Driving through Deming? Don't stop here. I would like to see the economy of Deming succeed. But they need to do something about this Sonic. Normally, I would not review fast food but this Sonic earns the special award of deserving a review. This is the second time it has taken over a half hour to receive my food. If you are in a hurry or don't have the time to sit at Sonic for a half hour don't stop here. (The second time this happened they refunded my money - but I would have preferred to have received what I paid for in a timely manner and been able to go on my way). (Further, this is not due to COVID - staffing issues - because this is the second time I have experienced this at this location. The first time was pre-COVID. My husband and I sat waiting for 10-15 minutes after pushing the red button several times, and were never addressed. Won't return to this location. Absolute disaster of a location. The burger came out wrong (of course), the lettuce was brown and moldy, the meat ice cold, and the bun was soggy. They forgot my fries and refused to replace the cheddar pepper order that fell on the ground after the wind blew my bag off of the table while I was digging through my wallet to hand attendant my cc. Rude, inconsiderate staff that are terrible human beings. Save your money, go elsewhere and hopefully this disaster closes down and these people end up on the street. read more

Driving ordering machines. Almost half of them are all broken, When you press the button on the ones that do work, the person that will take your order wait time is 15 minutes or longer. I've waited as long as 35 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. The place is a mess. It's falling apart. Even the drive-thru is a long wait. The morning to midday service sucks. The workers there except for one young man are terrible. Complaints of corporate about the mess/machines/ employees and nothing has been done. I've waited there for a simple Coke and instead took my service to McDonald's because it's just so much faster. We waited 5 min in one stall, they wouldn't answer so we moved to another one. They didn't answer that one either. Decided to use the drive thru. There was one car ahead of us, so they weren't busy. If you're looking for a quick on-the-go meal, don't bother using this drive in - they won't answer, even with only one car in the drive-through window. The wait for the food was excessively long. This is my first horrible Sonic experience, and I won't use this one again on my weekly travel to Deming. From now on, it's definitely McDonald's. read more

Passing through and thought Sonic would be a safe quick bet. Kids are screaming in the car and we need to pick up some grub and head to a park to let them run around before our 5 hour drive home. Cue us sitting in the car for THIRTY minutes waiting for one hot dog, one hamburger, and one chicken sandwich. The parked stall kiosks didn't work. We went in the drive though after waiting 5 minutes for the kiosk to not work. The drive through was a fiasco too. Food was fine but the wait was super ridiculous. read more

First they get our order wrong then they "fix it" then they're rude about us stating our fries and mozzarella sticks are cold they are super rude then manager has a worse attitude than employee.... I guess small towns don't have manners.... SUPER RUDE AND SERVICE SUCKS!!! Day nine of our road trip to San Diego, stop 1. Our last day of driving, thank God. The last nine hours of nonstop road, books on tape, and stupid driving games and we'd arrive at our new hometown, San Diego. First however, we have stops along the way. We haven't chronicled but one of the gas stations, as most are not of any special note. But we've stayed true in telling of all the food and retail experiences along the way. We missed one Starbucks, but I'm not gonna review every Starbucks I visit. Anyway, lunchtime has passed by an hour or more and Sarah's tummy is grumbling. As boys do, I ask her what she's in the mood for, but not expecting the answer I got... "Sonic," she says. "Sonic," I ask, "really?" "Yup." Now she knows that I've never had a Sonic in my life. In fact, Grand Rapids, Michigan... the very hometown we just left only got Sonic just a few months ago. Get this, there was a line to get Sonic that stretched for miles an took four hours to get through. What on earth?! I didn't get the hype. As far as I was concerned, I had every fast food chain I gave a hoot about within five minutes of my house. No need to go a half an hour to wait four more hours to eat fast food. Ick. Eeeew. Well, the day I was to try Sonic finally arrived. I guess it's something I couldn't avoid. And believe me, spending 1/3 of my childhood summers in the south, it wasn't an easy task. We pulled into the drive-in and I just stared at the menu, not so much in shock as in confusion. In my rearview I saw a girl slide by on skates, and I smiled. After figuring out how to operate the whole menu/ordering deal, I went with the Green Chile Burger with Tots and a Diet Coke. Sarah had the Chicken Sandwich, Grilled, Tots, and a Diet Dr. Pepper. The results, in my opinion... poor. Sonic is a new addition to the fast food list I've got going now, and goes straight to the bottom. Any suggestions on how I might change my mind are welcome. Tip: if at this particular location, look out for the stray dog. Smart dog at that, as a Sonic Drive-in would be a perfect spot to score food whenever the craving came along. We ordered ahead on the app to have our order ready to go... we had 3 drinks. We recieved our order 30 minutes after we checked in and with no ice. It's 90 degrees outside so I go and ask for ice and was given a child's cup with ice and told the manager said I couldn't have more because we used the sonic app to preorder. Tots were way over cooked and the grease left a horrible residue in the throat. Brioche breakfast sandwich eggs were black from what I imagine was a filthy griddle. Didn't even eat the sandwich. Tried to call the store to let them know the food was really bad and no one answered. read more

i haven't been to Sonic in who knows how long. gives me a lot of nostalgia. food was really good, i ordered the 5 piece crispy tenders. enough breading and juiciness of the chicken, and the strips were a good size to fill me up. but the communication while ordering food was poor. i really don't blame the employees, i think the ordering boxes are just really outdaded. my family had to get out of the car and order from the order boxes outside. fortunately the food came out quick and they got everything correct. thank you :) read more

I wasnt at all impressed with the food. My sons chicken was really tough to where I needed to remove the breaded area and try to get him to eat the meat. I ordered the chicken sandwhich and there was no mayo or any sauce. It was ok. I was really expecting it to be better but was disappointed. read more

Undoubtedly, unequivocally THE worst Sonic Drive In in the world. And I've been to many. Almost 6 months ago I got salmonella poisoning from a burger there, and a few months before that rotten tasting beef on a burger. So why not give them a 3rd try? I went today (3/7/20) at about 3:30PM on a beautiful 75 degree afternoon to try the new chocolate waffle cone. Only 2 cars in the stalls (a bad sign) - I pulled into #4 and pressed the red order button. No answer. I pressed it again. No answer. I pressed it a 3rd time - still no answer. Sooo, I backed up and went to their drive-thru. An attendant came on and said "Can I help you?" (no "welcome to Sonic like at other Sonic Drive Ins). I said I'd like to order the new chocolate waffle cone - the attendant snapped back "we're out of the reeses pieces and cones". Then... I remembered where I was: Deming, NM. Sonic Drive In. We ordered two Banana Split Blasts. The ice cream was totally melted. I found one piece of very brown banana in the bottom, a tinge of pink to represent cherry, absolutely no pineapple and a full 1/2 cup of whipped cream - YUK. Worst ice cream treat ever. AND they cost us $10!! read more

The longest wait times at any sonic I have ever visited. Took 15 min in drive thru lane to get one drink. On a different visit, it also took 15 min to receive my order while at the drive in. Card readers were also broken, so could not pay until carhop came to vehicle. read more
