Simply put- this is the most incompetent staff I've ever seen. I went during their milkshake happy hour and got 2 Carmel milkshakes. Took the lid off and was just ice cream in a cup. Took a taste and sure enough it was just plain vanilla ice cream. Went back to have it remade....... the second go around I got Carmel flavoring and the bottom the the cup with ice cream on the top. (And my tummy hurts already!). To sum it up, out of everything we ordered, THEY GOT 1 THING RIGHT! Here's a lil synopsis: We ordered at the stand up location, and when they read the order back, there were so many people laughing , screaming, and clowning around in the background, I couldn't even hear my order. #1 Sonic burger with no mayo - CAME OUT WITH MAYO. They FORGOT to ask if I wanted TOTS or fries. I wanted TOTS and remembered, so I had to get out of the car and go tell them, in the cold. EVEN AFTER MY SPECIAL TRIP IN - MY MEAL CAME OUT WITH FRIES, even after my special trip inside. I had to go in, yet again, and complain to the manager. Employees were grouped outside chatting, when I walked in, there was no one there to even help me. The ones there just stared with their mouths shut, waiting for someone else to talk to me. #2 Double Sonic burger was ordered with MAYO - came out without mayo. As the manager was trying to get the burger right, her employees were telling me I need to get outside. I stated I was just waiting for the manager, but they insisted I wait outside in the cold. I told them, send her to my car. I wanted to tell her after all this, we couldn't make another trip back there. She came out and I let her know and she came out AGAIN with some coupons. YAY, another horrible burger and bad experience to look forward to!!!!!! This time for cheaper! Sorry, if I want food, I'm not coming back, its just not worth the time of running around all over trying to get something edible. If you think that's all bad enough, I had ordered Sweet Tea (just got back from the South and feeling reminiscent), and normal bitter tea came out, with no sweetener in it. I was sick of going back and forth inside, so I flagged someone down and let them know. After this one, the manager came out yet again, this time very solemn just handing me the tea, very embarassed, understandably. I took a swig to find the exact same tea they had made the mistake of giving me before!! Can't they get a single thing right besides onion rings? I flagged someone else down and asked if they had Splenda. He said yes, he'd bring some right out. When he came out, he had off brand sweet n low, and said its the exact same thing as Splenda (its not, its got aspartame and other man made chemicals I stay away from). I said sorry I don't eat that, and he just went inside. He didn't offer to make it right in any way, and at this point I had 2 big containers of bitter tea. If you think it couldn't get any worse, think again. When I went to remove the tea from my car later (I figured I would put Splenda in it once I got home), I found out the HARD WAY that the employee did not put on the lid correctly as the cup split down one side and spilled out all over myself and the carpet and seats. I absolutely HATE complaining because employees usually bring out the manager and you have to explain everything all over again, relive it all and embarass yourself, but it hit me... if I don't point out where this place is falling short, WHO WILL?!!??! They are not going to get repeat business... PERIOD.... so I figure it the owner would like to know why... maybe he'll end up here on Yelp one day. I was so upset at the experience, I couldn't NOT complain. It's just hands down, the WORST. If I could give them zero stars I would. I've been here on numerous occasions before I decided to write a review. The service is so slow and half of the time your order is wrong. The people there act like they never understand what you're saying and you have to send your order back not once but multiple times before they get it right. Even then you just have to settle because they're so incompetent. I actually really love Sonic but not this one. The worst service and food ever. I've seen Sonic commercials for as long as I 've lived in southern California. But none of them are remotely near me. The last Sonic I saw was in Phoenix(ish) when I drove across country to move to Southern California about ten years ago. So, when visiting my father in Murrieta, he proudly took me to this one; touting the greatness of the foot long chili cheese dog. Since I do love me a good chili cheese dog, I accepted his offer, there are parking spaces with ordering machines built right into them. As we approached, girls wearing roller skates carrying trays of food would roller skate out to the various cars parked to deliver their tasty meals. This harkens back to an olden time before I existed. Apparently it was cool and hip way back when. I know it's part of the experience, but I really dislike eating in cars. So we walked up to the place and sat down outside. There was a similar ordering machine in the middle of their patio. The machine was fairly new, shiny, and technologically complex. But I've got a college degree, and I can figure things out. After a few moments of reading and studying, we figured it out. We pressed the button, and talked to the people inside. We ordered two foot-long chili cheese dog combos with onion rings and flavored sodas. There was a credit card slot, but we had cash. We re-read the machine, and investigated it's openings carefully. Then we pressed the button again to ask the people inside how to pay with cash. They politely told us just pay the girl on the roller skates. Oh ya. Der. Girl on roller skates came out with a tray of food. Everything was compartmentalized and packed up neatly so it wouldn't move during its roller skate travels. I do enjoy walls between my foods so they don't mix and cross-contaminate each other. She placed the boxes down, we paid, and I unpacked everything for my photograph. As I composed my shot, my dad began eating, and I jealously watched. After the