The Sonic in Alamosa, CO is A-okay. The service back on 10/8/2023 was painfully slow. Our cordial carhop was apologetic while handing me our food & drinks, but it was nearly a 20-minute wait. That's absurd for this fast food chain. Thank goodness our order was correct and there were no complaints from the backseat or my passenger cowboy. Not only does this Sonic have all of the drive-in spots, but there is also a drive-thru. Happy hour is applies to certain drinks when you order through their app which is very user-friendly. read more

This asshole asks me "do you mind going through the drive thru" it's 4:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Terrible customer service.

Sonic is known for having an abundance of malts, shakes and other drinks. Then how the HECK can they be this SLOW!? We waited 15 minutes for them to just take our order. I walked to the front to ask the server what was going on and she said only one person was taking orders. We didn't leave a tip because of the bad service and now the one person taking orders is just a few $$ down. I read the reviews before stopping here but didn't listen. This place has like a 1 star review and now I know why. Come on. Do better Sonic. You're a FAST FOOD place. BTW if you're thinking, "Why did you stay and still order?" I'll tell you why: we had 4 grandsons spread between 3 cars and we didn't want to tell them that we changed our minds. They were being so patient after driving 90 minutes as we headed towards the Great Sand Dunes. PS still waiting for our drinks after arriving 20 minutes. read more

We pulled up into a stall and ordered our food on the app. I love the convenience of being able to take my time when ordering my food. Especially because it was for a big size family. Three adults and three children. After I place the order we decided we wanted to sit out and eat our food at the tables. We found a worker outside and I let them know that we moved from our parking spot to the tables upfront. She said she would change it in the system and let someone know.. we ordered our food at 3:09 PM and around 3:35pm someone said "we're sorry for the wait we will get your food right out" we didn't get our food until 350pm. INSANE WAIT TIME! We had three kids meals. One with fries two with tots, instead they gave us all fries. I was missing my fries from my meal and we were one straw short for drinks. It was near impossible to get ahold of anyone to let them know the situation. They did not answer when you push the red button and they would not come out when we knocked on the window to where they are working. 15min later and I was able to almost get them to correct the order. Except they gave us one tot and one fry (should've been two tots) but there was just no way we were gonna wait for them to bring another. HOWEVER I did still need a straw for my drink and that took at least another 5minutes to get. I'm sure they are short staffed but damn. It was over an hour to get all of our proper food. Did I mention we had a baby with us as well?? So that made the wait a little more unbearable as well. Food was ok. Service was awful. read more

I generally try to avoid posting negative reviews, but this Sonic is ridiculous. Of the half dozen or so times I have come here and ordered on the app, I have had to push the red button to get my food brought out three times. The order places as expected, the on screen status updates all the way to "your order is on the way," but then after a few minutes the screen defaults to the usual ads and I am still waiting. I give two stars because I love the drive in vibe and the food, other than being delivered cold half the time, is always good. But if you are craving a quality Sonic experience, I have had much better (though far from perfect) luck at the one down the road in Monte Vista. read more

If I could give this sonic here in Alamosa zero stars I would check your food make sure they have spit they forget half your order, or it doesn't come out right. I ordered a green chili burger one time and they gave me a double cheeseburger. If you order a chili cheese dog make sure that they don't put it on the bottom of your bag for the cheese sticks to the wrapper and they're always not giving you condiments, they just suck in general I don't recommend read more

