We had Robyn provide the florals and decor for our wedding this past weekend, and I can't say enough just how perfectly she captured our vision. We were getting married outdoors at a very beautiful venue, so we really only needed some accent pieces. My husband is a botanist, and during our meeting with Robyn, the two of them really hit it off talking about potential ideas. By the time I saw the venue and my bouquet, I could not have been more impressed. Our experience with Songbird Floristry was a poor one due to a combination of COVID-19 and the resulting customer service that we received. My husband and I had booked Songbird's services for our wedding, which was originally scheduled for May, postponed to September, then ultimately cancelled due to the virus. While we appreciated Songbird's willingness to allow us to initially postpone, they were less understanding when it came to us requesting a refund. We were told that we would not be refunded our deposit, despite there being no language in our contract stating that deposits were non-refundable or that refunds were not allowed. Songbird cited a clause in the contract that stated that there are no reductions allowed and said that this would be considered a "100% reduction." Generous parsing of the language aside, we simply wanted our money back on account of not receiving any rendered services, and because there was nothing legally or contractually preventing us from doing so. Considering the circumstances (and that we made it clear that we had every intention of still giving Songbird our business if and when we could definitively reschedule), we did not believe this to be an unreasonable request. In response, Songbird offered us credit or the opportunity to keep our deposit with them for a rescheduled wedding in the future, but given how uncertain everything is right now, we have no idea if or when we'll be able to reschedule; that's to say nothing of the fact that $600+ in our pockets now is more useful to us than sitting on hold for a wedding that may or may not happen. When appealing to decency did not prevail, we filed a complaint with the Oregon DoJ's Consumer Protection Agency in an attempt to seek outside mediation. Songbird still refused to reconsider (even a compromise in which a partial refund was granted would have been sufficient), stating that COVID-19 did not void our contract and that "couples continue to marry every day." In a time where hosting a wedding could literally be a matter of life and death -- especially for older members of our families -- it seemed flippant to us that part of Songbird's counterargument was that plenty of people are still having weddings, suggesting that our cancellation was a matter of choice rather than our hands being forced by a global pandemic. We had no desire to cancel our own wedding and deal with the logistical fallout that resulted, including trying to recoup losses that occurred by no fault of our own. While we have no doubt that Songbird will have a statement of their own to make about this debacle (which they are well within their rights to do), we nonetheless felt compelled to share the facts about our experience so as to warn potential customers about who they are going into business with. read more

The Songbird Floristry planning tool was so easy to use and was so helpful when planning every item needed. The follow-up phone call that discussed the request questions, the mood of the wedding, the colors, and the flowers was so helpful as well. Robyn was so responsive, really helpful when determining the floral decor pieces needed, and followed up on every detail - all the way down to bouquet ribbon color and flower bud vase height. I did not give Robyn a lot to work with when it came to ideas for bouquets, and she completely exceeded my expectations. I came to my wedding venue with the absolutely most beautiful floral set up I could have imagined. I booked Robyn and Songbird Floristry for our wedding in June of 2022. Their planning tool was a huge help for budgeting and visualization, and my consultation with Robyn was so helpful. She was a joy to work with! When we had to cancel our wedding the day before it was scheduled because I tested positive for COVID, Robyn was able to change our delivery location to our home and even changed up the style of the arrangements to work without a wedding arch, so we were still able to use them for the mini-ceremony we had in the park. They were so beautiful that when we scheduled a do-over reception at our original venue, I knew I needed flowers by Songbird again. I didn't initially think flowers would be so important to me, but they were so gorgeous that I splurged for a second (smaller) order for the reception, and was once again floored by the quality of the arrangements as well as the ease of ordering and communicating with Robyn and her team.