photo I dug in. The hot dog was small. While it was a foot long dog, it hid at the bottom of the bun, buried in chili, cheese and onions. I was hoping for one of those gargantuan hot dogs that fill up the bun, and cause the toppings to spill over the bun. I've been spoiled by the 7-11 quarter pound hot dogs. But the chili, cheese and onions were tasty. The onion rings did not come apart, and I did not pull the entire onion out with the first bite. They were better than BK onion rings, which don't actually have onion in them. (It's kind of an onion-mash in those suckers) The flavored soda was also tasty. Again, I've been spoiled by the fountain machine at 7-11 where they have the flavors also. Everything was 'good'. I'm glad I've experienced a Sonic; but I'm also contented knowing that their food is about on par with just about every other fast food joint in Southern California. I can't imagine eating in my car, so while the whole car port ordering things is neat, that feature is kinda lost on me. The roller skate girls are fun. The order machine is technologically cool. The novelty of the drive-in hamburger joint will eventually wear out. And we'll eventually have to judge this place on its true merits. The food here is nothing special at all. The drinks, however, are worth a trip. I grew up around Sonic's for much of my life on the east coast, but it was never appealing to myself or anyone in my family. But the ability to create your own drink is definitely a nice touch. If you're looking for a good burger, you won't find it here. I'd classify it as a murder burger with an inflated price tag. I love their shakes, their lime-aids, their ice teas, and their slush. If you really want to go crazy and get something next level try an orange or steward cream slush! So good! I have now been here 3 times, and every time they have gotten my order wrong. 1st visit: Ordered a brownie blaster, add pineapple. They gave me a vanilla shake with pineapple in it. Mind you, they charge almost double for the blaster than the shake, so not only was my order wrong but I paid extra for nothing. 2nd visit: Ordered a regular meal. Cheeseburger with taters. Gave me a hamburger with fries. 3rd visit: Ordered a cranberry-lime slush. Got SODA WATER. And on top of that, it took them over 15 minutes to give me my card back. They took my card, gave me my drink, and then I sat at the window for 15 minutes waiting for them to give me back my card. When the girl finally did there was no apology or explanation. As I drive away I take my first sip of my drink and gag as it is soda water. The line was way too long to get back in for a refund or them to fix their mistake. Frustrating. One other thing, yes they have HAPPY HOUR; half price drinks (come on people yes they are non-alcoholic, no DWI's here) . First thing first people, it's a drive-in not a drive-thru; stay and experience a throw back to the good ol'days when people weren't always in a rush to get somewhere. The strange part is people really don't know why they are rushing or where they are rushing to. Do yourself a favor, sit back and relax in the comfort of your own vehicle. I've always been a fan of Sonic. In high school I was a cook at the Sonic back home in Texas. I ordered "The Ring Leader" with onion rings and a cherry limeade. Next time I come I'll have to try out the Blazin' BBQ burger. In a matter of minutes (6 to be more precise) my meal was brought out to me. I didn't experience male car hops anywhere until I came to this location, but I guess you can't discriminate. I would like to call him out and ask him where his skates were though. The burger must have been put together by a perfectionist, they usually don't come out looking like the picture. Some time in the past few years since I stopped working at Sonic they started to wrap the burgers like In n Out. Just something to help hold the burger together I guess. Worked out well until I was almost finished with the burger, they the extra little wrapper just didn't matter anymore. The onion rings were hot and fresh. I almost went with the usual side of tater tots, but with an onion ring on the burger it pushed me towards the rings. To close it out, id like to ask where the trays under the menus went? Now I have to get out my car to throw my trash away. I just ate greasy food and now I'm required to move from the seat of my car? Preposterous! read more

I love Sonic, but lately I'm becoming annoyed with them. This location has signs up (and has for the past month at least) saying that during happy hour they ask that you don't order a Route 44 slush until new equipment arrives. My friend and I used to happy hour every day for the slushes. Last week they let us order large one day, and then the next day they said we could only order medium (Which we did). We asked the carhop when they'd be getting new equipment so we could order big ones again, and she said they already had it. And still they refuse to sell anything other than the medium slushes during happy hour, but you can order them any other time. The whole point in going to happy hour, is we want them during happy hour when they are half priced. Even though this Sonic is closer to my house, it looks like I'll be driving out to Hemet from now on. This one can't seem to figure out what equipment they need to keep up with happy hour demands, so the customer gets punished. Not cool at all. read more

