My husband's torta was MASSIVE - it came with fries too! He gave the other half of the sandwich to his parents because they didn't love what they ordered (Flautas were too crispy for them). We got a melon agua fresca to share and that was delicious and refreshing, albeit quite sweet. I do wish they weren't using styrofoam for their drink and to go containers.. So I was wanting a burrito, I asked the cashier gentleman questions what goes inside, how is it, what's it come with like sides and all. He told me asked me what meat I wanted for the burrito I was ordering, I said ground beef, he said they don't have that, closest thing would be the steak. I'm not going to lie when I heard no ground beef I was going to say cancel on my order and I was going to leave. I was upset, hearing no ground beef as an option. But I stood there with the thought get the steak option that he offered, do it. Just do it. Say it. And I did, I kept the ordering going. I ordered the steak meat especial burrito. And omg it was fantastic! I fell in love with this place. I definitely recommend this place. It's a one-block kind of town, not the place you'd think to go for Central American cuisine. The building is on the older side, but they've done a nice job with it and it has some charm. The menu includes pupusas and various other Latin American cuisine, notably possessing a vegetarian section. Notably, they have a time set aside on Sunday afternoon (which is often when I'm eating at restaurants) where they are apparently in pupusa prep mode and say that these delicacies may not be available. However, I dropped in just after 5 and they told me they were good to go. The classic options they offer were well rendered here. A queso loroco, which the menu explains in detail, offered large flower buds and a strong flavor contrast. The accompanying sides of pickled cabbage and sauce made for a typically dynamic flavor experience. And the great thing about ordering pupusas is that you can really get the size of meal you want. Three makes a good meal, but you could just get a snack, or add an appetizer. It's a good thing to search for, particularly if on a road trip for a region that is very pretty but not overwhelmed with diverse culinary options.
