When I came here to pick up food for the family, and after I was handed all my items, I had a feeling that this would probably be the last time we'd eat here. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad. I had a burger, my wife had chili cheese fries and onion rings, and we had a couple of shakes after. Let's start with the great part: their shakes. I don't think there are any better ones for that price. A true delight, creamy, cold, yet so tasty! If I do come here again, it'll be for the shakes only. The OK-part: the food. The food was good, yes. But it wasn't anything special, it wasn't this awesome taste that you really really crave all day and are willing to pay extra for. This was my first time at a Sonic. I've been waiting a long time to try it out but wasnt prepared to drive 50 miles to check it out...Im glad I did-it was awesome!!!! The taste of my Oreo Cheesecake master shake was subpar. At first sip, the Oreo cheesecake was overpowered by butter. It was so overwhelmingly buttery that Aunt Jemima would actually believe it's butter. To fix my predicament, I churned my shake hoping that the flavors would mix better. Unfortunately, that was not the butter decision. It margarine-ally improved the taste. The rest of my shake left me at quite a jam. It did not churn out the way I had hoped. read more

This place is flat out HORRENDOUS!!! I ordered a large combo last night and decided to try the new garlic butter Burger. There was not a single other customer at the store but they made me wait 25 min after I had already paid! The girl that took my money came back to the window after the 20 min had elapsed and tried to hand me a small drink and said ok have a good night. What the fuk??? WHERE IS MY FOOD??? I paid 11.00 and some change to wait all night for nothing!?!? I told her I didn't get my food and she disappeared again for about 5 min then showed up with a small fry , the burger and the Oreo s.... she handed me a free drink token and said ok have a good night....... a crappy drink token doesn't make up for the time it took sitting there and the food I got was cold . I'm a fairly new to the Sonic universe. We never had them growing up. That being said, when you are having a craving for some pretty decent fast food with a unique atmosphere, come here. I have lived in the Harveston area for about a year and this location is less than 5 minutes from home. The food is good, the slushees are bomb, you can't beat their ice (crushed), and the service has always been fast and attentive. I'm currently at this Sonic....Ive been here a few times only because my daughters like their cheese sticks. Overall the experience here is horrible. We come after they get out of school, and from the wait it seems as every other parent is doing the same thing. Based purely off the 6 times that I've been here around the same time every time...whoever is doing the scheduling for this time day is horrible. Why would you not have the majority of your employees here during this time (2:40-4:00pm)??? I understand that you can't predict the busy times, however it appears to be pretty consistent around theses times. Not only would scheduling help to keep wait times low, my orders would not get all jacked up. Every time. The good is good, but your service needs an EXTREME amount of improvement. I ordered at 3 meals at 2:56pm I'm at the window waiting for someone to give me fries instead of tots and it now 3:24???? Is this the best you guys can do?????? Have you ever bit into something that was tasted so salty, you worried about future health issues? well, I hadn't until tonight. Tonight will go down in history as the worst fast food experience I have ever had. When I say that, it's pretty serious. I've eaten Long John's and had food poisoning for two days and it was a better experience than this. Where do I begin? well, first the lady on the drive-thru intercom was laughing while taking our order (a lack of enough professionalism to put aside childish antics long enough to take an order is disrespectful to me). My wife and I ordered two chicken strip sandwiches, a DOUBLE cheese burger and a GRILLED cheese sandwhich. Well, the whole process to make the food was about 10 minutes. Sorry to sound nitpicky at this point, but this is a fast food place mind you. They apologized for the wait and we didn't complain because we figured, hey, it'll just be better! well...as the saying goes, it's always calm before the storm. After munching through our chicken sandwhiches, we reached in to grab our other two sandwhiches and noticed...there was only one. Okay, well they must have forgot one, right? upon inspection, the burger I had recieved only had one patty. That's why I put that would in bold above, it wasn't without reason y'know. So we drove through the empty drive thru to fix things. They took the burger back. That's right, they took it back. They gave us nothing but an apology for compensation. They handed us the fixed burger to us like a trade (which we didn't even know was the burger...) then went to make our grilled cheese. We waited. They gave us our food and we left. SInce it was late, we started eating on the drive home. That's when the magical bite came along. I bit into the "fixed" burger only to discover that the burger must have been marinated in some sort of salt-concoction of deathly proportions for a few days. I immediately gagged, spat the food out and complained to my wife who was having issues of her own. The grilled cheese sandwhich? yeah, they just melted some cheese inbetween two pieces of bread. Again, I only use bold for a reason. She didn't believe me when I told her how bad it tasted. So she took a bite and also gagged, spitting it out as well. You know, it's always good to have experiences like this though, so you learn a lesson. That lesson? well this place is just horrid, at least with the crew that was there tonight. From the good reviews I read about this place, I come to an assumption that they just have a different crew working for them and get better quality food. But I just can't find any redeeming aspects that warrant risking going back and experiencing this again. So my rating really only applies to Sonic's breakfast, as their burgers taste like the ones you buy at a gas station when you are driving really far and have no other options. I am not a fan of gas station food, but if you are then, by all means, eat their burgers! Back to what is good- the breakfast croissant sandwich (I prefer the sausage one) is unbelievable! The bread is so warm and fluffy and the egg, well it looks like a real egg (not like the eggs at some other popular fast food joints), and it is just plain awesome! The perfect hangover food (next to breakfast burritos). The tots are also delish and I have been known to have a late night craving for them here and there. I haven't really tried much else other than the chicken strip sandwich, but so glad there is finally one nearby since we have been tortured by Sonic commercials for years and I had no way of trying it. read more

