Waited 15 mins in a stall with NO RESPONSE. Moved over to drive through and waited LONGER.

I have been to this restaurant as a Postmates driver many times. Every time I am there the employees seem to be having several issues. The intercoms aren't working, the employees have never gotten an order correct, they forget the receipt and act annoyed that they have to get it, they take 35 minutes to serve one small meal, the fries/tots/onion rings are always burnt, etc. I now refuse orders that send me there. read more

Always like Sonic food. But it's not worth the wait here! I can drive to several others within a few miles and have my food faster than waiting at this one. Just for grins one night I went there and placed an order. Simple hamburger combo. After waiting over 15 minutes I thought I'd just wait and see how long it might take. They won! Dumpster fire. We've been to this location a few dozen times and rarely do we not question our own intelligence for doing so. It's like drinking and then waking up with a hangover and saying, "never again!". But you go back anyways because the food is tasty and you are a stickler for driving. Besides all the sonics in this area are comparable. Epically slow, time moves backwards at times. We were once warned by an employee enjoying herself a good smoke to just leave, because it was chaos inside. Could be the worst managed joint in all of KC. read more

I waited over 20 minutes tonight for two drinks. They were busy, but it was frustrating because the workers were socializing with a group of teenagers that were sitting outside and also walking in and out of the inside area where only the workers are. I told the carhop that I was frustrated with the wait time, and he walked off without giving me my change. When I called after him, he obviously heard me and ignored me. I asked for a manager, who offered to have James bring me back my change, which I was uncomfortable with because he was obviously angry. He instead brought me a free token for a medium drink but not my change. The manager was very apologetic and kind, but this behavior by an employee is definitely not acceptable. read more

This is the worst Sonic I have ever been to. It took almost 5 minutes to order. The popcorn chicken was soggy and so were the mozzarella sticks. We asked for ranch, and they never returned to give some to us. One positive for the place is that the workers were friendly. read more

Just went to this Sonic and ordered the cookie dough big scoop blasts. What a waste of money, the help is so bad and inept there was no cookie dough in the entire blasts and only the big scoop on top. So I paid an outrageous amount for medium cup of vanilla ice cream. Plus they tried to deliver it to the car next to me. I could drive to the Sonic in Spring Hill and get better service and the orders right. Won't be going back to this one. read more

Service is terribly slow. Food is cold. We give Sonic a try once a year and each time the wait is terrible and the food is awful. Staff was inattentive and non-responsive. I have been told on numerous occasions they are too short staffed to take my order or like today I was told if I wanted to place an order I had to wait 15 minutes and then I could ring back in for an order. This is the worst customer service and very annoying. The management here needs to step up and make sure their customers are being taken care of. S-U-P-E-R slow! It took 15 mins to get my order the first time - and it came out cold and missing several food items (hard to do when I only ordered a chicken strip dinner - but they managed to skip a chicken strip and the onion ring). The food I did get was cold! I asked them to remake it - and they did. 10 minutes later (almost 30 mins after I pulled into the parking lot) I was leaving with food. This time I didn't even look at it until I was home - the chicken strips were all there, hot tater tots, and an onion ring. However, the gravy is like water with a few chunks of flour floating around in it. If there was an option to give "0" stars - that would be my rating for tonight's service. read more

This is by far the worst Sonic on the planet. It is so close to my house and I have had nothing but bad experiences there over the past 10 years. They were once completely out of meat (yes all meat); they once sold me a shake that was completely melted (knowing their machine was broke); burnt food; long long waits; and once they never took my order after a 10 minute wait. These are just a few of the bad experiences. I love Sonic, but don't go here. Drive up to 135th and Black Bob. You will be happy you did. read more

Ordered three slushes, received what can only be described as 3 waters with flavoring. When we told them what was wrong they said sorry and after a long pause that their machine was broken...no shit? This isn't the first time it happened this week so they are selling their slushes without letting people know the machine is broken. Secondly when we asked for a refund the first person ignored it, the second person said some very quiet words and finally the third guy was helpful. I don't blame the workers but whoever instructed them to keep selling them without telling the customers. I don't know what happened they got really good not too long ago and it all went back down. read more