It shares the parking area with The Elbow Room, but they do their best with coning off areas to direct Sonci's guest where to go. Not going into too much detail for this place. Why?! Cause this isn't that great of a food place. Really, it isn't. What I will say is that their drinks and shakes are awesome. The only food thing I would order is the Coney Chili Dog with tater tots and the chili cheese tots... yes I know. This was our first time ever at sonic , we weren't sure what they are "famous for" besides their drinks. So it was a gamble at what to get (like getting egg rolls from jack or cheeseburgers from Dairy Queen) my husband and I decided to share some wings , half Asian half buffalo. Fries. Order of mozzarella sticks and my son got a corn dog. I couldn't even finish 3 of the wings. Completely unsatisfying. The fries were so old and cold. The only thing that was decent was the mozz. sticks and cherry limeade. We probably won't ever go back , because we spent $25 on food we tossed. Always takes forever, even when it's not busy. I've never been able to just drive through and quickly get a drink or shake. If you're gonna eat here, make sure you have an awesome playlist, because they either have incompetent workers or are understaffed. I've never been able to figure it out. The drinks are good and I love that they sell their ice for $3 a bag (five stars for the ice!) The food is mediocre, although the tots aren't bad (when they lay off the salt) and the fries are okay. I got this vanilla smoothie with seeds... I was confused so I called and spoke with Steve and was told to come back for a Large waffleberry... So I go back pull into a carport. Press the button and a female responds and I told her that I spoke to Steve and was told to come get a waffleberry brownie master blast. She said um ok I'll get it out to you. 25min just sitting there as every car starts clearing out so j press the button again. And it's Steve! So I told him ummm I've been waiting and he asked what I ordered and finally got it in less than 5min after speaking with him... I've only been to Sonic once and this was it. Not because it's bad, but because there are NONE around my area. I'm giving it three s.tars only because I don't think I can write a proper review. My friends and I stopped by on our way down to San Diego and just got drinks since it was summer. I did enjoy my chocolate shake though :D! I mean there aren't too many people I know who don't like chocolate I like how you order on a speaker phone thing outside and they come to you on roller skates. How fun! So my rating really only applies to breakfast, as their burgers taste like the ones you buy at a gas station when you are driving really far and have no other options. I am not a fan of gas station food, but if you are then by all means eat their burgers! Back to what is good- the breakfast croissant sandwich (I prefer the sausage one) is unbelievable! The bread is so warm and fluffy and the egg, well it looks like a real egg (not like the eggs at some other popular fast food joints), and it is just plain yummy! The perfect hang over food (next to breakfast burritos). The tater tots are also delish and I have been known to have a late night craving for them here and there. My boyfriend is a fan of all their crazy drinks and they have a "happy hour" for those. Here's a new motto: STAY HUNGRY! Seriously. This was my first time at a Sonic's location and after seeing all of the commercials on TV, I had to see what the fuss was all about. STAY HUNGRY! I say! My hubby and I went through the drive-thru and ordered a Chicken Club Toaster meal with tater tots and I went for the Chicago hot dog and some mozzarella sticks. DISGUSTING! I couldn't quite put my tongue on it, oh wait we paid $13 bucks for a headache and a stomachache. My hotdog's bun was flimsy, the "frank" was a salty ass Vienna sausage, with an even saltier pickle spear, and topped with CELERY SALT!!! The tater tots tasted like little salt cubes, and the mozzarella sticks weren't even cooked all the way and were also sodio-rific! Sodium overdose anyone? His Chicken Club Toaster looked like a chicken sandwich from my elementary school cafeteria with a few slivers of bacon. It was a poor attempt at a club sandwich, considering it wasn't tall or thick! First time hitting Sonic and I really can't complain. I ordered the Super Sonic Double Cheese Burger combo with tater tots and a Dr. Pepped with cherry flavoring. Everything was just perfect and the Dr. P was way better than the pre-made stuff you can buy at the store. Four stars because I askd for ranch dressing for the tots and it just has a weird...... slimmy in a way type of flavor. Just visited this location... (Saturday night, 9/6/14, approx. 8:00-8:40 PM) Not sure why three outta five stars? Should be five, at least! The service was fast, great, accurate, and certainly friendly. First off, when we pushed the button, it's like the dude was waiting for an order - immediate response! Got the order right and didn't have an attitude when I asked to change part of the order. Then, the food came quick, the car-hop was patient while we "got situated" with the food, and was thorough in specifying what was what and asking if we needed anything else. While we sat and watched and ate, we observed the bathrooms being serviced twice (within about a half hour time period); we were visited on two occasions by car-hops to check on us; and it seemed like almost as soon as a car was gone, a car-hop was there to sweep up the spot. Overall, it was easily a five star experience! ...And almost forgot, it's not like there was a huge team of people doing all this - aside from the dude that took the order, there were only four girls out delivering food, checking on folks, picking up, checking the water-closets, etc. Lastly, I've been to the Sonic in Fullerton and Rancho Cacamunga, and this location tops 'em both for dang sure. read more

When we first moved here we were here practically every week for their slushies and drinks. But now that the novelty has worn off we've been seeing this drive through for what it is: mediocre fast food with a long wait. If you come here for the happy hour where drinks and slushies are half off, its totally worth it. That is when I come with the kiddies. They love it! I can get 3 slushies all for under $3 and it a nice refreshing snack for them in the afternoon after school. read more

I have come here 10+ times, and I kid you not, they have gotten my order wrong EVERY time. How is that even possible? Every time I complain and the manager, a young man, doesn't do anything. I have come several times just to order drinks (yes gotten those wrong too) but on top of that, two drinks take 20+ minutes to come out.