Never been to a Sonic but seen plenty of their commercials which seemed cool, so...on a road trip, instead of trusty In-N-Out, we gave them a shot. The guy on the speaker was brain dead - frustratingly terrible to the point of tragic-comedy. The food came quickly - pre-made of course - and tasted okay in a standard kind of way (wait for it), but the lemon/limeade slushes tasted like chemicals which, for the pice, they didn't have to. Finally, three of the four of us had burgers, and those three of us felt nauseous that evening including my 12 year old son. Now, when a parent has to worry his kid, wife and him have E. Coli or something, then....no more Sonic for us... relegated to the garbage heap like Del Taco. In-N-Out is more wholesome, tastier, has faaaar better service and less expensive. It was 2 minutes before 8am when I pulled up to drive through I waited til it hit 8 on the dot then pulled up to the window. A not so friendly girl opened the window, didn't even bother greeting with a good morning. She seemed irritated and let me know they were not open yet. Please be very careful about the change you receive. Took the kids to Sonic for an evening treat. Order the food, and then proceed to wait. Wait for about 20 minutes and food arrives. I hand the employee a $20 for the meal and notify him that I am missing part of the order. He says they will correct it and roller skates away. Wait for another 20 minutes (now 40 minutes passed ticket time for order) and I'm still waiting on part of the meal- guy still has not come back with my change. Push call button asking why I haven't received my change and also notify them I want to cancel the piece of the order I never received. Guy comes back out and tries handing me 6 dollars for my original $10.24 order. He then tells me they also gave me a discount (not true). I explain I told them I wanted the cost refund of the item I never received and that the change due originally was much more than $6 dollars even. He then says ok and hands me back my $20. I verify that this is the amount of the refund and that they were ok with it. He agrees. As I'm strapping in one of my kids the guy comes back out stating he gave me too much money and that he only owes me $10 dollars. Once again, this is incorrect as the item I never received needed to be refunded. I show him the receipt as to not argue with stupid. He then hands me $12 and no change. By this time I give up. He then offers me a free shake. I decline.. Seriously who is managing these people? I still never received the actual tender that was owed to me. I will never go here again. read more

Management sucks. Ordered my kids 2 jr. Burgers with apple slices. Only got the burgers. Called the car hop back out and was given only one pack of apples. Showed him the receipt and he took it to the manager. Manager said she already gave us everything...excuse me?!? I had to give the car hop all our food so he could prove it to the manager and because it was rung up wrong initially we only got one pack of apples and then a thing of tater tots. The car hops are nice but the manager is awful. DO NOT drive off without checking the food first or open everything in front of the car hop because management will basically call you a liar. read more

Just visited this location at about 2:40pm, wasn't sure if Happy Hour included weekends or not and inquired about it only to be greeted with a RUDE response of "its after 2pm isn't it?!" The order taker then seemed annoyed that we were deciding on our sizes of drinks and said, "I'll give you some time to figure out your order". Finally when pulling to the window I was greeted by a sweet girl in a red shirt Anna who collected my money and asked if I needed a drink holder for 4 drinks. Then the window opens again and it's a what looked to be a manager(purple shirt) who by her voice was the rude order taker. She handed me one drink and when I reminded her I needed a cup holder she didnt say anything just let the window slam. She then handed me the remaining drinks in a cup holder, and said here you go. Never offering to put the initial drink in the holder. Just rude, and unappreciated. Better luck next time I guess. read more

Was in the area and hungry, so we went to check out Sonic and see what all the hoopla is. Everyone rants and raves about this place. I had high expectations. When we drove up to the restaurant it was packed, and I thought that was a good thing. We pulled up to the drive thru menu. I thought was cool and how we could pay outside. The food was skated over by our waitress. The service was fine but the food was just okay. There hamburger was ok. Nothing great, and the fries were bland. Maybe I picked the wrong Sonic to try but I was not impressed. I still love Wendy's & In & Out hamburgers better. Don't think I will be going there again. read more

Asked for an OREO Cheesecake Shake. Received an OREO Strawberry shake (not even on the menu??). Asked for them to fix it. The guy comes out with the exact same shake but remade. I press the button to ask what is on your "OREO Cheesecake shake?" and they listed the ingredients that I ACTUALLY WANTED. I then told them "well i already asked to get mine fixed but on both occasions I have received strawberries mixed in" they then tell me that the shake actually DOES come with strawberries. What a surprise! So just a heads up, the OREO cheesecake shake is actually just OREO and strawberry! Maybe it's a hidden secret on the menu? read more

If you'd like cold food, or melted ice cream, this place is just for you! I waited in line for 45 minutes for two ice creams. They handed me one and not the other. So one ice cream is melting and the other one comes out fresh. The kid working the window was running food back to the cars behind me. I ask for the manager who tells me it's OK because, "it's like this every night" according to the manager. Let's just say they only care about themselves not your wishes as customer. If I hadn't promised my four-year-old ice cream I would've left but as most parents know, that would turn into a melt down. Thank you, sonic, for ruining my night. Totally addicted to Sonic. This location has always served fresh items and made our stuff on point for Sonic. ALMOST as good as the Sonic's in the Midwest. I wish they served pickle-o's though, they are very YUMMY but not all locations have them unfortunately. This is definitely one of the better fast food places to go! read more
