Wowwww!!!! Let's talk about this place!?!?!? So believe it or not this was my first time at Sonic even tho I work next door to them. I am looking for the best chili cheese hot dog in town and a co worker mentioned that they had good hot dogs and also a foot long chili cheese hot dog so I could not wait to try it. Since I was alone and in a hurry I decided to go to the drive through and not to wait in the parking lot as they have roller skater to bring you the food, they also have tables for you to eat there if you want. I got a foot long chili cheese hot dog and tater tots. My food came out fast and the guy who brought my food was REALLY nice. Normally in these fast food places the employees are not so nice but this time it was different. The hot dog was just AMAZING!!! And the tater tots crunch and not grease at all! So far this is the best hot dog that I've ever had, I will keep looking for a better one even tho I believe it might be almost impossible to beat their hot dog! read more

after waiting for my food for 35 minute, the carhop came outside just to tell me i had to wait another 10-15 minutes for my food. i was obviously frustrated but gave him the benefit of the doubt because there were lots of customers outside. after 15 minutes goes by, he come back out with my order and then drops my bags of food on the table and almost spills my drink. i didnt think much of it because he didnt seem to be in a good mood just as i wasnt but at least have some decency when it comes to your workplace. what made the situation even worse was that after all this time had went by my food was horrible. he was wearing a gray nike hoodie with black slacks and some offbrand sketchers. read more

Deserves 0 stars. The worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I never place complaints as no company is perfect, and every business is going to make occasional mistakes when working with customers, but this location has hit a all time low. I give grace in expecting longer wait times due to most industries being short staffed, but I GRACIOUSLY waited in the drive through for 30 minutes only to be refused service when it was my turn to order. I was told by the employee that she refused to take my order and was only fulfilling Door-Dash orders. She followed the statement up with saying there were only 2 employees working. I'm not sure a chain restaurant is even legally allowed to be open with that amount of staff. I watched 10+ vehicles have to drive away after waiting absurd wait time due to being told their staff refused to serve us. I typically drive UberEats on the weekend and both times I've picked up orders from this location was horrific. The first time, the wait time was ridiculous. The second time, they told me that because the customer ordered ice cream their order did not go through on their system and that the customer would need to cancel their order. Hello Friends, For what its worth, this is a nice easy date spot, as it takes you back in time to the good ol days. I do remember at one point in time the car hops were on roller skates. Now days, either not so much, or the guys were "too cool" for skates. Opting for their own pair of Nike's. I do love the menu. Believe it or not, this is only my second time trying this type of place out. It's like the old Town & Country (Wilkingson Blvd) or 21 South. I wish I could give 0 stars like most of the other people who have left a review. I placed an order on the app and when we got there everyone was extremely rude. We pulled into a stall and I checked in on the app but it said there was an issue and to press the red button. We pressed the red button and someone said we're doing drive thru only and immediately disconnected before we could respond. We got to the drive thru and they proceeded to tell us they basically couldn't make anything but burgers and drinks because their fryers and ice cream machines were down. We had plenty of fried foods and shakes in our order so we asked if we could get a refund because we had placed an order on line. Then they told us they had our food. So clearly they were able to fry foods and make shakes, so I'm not sure why they were telling people coming through the drive thru that they couldn't. Someone came out after a while and asked if we had an online order and we said yes. They finally came out with our food and the runner rudely told us next time not to leave the stall. We tried to explain the people at the stall told us to go through the drive thru and pull ahead to wait for the food but she cut us off and said she had went all the way to the stall when we were on the other side. Clearly communication needs to be improved within the store because we did what we were told and yet an employee got angry and was rude to us for doing what her co worker said to do. Stopped to try indoor dining. Here is how it seems to work. You come in. Try to find a menu if u need one. I see only 2 here. One on top of trash can, below the cleaning bucket. Before heading out to our normal Charlotte dessert spot, I asked my sister in law to stop by the closes Sonic to grab a quick bite. When I saw this location off of the highway we decided to stop here. It is kind of hard to figure out which way to get into this location but we finally made our way in. After parking, we noticed you could come on side and sit at this location. Having never see this before at a sonic location, we decided to go in and eat inside. The phones need a little updating and the tables could have been cleaned a little better but it's pretty cool for a sonic. You can pick the phone up at any table and place your order. After the normal 3-5 minute wait time our food finally came out. The food was hot and fresh and tasted on point. There were also tvs inside with two different channels going. However, my tots were just warm, so I didn't finish them and if you've every had cold or lukewarm fries you know what I mean when I say...ugh Overall, I would give them another chance, I mean it was happy hour! I just experienced possibly the worst customer service I've ever had. After spending a day at Carowinds, my family and I used the sonic app to order a late dinner. Spent almost $50, as we hadn't eaten since the afternoon. We arrived at Sonic and followed the instructions to alert staff we were in a stall waiting. Two minutes later, an older "gentleman" walked out with a receipt in his hand. He stated that due to short staffing, they had closed early, and our order had "just" popped up on their screen. He went out of his way to say that he had nothing to do with the app, and because of this, we would have to call and get a refund. I know this isn't true because when you search for locations on the app, other sonic restaurants show that mobile ordering is unavailable. So I'm guessing he just forgot to turn off the feature at this location, then made up an excuse to escape responsibility and accountability. He never apologized as a representative of sonic. He never offered any solution or consolation. He was flat in his tone and almost condescending. He had the worst attitude and demeanor of anyone I've ever encountered in the service industry. I could tell he'd had a rough day, but that is no reason to treat paying customers so poorly. I asked him to write on the receipt that we didn't receive our order so that I wouldn't have an issue getting a refund. He literally said "no, I don't write on receipts". I asked him his name, and he said "manager" as he walked away. My wife called after him because he still had the receipt in his hand, and he yelled that he was done with us and that he'd told us he couldn't help.
