DREADFUL. Please avoid at all costs. Pull up and you cannot here them from all the cars whizzing by. Its impossible to hear them in drive through. We drive up to window and order. After a back and forth try then tell us cash only ? HUH? There is no signs of anything anywhere. They have all the logos of all credit card companies still posted. Something sounds really off. Sonic is a great refreshment spot. They have a variety of delicious drink combinations. This review is intended to improve some tweaks for customer service. A good colleague of mine had been fasting soda due to certain effects that it has on his body but just a few days ago, he was given a free Cherry Limeade coupon. It didn't say that it had any type of soda inside of the beverage, when you hear "Cherry Limeade" you think of a cherry flavor mixed with limeade right? I would just like to ask if maybe their could be an arrangement made to where we know what it is that we are drinking. This Sonic is creating a ton of really angry drivers. First of all, I've been sitting here for over 30 minutes. I'm in the middle of moving so I figured Sonic would be the place to go, quick, I can eat in my car instead of a place with no furniture or surrounded by boxes and clutter. Wrong. I ordered something reealllly simple. Grilled medium #9 with tots and diet green tea. The girl asked me a couple times about the tea. Waiting 20 min, the food comes out. It's 90 degrees outside mind you. I've been getting a real work out lugging all my boxes. There are over 10 cars in the lot and there is 1 girl on roller blades. I do not think that this is ethical and has to be an HR violation. She repeats my order and hands it to me. She said it right, but it is wrrronnng. There are fries instead of tots. And my diet green tea is so so sweet and brownish. I'm thinking they gave me the sweet tea instead, not even the sweet green. I push the button. I say my order is wrong. They say they will bring it out. As I wait and wait, I hear the guy to my right say that his order is wrong too. The plain hamburger that he ordered 3 times and then once again correcting them was wrong. Somehow he was able to get his refund and burger and has already left. He was mad. The guy to my left has already beeped at a waitress asking her what was up and has been doing a lot of hand waving and gesturing. I press the button after 10 more min. I say I don't want to wait anymore, please just refund me the combo price and I'll pay for the sandwich. I have been waiting 10 min. since then! It has now been over 40 min. The guy to the left of me has just backed out. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr People leave here and get right back on 17. If you want food, go somewhere else, here at Sonic, all you'll get is road rage to go. I like the commercials..... Not being a fast food foodie I decided to have a Sonic experience. For the longest time every time you passed this place the line was holding up traffic...must be sumpthin. Very strange experience...somebody skates up to your car, you order they skate away then come back (skating of course) with your food. To watch that was worth the price of the burger alone. The burger...I didn't like the texture of the burger not to mention it didn't taste good. I threw it out....the fries were fast food fries nothing special just like you get any where. Hot Dog...baloney...that's what it tasted like again not very good. So to sum up my Sonic review let me say...... I like the commercials. read more

How long were we taunted with those commercials without an actual storefront in the tri-state area? When this location opened the traffic on route 17 was backed up with a lot of cars in the right lane. Thank goodness the hype is over and traffic patterns are back to normal... Sonic presents a classic drive-in diner feel and inexpensive fast food is delivered to your vehicle thanks to rollerskating fools. It's not gourmet deliciousness but it's decent. While the burgers are not as good as shake-shack/five guys/in-n-out/yadda yadda yadda, I'm a sucker for tater tots. The milkshakes are addictive... they almost ameliorate the pain of a Jets loss. A legit Sonics in North Jersey! Well lets face it, if u know what Sonics is and u want it, then go. This place is new and clean, read no further. New to Sonics? Remember the Intro to The Flinstones when Fred pulls up to a drive thru diner, places his order on a phone, hangs up and a girl on skates brings a giant rack of dino-ribs, clips it to the Flintstone-mobile and it tips over? Well Sonics is like that minus the tipping over and the ribs. Haha Menu: It's ur typical all-american suburban burger joint with Burgers, Fries, hotdogs, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, shakes, slushies and soda. The shakes and slushies are what sonics is known for, so make sure u order that or else u completely miss the point of coming! ~Edit: Traffic here during lunch is horrible. There's an employee turning people away because the lot is full and a Police car enforcing the no stopping policy on Rt 17. So if you're going to Sonics, go during an off peak hour. read more

