All this hype and I had to check it out myself - result was OK. It was really just another gimmicky fast-food place. My burger was ok - tasted much the same as other fast food burgers. I didn't like the tater-tots at all, but the fries were good (average). Hubby's burger was also ok but nothing special. What we did like VERY much were the cherry-limeades. They were really good - tasted of fresh limes and maraschino cherry juice, probably mixed with lemon-lime soda (or possibly seltzer water). Well, all the doors are marked "Employees Only" -- there is no "inside eating" -- you order from your car, pay with credit card at the outdoor station, and a server on roller skates brings your meal. However, I really came by to sample the milkshakes, which had gathered some good reviews. I was disappointed. I had a chocolate shake, and nothing was wrong with it, but it truly was a fast food-quality milkshake. Don't expect miracles here. My wife had the Sonic Blast ice cream, which is vanilla ice cream with your choice of add-ons: she had Reeses and Snickers combined. The ice cream itself is quite bland, the ground-up candy is the only thing it has going for it -- she didn't finish it. Three stars for novelty and good burgers for the price. First time at a Sonic since there aren't any Sonics remotely close to the San Francisco Bay Area. Drive-up diner offers an experience that is unmatched by any fast food restaurant. Order at any one of their booths and pay right on the spot. Then a waiter will come out to your car and deliver the food straight to your window. They even have people cleaning outside on ROLLERBLADES, pretty cool if you ask me. I ordered the double cheese burger, medium tots, and a medium drink. As far as the food goes, the in-n-out burgers taste better and the medium tots don't have enough flavor. For those that don't want to stay in their cars, they offer an outdoor seating area. Sunday monday, happy days! Very old school feeling pit stop. The menu is vast with pretzeled hotdogs, shakes, floats, burgers, fries, tator tots, etc. After little debate I ordered a classic single patty cheeseburger with french fries. After sharing some of my friends tator tots I've learned my lesson. Skip the fries and go for the tators! My burger was decent. I wish this spot had an indoor seating location. It was a tad cold to be eating at the picnic tables outside but we did because we didn't want to eat in our cars anymore. (Roadtrip) Overall this was a very satisfying stop. All I got here was one of the real fruit famous slushes, and it was good! I mean, it tasted like a regular slushie from anywhere else but maybe a little less artificial, and the real strawberry chunks in mine were a nice touch. I currently live In a place with no Sonic so I had to stop by when I drove by. I love the cherry vanilla limeade I always get. My bf got the popcorn chicken and onion rings while I got the cheese pretzel hot dog with grilled onions. Popcorn chicken is so-so. The onion rings are crispy and sweet, yum. I was really excite that I didn't have to drive all the way to Tracey to get a Sonic experience, however I wasn't aware that I would be visiting the first weekend this place was open. Needless to say, it was a madhouse and I think some of the bugs still need to be worked out. Just getting to the place was a challenge with a line developing just outside of the parking lot as people were directed to either the drive-in, park and eat or walk up service. We chose walk up which appeared to be the fastest. I would have to say, that given the number of people eating there service was relatively quick. The first bug occurred with the ordering process with the order taker not being able to fully hear our order. We got most of what we wanted which included 2 burgers, tater tots with chili and drinks. The order arrived at our table via rollerskating waitress and shortly after arrived the condiment basket with napkins, straws, ketchup and salt. A quick snap of a few pictures and we dug into the food. I had a Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster while the wife opted for the Sonic Burger (that's right, no cheese). We were to have chili on both sets of tater tots that came with our combos but it only came on one (second bug). This, however turned out for the best since it was nice to have some with chili and some without. My burger, I have to say, was cold which I attribute to the crowd and the amount of turn over that they were dealing with. Either way, a hot burger would have improved my experience and rating. In all the food was decent but nothing that I would want to go out of my way for. It's 8:12 P.M. on a Sunday night as I pull into stall #22. My stomach growls with the force of 12 Lithuanian children, I peak my head out of the window to take a better look at the menu. A few minutes later a car that pulled up to the stall next to us a few minutes after us was greeted with a message from the inside through their speaker, I hear something along the lines of "closed" and "stalls" but I naively assume it was just that stall and they immediately pull out after. Me, on the other hand, am at a stasis in waiting in my stall. 8:30 P.M., finally a voice cracks through the speakers. "We're sorry but stalls 13 through 24 are closed, the only ones available are stalls 1 through 12 or the drive thru. H a v e a n i c e d a y." Immediate regret hits me harder than a lineman with CTE. How could they have possibly informed the drivers in the stall next to us before us? Still want dat slush tho~ By this time it's established that the customer service is inefficient, and lacking time management skills, especially as I see the drive thru line up with cars, I was beginning to think I pulled up to a car show, something is obviously wrong. About halfway through the new Ariana Grande album they deliver my food, straight from the manager apologizing for the wait. The real kicker is that this was at 9:14 P.M.! Almost an entire hour later for mediocre food. The cheeseburger was probably the worst, soggy, flavorless patty, marinated with shame. The corndog was alright because who can mess up a corndog? The chili cheese fries had the right amount of cheese and chili but if you're looking for something with an explosion of flavors, this isn't it. The wings came drenched in sauce so much so that we were forced to blot them like a slice of pizza or a newborn babies face. The wings themselves were almost sponge like with no great texture. The Blueberry Slush tasted as if they put, from a dropper, a drop of blueberry syrup as when I looked into the cup it was nothing like in the advertised picture but rather the color of a light blue sky painted by Bob Ross. You can assume the slush tasted mostly like water, unfortunately. I've heard that Sonic are well-known for their variety of frozen drinks and "Add-ons" but what's good about Nerds candy submerged in all ice, with almost no flavor? You don't need a bachelors degree to know the answer to that. Short version: The food is not appetizing or flavorful, the customer service lacks any sort of service except for roller skating to your window after an hour from the moment you park, the Slush's are 99% crushed ice with little flavoring syrup added, and I also give Ariana Grande's new album a 7/10. Also I've had Yelp for a very long while, been to bad places despite some reviews I've read, but this is the first time I feel inclined to actually write a review because it was such a terrible experience.
