She was strictly business, no small talk, no effort to make me feel comfortable, just work, work, work. In fact, it was probably the fastest manicure I've ever had. What surprised me most was that there were none of the finishing touches I've come to expect from a manicure. There was no hand rinse at the end to remove the nail dust and debris, no hand massage. She did ask if I wanted lotion or cuticle oil, but it felt more like an obligation than a genuine offer. Since my hands were still covered with filing dust, I declined the lotion and oil because I would have preferred to wash my hands first. The gel manicure itself turned out fine, but the overall experience felt rushed and impersonal. I paid and left without feeling like much care had been put into the customer experience. It's been about a month now and my nails have not chipped, they're still going so that's a plus.