The good: Burgers taste great! Yes it's my opinion, but the meat really does taste fresh. You have the choice of fries or tater tots with your order. Lots of parking spaces when ordering from the dine-in section and nothing but helpful staff when ordering your food. The bad: First off, can someone explain to me what the drive-in section is all about? I understand that you and a group of friends can order food and eat it in your car here, but why? There is nothing there? It's not like it's a drive in theater where you can watch a movie? Everyone complains of the small writing. I didn't notice, but if a few people have mentioned it, it must be true. Here's the one thing that annoys the hell out of me. The entrance is very easy to miss. If you're going even a little fast, you'll miss it. The entrance signs seems to pop out at the last second. Other than that... everyone should try this place out. read more

No more foot long hotdogs, My wife stopped at the location in Corsicana, Tx and picked up a couple foot longs and brought them home and as soon as i tried to cut through it with the included plastic i knew something was wrong. thought it was old and overcooked so i took them back and the manager made them fresh and still they were like rubber, he apologized and offered a refund or substitute. he informed me it was a new style dog supplied by Sonic. choose burgers which were good but wonder why they would replace a good selling item with a mystery meat wiener and exactly what did i eat in the 2 bites i managed to swallow. guess i will go to the convenience store and get a real hot dog from the roller grill. read more

i was supposed to go the park and walk a few laps as part of my recovery and the weather did not fuck my plans up the ass without lube, so i was not mega bitch pissed off. (i went straight to the park after eating because I needed to burn the 20,000 calories I just ingested) i needed to make myself feel better somehow. so i guilt tripped myself in to taking myself to sonic. (not really but you get the idea) driving in NJ sucks. the line to get a spot at the drive-thru/parking space was not atrocious. I think there were only 5 cars, including myself. but: my tater tots were bangin. my chicken club on Texas toast was bangin. my Hi-C fruit punch was bangin. and my carhop, Katrina, was bangin. (I gave her a $2.00 tip just for bringing food over - she nice american girl) i doubt i'll return (this week) to be honest, since it's almost a 30 minute drive. Here in JC we don't have anything great so i'd pick sonic over other fast food. 4.0 stars- a bonus 1/2 a star for the primo guido in their Mustangs sightings. Just had our first Sonic, stop in and eat, experience (we went to a drive through off Route 80 a couple of weeks ago). The whole point of the place is the novelty of the grumpy kids on skates serving you food in blast from the past car stalls. We asked our grumpy kid if we could pay by credit card b/c the machine by our stall was broken (already? didn't this place just open?) He replied "Yeah... but you can't put a tip on it." Haha, we got a good laugh out of the kid plugging for himself. The food was greasy although my reeses sonic blast wasn't bad (think blizzard). The best part was finally saying we've "been there" after watching the commercials for the past 4 years (good ad campaign/strategy, Sonic.) We'll go back for some late, late night grub. Route 80 sonic is a 24 hr place. Worst part about this place though: the rent-a-cops. You're working crowd control at a Sonic dude, we know your life sucks but try not to be such an a**. read more

There is nothing better than a cherry limeade.. there just isn't! I even love the little circle ice cubes. What I don't love is going through a drive thru after spending $20 on food to go home and realize they never gave you the chicken fingers for your combo meal. Ugh that really sucked because we didn't want to drive all the way back to sonic not to mention all I ordered was that combo meal (I was left with a soda and fries) so I called the store and explained what happened to the manager who apologized for the mishap. He asked me if I wanted to come back and grab the chicken fingers but I explained to him we had already arrived home and he gave me the option of sending me a coupon in the mail for a free combo meal or to come back. No frills no thrills. Here are some go to picks: Cherry Limeade, Strawberry Limeade. ALWAYS get the chili cheese tater tots. This is easily my favorite thing on their menu! I tried the Coney Dog and the fried onions provided a really nice texture to the juicy hot dog but overall it was packed with wayyyy too much sodium from the hot dog itself. read more

