Any sonic I give a shot always sucks when it comes to timing, not sure if they are short staffed or what. I ordered a pickup order at 10:55pm after work came around 11:15 pm because it said ready. I checked in it said someone was coming out with my food 15 minutes later order says done nobody came out with my food, I pressed the red button and the guy said sorry pickup orders just wait so I went in line at the drive through. I really should have just drove off but I'm hungry and tired and there's not many options by my work late night that I like. After this though last time I'm going to sonic! So sorry to give a 1 star review, but I had no other place to report this unfortunate incident. I ordered 1 root beer float and 2 Oreo sonic blasts. I paid and was handed a root beer float and 1 oreo blast. I explained I paid for 2 and was told I didn't. He then found the extra blast and said oh here it is. No biggie. Then asked what I was still there for and I said I needed my card back. He said he gave it back to me, and he didn't. He then blamed me and said I misplaced it and I was lying. I never leave bad reviews, in fact, I refrain from them until today really, due to the horrible service me AND my friend experienced. I'll lay out everything that happened. Me and my gf were in an uber, (it's our first time in Houston) & we were able to add a stop to sonic drive thru before our destination to our air bnb. Our uber driver was kind & let us add the sonic stop. We get to the drive thru & I let them know it's going to be TWO separate orders. The lady replies " okay ". I tell her my order for my first order- a sausage burrito, and a cold brew coffee. For my friends order (second order) she tells them " I'm ordering off the app because I have coupons from sonic for the tater tots , but I would like to order the Bacon burrito & French toast sticks " the lady stops responding at the drive thru so we're like " okay? I guess we'll drive up and pay? She hasn't really confirmed our order?" So we drive up to the pay window & that's where things got bad. They claimed that WE messed up our orders & that they had to cancel BOTH of our orders because my friend was ordering from the app? Why??? If we mentioned it was TWO separate orders MULTIPLE times. They eventually close the window on us & we're waiting at the window for about 15 minutes ... we're like uhh??? What? Cars are packing behind us & we're feeling the pressure but truly, we did nothing wrong. Eventually the workers come back to the window and refund me for my order (not sure why) their whole place seems a mess. Then they asked to charge me AGAIN. (Again, doesn't make sense & seems very unorganized) ..... so many more words were exchanged that didn't make sense on their end. they asked us to pull to the side and wait for my girl friends order & we refused! We've been waiting at this window for 10+ mins & we're in an uber! Why do we have to pull over and WAIT more??????? So we are telling them " no we are going to wait here, this is ridiculous " within 2 seconds they bring all our food out. Why tell us to wait if our food was ready? Were they doing something to our food out of pettiness because they messed up our orders on their system? They hand us our food & we SHOULDVE checked our bags then and there but we felt bad for the other drivers behind us & we thanked sonic & pulled off. I take a sip of the cold brew I ordered and I swear on everything I love, it was NOT coffee. It tasted like syrup water? Even the color of it looked clear? I was pissed. My friend looks in her bag and they gave her a SAUSAGE burrito when she asked for BACON multiple times, they also "FORGOT" her French toast sticks...... Fast food in Houston, Texas... My friend, Lisa, had never been to a Sonic. One of her friends told her about it, so... We went! I drove up to one of the covered parking stalls, ordered through the speaker, and paid right there - from my car. There's no need to go into the restaurant! I believe that in the past, the orders were delivered to the cars by workers on roller skates. Today, a friendly gal brought our packaged meal to us. I got the #1 Combo. It included tater tots, a drink, and a cheeseburger. The burger had some lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and a mayo-based CRAVE sauce. I liked it! This is the worst sonic. It's so sad because it's the only one close to me and I love sonic! They refuse to fix their ice machine so you don't even get the classic sonic ice! This is the Sonic located on Washington in a fancy part of town, and it's usually really busy with a long line, especially right after SW which is Friday or Saturday night club time. Anyway it's definitely well worth you coming by and trying the fresh banana milkshake, but other than that I don't think they have too much good stuff. Sonic has clever marketing. They create a new mix of junk food desserts and advertise the hell out of them. This reels people in like fish. My dumb butt fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Their latest sugary gimmick: Oreo over-stuff pieces mixed with vanilla ice cream. It's really dumb when you think about it. They've been using regular Oreo pieces as ice cream toppings for years (and, it's a delicious idea). So, this time someone at Sonic's marketing division came up with the idea of Oreos with more cream to use instead of regular Oreos. So I pull into the drive thru. I would regret this later. You ever heard the saying, "my eyes were bigger than my stomach"? I do that a lot. Also, I forget that I'm mildly lactose intolerant. A girl with the personality of someone who busts open your car window at 4am on a Monday morning and rummages through your console, glove box, and under the seats only to find 32 cents in a change a shirt button, and half pack of gum while you sleep, takes my order. She was a b__ch. Anyways, I'm in a hurry with too much work to do. I got a #1 combo and a small Oreo over stuff, double stuff blizzard or whatever it's called. The burger is cold. I didn't realize this until I was 10 miles away. When I say "cold", I mean it was made yesterday and thrown into a fridge and given to me right out of the fridge. I'm sitting in the parking lot currently. Probably the worst and rudest sonic ive ever been too. Zane was the car hope who brought our food out. He brought me a flat Dr Pepper, it tasted like the machine was out of c02 so we called back in to let them know and order a tea instead. Zane came back out, didn't appologize and acted as if it was OUR fault this was an issue. Not to mention the chicken was not cooked. It took him 8 minutes to come back out with a sweet tea with no ice and watered down. I'm pretty sure he brought me an old drink in spite just to be rude. 100% pursuing this and contacting corporate. If I could leave them a quarter star I would. This place use to be great, but in the last year or so the food and service has fluctuations from good to bad. Today so far had been the worst. The hot dog and bun were cold. The bun wasn't even warm up, it was straight out of the bag. The hot dog was hard from not being keep at an appropriate temperature. The chill and the cheese on the hot dog were cold, and so were the tots and cheese. I don't think I can spend my hard earned money on food I could make at home a hell of a lot better. I've been here before and this level of neglect is unacceptable. Tonight, at 9:00pm on a Wednesday, I sat in the exterior drive-thru lane for a full TEN MINUTES with multiple cars behind me, while customers in the interior lane were being served promptly. I finally gave up on the drive-thru and tried to order at a kiosk, but that was even worse - I waited ANOTHER 15 MINUTES just to get a milkshake. The only "help" I received was a server who walked to my car, asked what I ordered, and then walked away to survey other vehicles. After a total of TWO HOURS of my time wasted, I finally gave up and decided to find dessert elsewhere. This Sonic location is a disgrace and needs to be shut down. read more