Wish I could give it a zero star. Service is slow. Now when I say slow I mean slow slow. Pushed the button, with one other car waiting it took 6 minutes to answer us. Then ordered food, two shakes and some mozzarella sticks. 17 minutes later still no food or drinks. Was going to drive off but couldn't tell if the machine took my card so I had to wait. TERRIBLE service. My husband and I came here to get a nice night out to feel like we were dating again. We waited for an hour for our food. We got a double bacon cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks. This Sonic is the worst. They are extremely slow ALL THE TIME. I've had so many awful experiences here but the final offense was on May 31st during the lunch hour. I had placed a mobile order for some chicken strips and a diet coke. I decided to go through the drive through because unfortunately the layout of this sonic can have you trapped if you go in a stall and the drive through line gets long. I pulled up to the box and let them know I had placed a mobile order. She did not check it but told me to pull up. When I got to the window I was met by the absolute nastiest employee I have ever encountered in my life, Victoria. She came to the window and flung it opened and just stared at me. I was not sure what she wanted so I politely mentioned I had a mobile order with my name. She told me she did not have an order for me. I had already pulled up the app so I showed her my order and asked if it was the right address (I knew it was but wanted to be sure). She said it was but she didn't have an order for me. I said "okay well I'm showing you my receipt for this location with the date and time so can you please just make my food". She got extremely snotty with me saying "well i don't make the food so no". I cannot explain the level of shock I had that she was treating me this way. I said "Okay then can whoever cooks the food get me my order". She said "That's not how this works you dont just get food without an order". I again showed her my receipt and she slammed the window and walked off. I waited there cause I wasn't sure what else to do, I wasn't going to leave without food or a refund because at this point I did not trust them. She came back stating that they had "found the order" but it would take a while to make. I said that was find and I would wait. She again slammed the window and walked off for about 7 minutes and then finally came back with my food. I told her she did not need to be so rude to me and she snapped back that I had been being rude (I can assure I was very nice initially until she became absurd with me and expected me to just drive off, then yes I did get an attitude back at her). I asked for her name and she gave it to me and said she'd get her manager. Honestly I've worked in fast food and know often the managers are nice to customers faces but often brush it off and at this point I was already late to get back to work so I took her name and left. I have not been back to Sonic since this incident and I don't plan to. I've never been treated so poorly in this situation. I had a similar experience happen at dairy queen recently where they didn't have the order but I had the receipt and their manager stepped in and helped out and everyone involved was very nice, sonic should take some notes. Honestly.. this is probably the worst sonic i've ever been to. After pushing the button to order we waited quite a while. Then we waited again for our food for a considerably long time considering this is fast food. They were out of tots so they gave chili cheese fries. The fries were gross and hard as well as cold, like they were not fresh at all. My friend and I both received cold chicken with not much sauce (we both ordered the sauces popcorn chicken w extra sauce). Our slush was not blended well and had lots of ice chunks. We were hungry after driving all day so we ate here but it was pretty disappointing. read more

While passing through town, I thought we would stop in at sonic. I had the corn dog kids meal, and my husband had a crispy chicken wrap. The food was good, but there was no toy in my kids meal, and there was no whip cream and cherry on my milkshake. This Sonic is the worst. Never have onion rings. Today I ordered 2 1/4 cheese burgers. Out of the small hamburger patties so they used 1 large patty. One ordered mayo & onion only. Received extra onion and no mayo. The other one didn't have cheese. Ordered 1lg unsweetened tea and 1 lg unsweetened tea with peach. The lady at the window confirmed my drink order. Absolutely the worst Sonic ever!! Pulled in to see an employee in the parking lot smoking. Another was with her as they chatted with what appeared to be another employee who had just ended their shift. Horrible customer service. My burger had cold meat and a stale bun. It was as if it had been made hours earlier and just sat somewhere until I had the misfortune of ordering it. Fries were warm but very rubbery. My order was even delivered with the wrong receipt. Could not eat any of it. Tried to call someone back to our space and no one would answer. There were only 2 other cars parked and no one in the drive thru. I'm guessing everyone was outside smoking again. So angry I left after throwing the disgusting food on the parking lot. The owner should fire everyone and start again. I finally drove over to a drive in menu and had to press the order button twice before a person actually spoke to me. And of course as soon as I did that they started taking orders with the drive through lane. Ordered a large sonic blast with M and Ms and Oreos, was given a small sonic blast in a large cup with a top layer of toppings and that's it. As soon as they gave me the cup I could immediately feel the difference between the normal large amount at any other sonic vs what they gave me. They also tried charging me twice. read more

Excellent prices and (in my opinion) some of the best quality fast-food out there. Service is quick, even during their rush hours. Their drinks Happy Hour 2-4pm everyday is reason enough to visit. Sonic is always offering some great specials/promotions. For all the burgers out there they are probably my favorite fast-food burgers one can get from a nationwide chain. read more

Poor service. Lie about having to clean ice cream machines so they can go home early. Asked for ketchup packets and when I went to go use them they were super sticky to where I could barely open them. I get it's fast food, but if you don't want to work, then go home.