I always loved sonic, always ate it when I lived in socal. it's also the closest location to me and I stop by here after the metlife stadium flea market. my only pet peeves are the ordering system via drive thru. the board is too far away so I can't read what's on the menu and the speaker is deaf, so I'm always yelling my questions and orders. the fast and tricky corner to pull into this location is a massive pain as well. I adore their berry waffle ice cream and all their dogs, especially their new pretzel dog. add mustard and relish. bam. read more

This place has really gone down. I used to enjoy the food, but now it's just not good. I recently ordered an Oreo shake and what they gave me was about 25% shake and 75% whipped cream... Disgusting! It was a hot summer day and I was with a group of 10, so there's a very valid reason. If you like deep fried cheesecake nuggets with caramel dipping sauce, you should be at sonic. In my opinion, Sonic is a little bit over rated for a fast food restaurant. The location is very inconvenient. My friend and I have tried to come here 3 times. The first two attempts were met with heavy traffic jams and the police denying us entry into the lot because it was full! Lame! We finally managed to get in on our third try by going at 11 and only had to wait 5 minutes before being able to drive up to one of ordering parking spaces. The food here is good for fast food but it is still fast food. I liked the option of having tater tots instead of french fries. I got the Sonic version of a chicken club sandwich. I was pleased even though my sandwich had a little too much sauce. I've also had the double cheeseburger at a PA Sonic which was good but nothing I haven't seen before. I only regret not getting on of there slushes or speciality drinks which I will get net time should I go because I have good things about them. Aside from the novelty of having people bring your food to your car on roller blades, I do not see Sonic as somewhere I should make an extra attempt to visit, especially with the ridiculousness of the lot always being full. read more

Thought I'd try Sonic as I have never been here and wanted something fast and in my car. Food was not good. Looked and tasted like reheated in a microwave. Even my diet coke didn't taste right. Card reader on menu board doesn't work so had to give carhop my credit card to go inside and run it. Just had fraud on my last card so very uncomfortable with this. So I drove out to Jersey for Sonic...yeah I did it. And for some reason I remember it being better than what it really was. You go up into the drive in, place the order through a machine and a girl in roller skates comes out with your order. The machine can take a credit card or you pay the girl in cash, whichever you prefer. I ordered a single burger with the works (bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle), but why do they put mayo, ketchup and mustard on their burgers?!?!?!?! I'm completely grossed out by mustard so I had to send the poor girl on her roller skates go back for a new burger. The burger was okay. But I have to say I do love the touch with the tater tots with chili cheese on it! I wish more fast food places offered tater tots. They are amazing. My strawberry milk shake was so thick I felt like if I sucked on my straw any harder, my face was going to to go right through it. But it was delicious and thanks for the face muscle exercises. Overall, Sonic is pretty good but I don't think I'll take a drive out to Jersey and pay a toll for this burger. Luckily, we didn't sit in traffic because my friend new the side roads so A+ there. My husband and I went to the East Sonic in Garden City, KS last night. I ordered a #5 meal. I wanted the steak sandwich on a bun instead of the toast. She asked will that be all, instead of asking fries or tots. My husband said she wants tots, she asked what size. He said small, not realizing that it's a medium with the meal. Then he said she wants a Sprite Zero with Cranberry. She again asked what size. I'm frustrated and said whatever comes with the meal. He then ordered a double bacon cheese. Just the sandwich. On the screen the order was all individual. It was over $16. After my husband paid with his card, I realized that was way too much. When kid brought meal we told him she charged wrong. He went in and checked and came back to tell us since we ordered a small tots it had to be all individual. I ordered a meal. She should've never asked what size. I ordered the meal! Kid came back and gave us some change, but it should've been a couple dollars! They adjusted fries, but charged for drink! Very tired of people wanting more and more money for poorer service!!