Worst fast food restaurant in Olathe. I'm not sure how they remain in business. My wife went to pick me up a foot-long coney. She came back with a bare hot dog covered in just onions. When I called the establishment, a young man answered the phone. I didn't believe him at first because he sounded so young, unprofessional, and totally nonchalant about my concern. He said that I could come back sometime in the future and just get another hot dog. While speaking to him, I was also reading the Yelp reviews, and told him that customers receiving wrong orders seemed to be a common occurrence at that location. He then became agitated and began to speak to me indignantly while also raising his voice. I then asked to speak to his manager and he refused to give me their name. After repeatedly asking, he told me that he was the manager. He stated that his name was Isiah Maldonado, and claimed that he was the General Manager. I then asked for the corporate number. I called and found out that it was a bogus number. I then had to call back and he gave me the actual number. After calling corporate, they told me that the location was owned by a franchiser and they've received numerous complaints before. They guaranteed that they'd contact the owner and voice my complaint. They were very professional and polite. If you read through these Yelp reviews, you'll find that many orders are taken incorrectly because English is not the first language of many of the employees. They can't understand what you're saying and don't bother to take the time to make sure they received your order correctly. read more

Absolutely horrendous service at this sonic I only go here if I have absolutely no other choices. I've showed up at 3:45(a few times actually)and didn't get acknowledged until after 4:00 and the servers along with the managers refused to grant the happy hour price I should have gotten. It's an atrocious business; frys are always soggy, the servers have zero people skills, and it's been like this for years so clearly nobody is going to do anything about it. I've been to the Sonics in Lawrence and thought they had about the best fast food hamburgers around. Unfortunately, it's not the case here. There was something about the hamburger that was off, I'm not sure what. The fries were good as was the service (however, minimal). A hamburger (which is charged like a cheeseburger without the cheese) and fries was over $6--as much as a much better sandwich elsewhere or a lunch special at a sit-down restaurant. Maybe the fact that they wanted to charge me 39¢ for water left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

This is the WORST sonic we have ever been to!!! I was hoping they had an off night but my husband and I gave them the benefit of the doubt too many times. We have been there 3 times now and waited almost 20min for milk shakes! Not only did we wait insanely too long but the shakes were HORRIBLE!!!! They were melted and disgusting. This Sonic is awful. My wait was so long today I assumed they had completely forgotten about me. When my food was delivered I asked what the hold-up was. She mumbled something about having a lot of orders. The parking stalls were empty and the drive through had one car in it. I got home and discovered no salsa in the bag for the breakfast burritos I had ordered. This is not a one-time experience. Long waits, messed up orders, apathetic employees are the norm here. Even though this one is close to where I live, it will be faster and less irritating to drive up to the Sonic near 135th and Blackbob like the other reviewers have suggested. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This is the worst Sonic (or maybe fast food restaurant) EVER. They hire people who don't care about being there. The employees smoke and then don't wash their hands before they start working again- and when you confront them a manager does nothing. Orders are always wrong, even if it's 2 drinks. SLOOOOOW. All I ordered was a sausage, egg & cheese toaster sandwich. I was on my way to work so didn't check it (as I normally do. What I got was a "small bun" (the size of a small sausage)with a burnt sausage, very little cheese and a regular sized egg. Needless to say I didn't get to eat. I rarely review places negatively. But just wanted to give others a heads up. Today was $0.50 corn dog day and I ordered 5 corn dogs for my family. After preordering on the app and waiting an extra 20 minutes for the food to arrive, I finally got my order. Because my kiddo had been super patient and was extra hungry, I tore open one of the corn dogs to cool it off for him and it had uncooked batter on the inside. (Thankfully I didn't blindly given it to him!) I opened another and again, raw batter. So I let the attendant know and she was nice and went and got me 5 new ones. I checked those. All raw batter. I didn't have time to wait for this problem to get sorted out, so we left. And again, they were only $0.50 each but still a nasty surprise to bite into raw batter. I had hyped my son up for our special Sonic corn dog day all week cuz it's a special treat to get fast food and Sonic's corn dogs used to be one of our favorites. So we were pretty disappointed. By far the worst Sonic I have ever been to. I sat at a stall for over 10 minutes with no response. I then pulled up to the drive through behind another car that waited 2 or 3 minutes with no response at the drive through who then drove off. This is not the first time I have had problems at this Sonic and ever time I come here I regret it. Although this is the closest Sonic to us we will be driving the extra couple of minutes to the one down the road. This place needs a serious overhaul in management. read more

There have been a few times we've regrettably tried this sonic by my house. Tonight, my wife went to get two drinks, just two drinks. There were only a few other people there and 20 minutes after her order was placed she hit the buzzer and was told it would be another 15 to 20 minutes. She then cancelled her order because they didn't know what it was. We will never got back to that sonic and I'm tempted to never go to another sonic again because they allow that place to stay open. Don't go to many fast foods places- but I have to say that our experience was great! Very busy place, so had to wait a bit just like other restaurants - but our server person was cheerful and the gal who took our order was very friendly! read more
