. My future sister in law even found a Tiffany blue that she says will be her future invites! ;) They let us look around and let us take our time. After, they sent us an email to proof read and make any corrections. A few weeks later, they called us and they were ready. They also advised us to use glue dots to assemble the invitations. The gentleman who was inside was sorely lacking in customer service skills and he barely greeted me. When I stated my interest in custom wedding invitations, he showed me a large pile of disorganized wedding invitations and walked away. All the invitations were similar in quality and style with no option for customization. The upside is that the invitations were about $4 a piece for printing in Vietnamese or English. Truly a hidden gem. I ordered wedding invitations from Song Hy on Sunday and I was able to mail them out Thursday morning. Mr. Nghia gave me a price that was 50% less than 6 other printing shops I got a quote from. We were in a rush to get our invites printed due to a time constraint, Mr. Nghia made a promise to have them done by Wednesday and worked until 10:00pm to deliver that promise. This shop seems to be Vietnamese owned, but don't let that intimidate you Mr. Nghia speaks fairly good English and there are hundreds of samples available for you to look at. You're able to write exactly what you want your order to read and a proof will be sent to you for final approval prior to anything being printed. I cannot say enough good things about the shop. We've received so many compliments from our friends and family on how beautiful the wedding invitations looked. We were able to customize everything from the type of paper, font style, designs, colors of the font, ribbons, and raised lettering was included at no extra cost. It was important to my family to have the wedding invitations printed in both English and Vietnamese and the owners made it so easy to do so, we just needed to provide the basic information like our names, parent's names, ceremony/reception information and they did all the wording in both languages for us. My fiance is Vietnamese and we needed bilingual wedding invitations. After being referred from a couisn, we came to Song Hy and browsed through their extensive selection before finding a design that was just right for us. On top of that, it was well below the quoted price of other vendors in the Los Angeles area -- with better paper quality. I like the shimmer that is added in the print. It makes the invitations look really unique & more expensive than they actually were. They sent over proofs via email and worked with us throughout our many edits. They don't print unless you sign off on the proof and even welcomed us counting each piece of card stock before picking up to ensure accuracy. The invites don't come assembled but it was quick and easy to do. Now they are out in the mail and heading to our guests. Can't wait to hear their reactions. read more

I had a really bad experience with them. I first came in with my husband to check out this place, a lady came out and greeted us and I asked for the laser cut design I want for my invitations. They said they didn't do it, so we left. I came home and asked my friend who works at a printing place to help me out. We finished the announcements and R.S.V.P but there was still the Reception left and he has a vacation to go back to his country. Therefore, I went back to this place again with my mom and sister to ask them to print the Reception alone. I brought my Announcement and RSVP with me to show her, if she had any color would match those cards. The same lady greeted us, after I gave her the cards she asked: "Is this paper from Vietnam?" I was like:"WTH?!?" We tried to match them but she had no color to match. Then she said:"I don't print ugly cards like this." We had our wedding invitations printed here. The turn around time is very quick. The only bad thing was that you had to put the cards together yourself but it does save money. Quality was actually pretty good. They do have a limited amount of designs so if you are looking into designing your own cards then try else where. However, if you want a simple card that looks good then they do a great job. A lot cheaper than some of the other places that we have seen. Came in here twice, 1st time for my parents anniversary invitations but didn't end up going with them. 2nd time I came in was for my wedding invitations. When we walked in the owner looked up like "what do you want?" We asked if we could see some more Western Style Wedding invitations. They just pointed to some dusty samples. They looked really outdated and cheesy. They charge you separately for the labor of the gluing and ribbons. With their crappy service and ugly samples I wonder how this place stays in business. I did a lot of research for wedding invitations online and in malls. Online, you can get nice invites for about $4 each, but the risk is you can't see the quality of the paper or ink prior. You can order a sample for $3 but some charge you $15 to ship it. In the malls, you can touch & feel, but they are about $8 per invite on avg. So Yelp led us to Song Hy. We came with the understanding that this isn't going to be a high end, full service fancy shmancy place. Go in with that mind set. The owner greeted us as we came in, pointed us to the wedding section, and after we selected an invite, he showed us all the different colors and printing styles we could chose from. He told us upfront that we would need to assemble and tape some things together (tip - buy their tape dots, so easy!). We only needed 60 invites so we paid $5 each. You can get better pricing the more invites you buy. He emailed us a proof the next day, and the invites were ready for pick up about 7-8 days later. They were perfect, beautiful, high quality paper, sparkles in the ink, raised lettering, and some exterior emblems give more dimension. Excellent! I couldn't be happier and all for a great price! At first I thought this place was good for the price we paid for our wedding invitations. When we recieved our invitations we needed to assemble them ourselves which was fine. But any person would assume to use a glue stick right? Well our letters on the invitation started peeling and when we brought the invitations back for them to fix they claimed it was our fault because we were supposed to use double sided tape not glue. It was bad customer service they said for them to reprint it it would cost a lot but since it's our fault we would have to pay the cost. Five stars all around. The cards were exactly the same as the samples we looked at. The cardstock is thick and has a texture to them, not like cheap cardstock. The printing was beautiful with raised lettering and hints of subtle glitter that's elegant not cheesy. He made us a sample so we had an idea of how to assemble ourselves. Inexpensive compared to all the "American" places I looked into for this quality. Communication in English was top notch, conducted mostly through email which is my preference. I made several changes, changing my mind on certain things back and forth too, and he was responsive to them all without a hint of annoyance. My advice: Proofread your cards with a fine tooth comb multiple times with each round of emails and have other(s) look at it too for good measure before saying print. Think of him as your transcriber, you are your own editor. He prints them EXACTLY how you approved them. read more

Their selection is very limited and base price can be $2.00 (at the wedding invitations I looked at). They offer many modern Vietnamese and American style wedding invitations. Books and books of samples. They also have Vietnamese wedding supplies such as the trays, car decorations, foam lettering and even rentals of arches. Printed day wrong on invitation for the restaurant but had it correct for the ceremony. Would not reprint it but rather charge us more for getting it right. Color was also not what she showed us, it was a duller gold. Going somewhere else to have it done, just wish we hadn't spent all that money for pieces of paper and ink we can't use. I've wasted $200 on invitation at this place and 175 invitation went in the trash.
