I was really craving a hotdog so although it took about 40 minutes to successfully submit my order and receive my food, I'm thankful! The hotdog was everything I expected and I even got a strawberry limeade for this random 70° weather. The manager(?) was servicing the drive through and the kiosk orders. I honestly don't like leaving bad reviews, but this experience was really disappointing. I ordered a Footlong Quarter Pound Coney and Chili Cheese Tots online around 8:30 p.m. When I got to the restaurant, the drive-thru line was completely empty, but I still didn't get my food until around 9:15 p.m. After waiting that long, I got home only to find that the Coney was cold and didn't even seem fully cooked, so I couldn't eat it. The Chili Cheese Tots were so hard they were basically rocks and were impossible to eat. The only things that were actually good were the 5-piece Crispy Tenders and the Blue Raspberry Lemonade. What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant didn't seem short-staffed. I even got out of my car to ask what was taking so long and saw several employees in the back. Waiting that long is one thing, but waiting that long just to get cold, inedible food is really frustrating. Terrible location with a tremendously long wait time. I tried going inside and was told I had to go through the drive-thru instead - just a FYI, the inside seems to be closed even for ordering. It's completely dark inside for the sit in dining area. The person taking orders over the drive-thru speaker sounded like she absolutely hated her job and had no desire to be there. The food took over 25 minutes and the crazy part is that it was only one slushie, no actual food. I was asked 4 times what's the name for the order before I actually got the slushie. I arrived at the drive-thru about an hour before closing, only to be told by a young lady working there that they were "done taking orders for the night." That's completely unacceptable. If the business hours say you're open, you should be serving customers. Turning people away well before closing time is poor customer service and reflects badly on management. They are operating drive thru only and it's super inconvenient if you have the app.all of the drive up spots have causation tape around them or there are cars parked blocking the spaces. Looks very tacky. I tried placing an app order and it wasn't working properly. I tried to get some help once I got to the drive they speaker and the employee wasn't helpful. I ended up placing 2 separate orders one in the app and one at the speaker. The drive thru line was extremely slow also to only be operating that one way. I don't normally come to sonic but when I do it's for the 1/2 drinks and slushes thru the app or any deal they have going on. I am incredibly disappointed by the service of this Sonic. I came in to order food for myself and not only were the wait times outrageously long, the food was barely warm. Another problem that completely ruined my experience was that they gave me the completely wrong order. I not only confirmed with the server before receiving the food but I also checked the receipts making sure I had the right order before driving off and yet the horror I had when I opened the bag to find that they had completely messed up my order left me in a state of despair. Sonic has a place in the world and they have a unique niche that none of the other fast food places really inhabit. You can park your car and order without having to move. This is insanely handy for the parent with a bunch of kids or the commuter who just doesn't feel like getting out or the lazy bastard (Not me. No, really. I'm not lazy!) who doesn't want to get out of a car that is loaded with stuff just pulled from the storage unit. Pull up to a slot, figure out what you want, press the button and order. Heck, you can even pay the sign directly with your credit or debit card! After a bit, a carhop brings your food right to your window. Sometimes, they're even wearing roller skates. I mean, how cool is that! Burgers are solid and have the usual fixings. They also do hot dogs ("coneys") with an assortment of toppings. Today I went with the "Bacon and Blue" which was yummy but probably not a great idea. Lots of loose bits that kept falling out of the sandwich and into my lap. Or into the seat of the car. Especially the poppy seeds. So next time I'll have something else. But it was sure yummy! I'm surprised this Sonic doesn't have more stars. I've never had a bad experience here. The other night I really wanted mozzarella sticks, so I decided to go here. I went up to one of the drive up speaker. It did take a little while for someone to take my order. I also felt like the order taker rushed me. I wound up ordering mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and a corn dog. My car hop, Ayesha, was great! She was so sweet and is one of the nicest fast food workers I have ever encountered. She was great at making conversation and was very accommodating. My food was hot and fresh. However, I did ask for ranch sauce with my mozzarella sticks and got marinara instead. Not a big deal, but I should have checked the bag before leaving the parking lot. I will definitely continue to visit this Sonic location. read more

Ehhh.. we've experienced better Sonics. If you're in Charlotte and don't mind a drive, visit the one near Mt. Holly. Service was exceptionally slow and poor. Messed up my bill over 3 times and still got one of the items wrong. Mind you, it was only 2 milkshakes (coconut cream pie master shake, oreo chocolate master shake- they did vanilla instead of chocolate) and 1 slushie. One of the doors to the inside was supposed to be open, I guess in anticipation of closing (arrived shortly after 11pm, they close at 12 am) they locked them. The blonde opened it so I could use the restroom. Inside was dark, dirty, trash overflowing and a pool of liquid on the floor in the indoor dining room. Smelled funky. Inside the restroom, toilet paper and soap was stocked. Sink worked as well as one stall, handicapped stall was out of service. Moral of the story, go to the Mt. Holly location. read more
