1st trip to a Sonic for us as we had been brainwashed by the number of commercials my family had seen on tv and had to try it. My main complaint would be the narrow size of the pull-in parking paces. We drive a full-size SUV and I was surprised at how tight they make them. (Nothing like a good 3-point turn, maybe more with inches to spare to get your appetite going!) The shakes, cheese curds & onion rings we ordered were fine and my kids seem to enjoy the experience and opportunity to cross it off their list. read more

Service is consistently slow every time I visit. Tonight I waited 17 minutes after paying in drive thru. Nobody was in front of me and I cannot understand why it took so long for a few coneys and tots. Plus they forgot the onion rings that I paid for. read more

Ok it's Sonic. Happy hour (after 8pm) has half off drinks/shakes. I like a good value and have frequented here many of times over the years. Their burgers/hotdogs are below average. I do enjoy the mozzarella sticks and shakes. Downside, the wait in the drive thru is ridiculous. I stopped by at 8:45pm for a shake and moz sticks. It literally took 32 minutes to receive my order and this through the drive thru. There were only 5 cars ahead of me. Cmon Sonic, hire more people, figure things out to speed up your process. Like so many others, I've had more than one bad experience at this location, with slow service and not-that-great of food. Onion rings that were soggy rather than crispy. Sandwiches that weren't hot. There are many better places to eat than this. I've been seriously disappointed. read more

The worst service! Spent $40 on dinner and waited more than 20 minutes for our food and then we were missing one of our burgers and another one was not not made the way we ordered. When we found out that they had a Sonic's,We all broke out of the house, But the food wasn't a good as we expected it to be,I ordered a chicken sandwich and when I took off the wrapper the buns were so soggy that the whole thing fell apart and spilled all over my $190 outfit,the hot dogs were unusually pink(probs made of "pink slime")the peeps who deliver the food are usually high school drop-outs that mess up their orders as much as there are chicks fighting on "Real Housewives",I could've gone to Culver's and had a MUCH better meal...but u gotta luv the cherry-lime thingiez Just sayin' O_O read more

It is a must stop on the way up north, the car hop service takes way too long, so I usually go through the drive thru then we will park in the car hop parking to eat and use the bathroom. I just wish the bathroom was cleaned once in awhile, it is basically like one step above a porta potty. It is good food and drinks for a good price and a convenient place to stop. read more

SLOWWWEST fast food place around the area. When it first opened I used to drive here from Rogers to get a Vanilla DC. Now I come rarely because the service at drive thru is so slow! It's rare to pull, in order food and actually get everything we ordered. Either the food delivered isn't what asked for, they forgot the sauces, or the drinks are mixed wrong. Happy hour is the only redeeming quality, who can argue with half priced drinks. read more

We have been here about three times and this was definitely our last. All three times it took wayyyy too long. Today we ordered three ice creams and it took over 20 minuets and there were only two other cars there. Plus the machine wouldn't work to take my card so it took even longer because they had to go do it inside. And the real kicker is the ice cream was horrible! The other two times the food wasn't bad but when we got our ice cream today we ended up throwing it in the trash because it was gritty, left a film in your mouth, and just tasted gross. Used to be our family's favorite snack and shake stop.... no more. As the only customer in the parking lot at 7:30pm, I waited 17 minutes for a 9 inch "foot long" chili cheese coney and tots, during which time I could see no one in the facility that would have allowed me to request a refund so I could go elsewhere. Told that the wait was to make sure I got hot food, nothing could be further from the truth. No chili, onions thrown at the box apparently and the hot dog was dry and rubbery. The bun was much shorter than the dog and the tots were cold and also thrown into the box containing the mess of a meal. I had to fast Monday for an afternoon doctors appointment and was REALLY looking forward to this meal. After retiring to bed at 11:00pm I was woken by severe stomach pain and explosive diarrhea which turned into vomiting and zero sleep. Never again.... It is a shame to see this happen to Sonic. And these kids want $15 an hour! read more

I have come here about 5 times since it has been built and it is terrible! The wait is atrocious for food and they never get the order right. Last week I ordered a chicken meal with French fries and a slushy with honey mustard dressing, along with mozzarella sticks with marinara. I received no french fries and only ranch dressing. Because I did not get a receipt, they did not honor the mistake. Would not recommend ever!!! Def needs new management and staff. read more

Went through the drive through - ordered 2 combo meals, one with a shake. Was told that their "base" was too runny and that the spindle on their shake machine was loose. So they couldn't do any ice cream. What??? This is one of the hallmarks of your company and you aren't offering any ice cream/shake options?!?!? The burger bun was wet, food was cold. :( Drove off with our order, and my passenger picked up his soft drink - the cup they gave us had a hole in it. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo and a hot dog combo. The hamburger was incredibly salty (no idea WHY a burger needs to be salted nearly to the point of being inedible). The hot dog was an unearthly shade of bright pink (much like ammonia processed meats) and the shredded cheddar cheese was obviously a canned casein based sauce. Why they couldn't serve an all beef hot dog is a mystery. Tater tots were lukewarm. Considering it was lunch time there was only a handful of cars and non existent drive through traffic. As someone else posted, Culvers is much much better. We should've gone there. read more

We are from the south where Sonics are much more common. They are usually busy and active with car hops going every direction as they deliver food. The Elk River Sonic is not that! We used to go here regulary when it first opened. Lately, the service is slow and the food is horribly prepared. Ill try to post a picture of the cheese coney I got the other day. Pic says it all. I do not recommend this location. Im sure someone has a fortune invested in the success of this franchise location. I'll never understand why they allow it to go down the tubes like this. read more
