I really wanted to love this place but the food is just not of good quality. I've ordered from here twice and both times I was unsatisfied and unfulfilled. The first time I had braised wings. The food is always spectacular. The only time I have ever been disappointed is when I got dry teriyaki skewers, but overall, everything else has been stellar. Their orange chicken is good, their steamed dumplings are delicious, and their French fries are good, too. I've also had their chicken lo mein a few times and it's so warm and flavorful. I grew up eating their food, so that should tell you how many times I have not been disappointed by them. The service is always pleasant. Wait times are as expected by any restaurant that makes items to-order and fresh. I call ahead and they are almost always on time. The few times they haven't been were due to the level of customers that had dinner rush orders or large party orders. I wouldn't eat in the restaurant, as there is a small dining space and a lot of commotion from the kitchen, but the staff are always friendly and I love eating at home, so it works out. They also have pictures of the local sports' teams on the wall, and those are fun to look at and see the history of community in this staple of the Rose Creek Shopping Center. read more

Oh no! What happened?! Song's was my go-to in Woodstock. It was the best Chinese food in Woodstock. Period. We hadn't ordered in a number of months so we placed an order today 10/14/25. The big, beautiful and flavorful dumplings are gone! They've been replaced by run of the mill standard and boring dumplings like you can get at any average Chinese restaurant. Those perfect dumplings have been killed. Murdered in the first degree. Changed to subpar trash. I can't believe this! Even the General Tso recipe is different. The powerful flavor-packed sauce is gone. It's now nearly flavorless and the chicken is bone dry. WHAT HAPPENED TO SONG's?!!! I'm so sad. I have zero reason to ever order from the again now, especially that I have to pick it up myself. This place used to be awesome. Everything was delicious, and well made. The owner, Song, was a nice guy who remembered all of his "regulars" whether it was behind the counter at his restaurant, or walking down the aisle of Home Depot. But then he decided to retire. He sold the business to some relatives, and thats when the trouble started. The first thing I noticed was a huge difference in the quality of the ingredients they were using. I mean, heck, cheaper chicken = more profits, right? It also means stringy chicken. The next, even bigger thing I noticed is their ability to be consistent. You can order the same food 3 times in a row, and it tastes a bit different each time. Sometimes its too salty, and sometimes you need to flood it with soy sauce to make it edible. I finally stopping going there altogether when my kids begged me not to go there again. Even my kids didnt like the changes. Sadly, the other local places aren't very good either. This was the best. Every now and then I try again to see if they're worth it again, only to be let down. read more

Being pregnant I was craving Chinese! My SIL mentioned that there weren't very many good Chinese options in Woodstock (we just moved here), but to try this place. It was about $40 for rangoons, lo mein, general tso, and 2 egg rolls. The lo mein was so greasy, and the noodles were hard - not fresh or just totally overdone. Used to be the best, but now has at least doubled in price and the food is mediocre at best (I think the fried rice is bought in a frozen pouch at the grocery store), the crunchy noodles that go in soup are always stale and it takes forever to get the food. I have been doing business with the same Chinese restaurant for the past 20+ years, but after things changed it caused me to look around for another place. I saw several reviews on Yelp about Songs Garden so I decided to return the favor for others looking for awesome Chinese food. It is clear that this is a well run restaurant with quality food. It looks like a mostly Take Out restaurant but after my first visit I could tell this will be my new favorite take out restaurant. The egg rolls are Awesome and are larger than most. I ordered chicken with garlic sauce, veggie soup, and an egg roll. All of my food was delicious, though it was not as hot/spicy as I usually like it to be. I added some chili sauce they gave to me which kicked up the heat very well. If you are looking for awesome Chinese food, Songs Garden is worth your time to check out. My Woodstock takeout place, when I lived in the area we ordered from here at least once a week! Very well-priced, incredibly friendly staff with great memories, fast delivery, yummy food... What's not to love? My personal favorite is the chicken fingers, which might sound weird, but they do them in sweet and sour style batter and they are soooo good! Never had a bad experience, and they are wonderfully consistent. Also extremely charming/impressive, the owner recognizes me & my order every time, even though I moved away from the area 5 years ago! We went to Song's based on several Yelp reviews by people whose other reviews have steered us swell. This time, not so much. I found the food to be mundane Chinese takeout and the egg rolls, so highly recommended, to be the basic frozen-reheated cabbage-y glop in an overfried shell. The wonton soup had plenty of wontons in a decent, but not exceptional, broth. My wife ordered the lemon chicken which was well -prepared and a generous portion. She said she would order it again. On ther other hand, my moo shu pork was a brown stew of cabbage and other unidentifiable vegetable bitswith slivers of pork making the occasional appearance. The pancakes were provided wrapped in plastic and were nigh unto impossible to separate. Is it impossible to dust these with a bit of cornstarch to prevebnt them from forming a solid brick? The only reason this gets 2is due to the fact that this is not Chinese food. Pepper steak had great ingredients but the flavor was way off. Pepper steak should be savory with some heat not sweet. Ordered the sesame chicken, well it was supposed to be chicken, the only thing about this meat that resembled chicken was the smell which was fowl. . Very Good Food. My friend and I decided to stop in for dinner. Song's Garden is not large - they only have 5 tables situated in front of the order counter. However, they are very busy with take out and delivery. We decided to eat there and the staff was very friendly and brought our food to the table in a reasonable period of time.
