I just went to sonic to get a cherry coke. I opened the lid to give my son a piece of ice and this little bug was just floating on top! I took it out to get a picture and it was a live one What a waste of my whole soda.

All of our food was cold and looks like if it out for awhile.. wait 30 minutes to have cold food. Not fair

That is all the strawberry in my Strawberry Limeaide.

One would think if I'm paying over 3 and a 1/2 bucks for a strawberry lime that there would be more than a teaspoon a strawberry in it. There wasn't hardly enough to even give it flavor. It it was pretty much a straight Limeade dash of strawberry.

Mozzarella sticks for 99 cents who can beat that!? Yeah right! Apparently you have to tell the employees of their own promotions or you don't receive the discount price. I tried to explain to Erika at the window but she made no effort to make it right. I'm not surprised Sonic is very slow and the service is atrocious.

Quick bite to go and the only reason I'm in Shafter is because I had to appear for a driving violation. So when you get a ticket at Kern county and you have to appear at the Shafter court, you will at least have a nice place to grab a quick bite.

My boyfriend and I always get an ice cream here on stay at home movie nights. Service is as best as it can be. I think some of the reviews are harsh. You have to keep in mind that this is a very small town and one of three drive thru's. You have three choices: Sonic, McDonald's, or Del Taco. Sonic is the only fast food who has happy hour after 8 so drive thru is always about 5 minutes or more depending on other orders. Staff is always friendly!

Only good thing here are the drinks other than that everything sucks! Burgers are no good and either are the hot dogs.

We almost didn't come here because of all the bad reviews in the past but we gave it a chance and went through the drive thru.

They gave me a sample of the lavender iced tea but I wouldn't order it. Outside seating is great if you want to hear the conversation because it is loud and noisy inside, just super busy. It is Grilled Cod with pineapple, cabbage, green onions, cilantro, crema & guacamole which sounds so delicious. There are two reasons why I gave a lower star review today. I was really looking forward to these tacos but unfortunately the fish was mushy with very little flavor. As I ordered my server asked if I wanted the signature, curly or sweet potato fries. What she neglected to inform me was that there was an add on fee for the sweet potato fries, so my $13 lunch special turned into a $16 lunch. I don't like surprises! Although the service was very good, I would like to have made an informed choice on the fries. Mostly they have yummy food and good service. They have Happy Hour 3-6pm and 9pm to close daily. I have to come back soon for that because I'm really curious, the happy hour menu looks a treat.

Last year I made a large reservation for about 10 ladies to celebrate someone and on the way to the restaurant they called to confirm the reservation (about 30 minutes before), but I did not hear my phone. When I arrived, a distraught friend told me that they did not have our reservation so I asked what the issue was. The manager told me because I did not confirm, they were not sure they were going to hold the table. I apologized that I had not recieved a call, but asked if we could still have the table (I was there on time and could see the large table with the reservation note on it). The manager begrungenly said they would allow us to still dine with them, but they said they would not seat us until more of our party arrived. I asked if we could wait for our party at the bar, but they said they would not because every seat at the bar was taken. So just a heads up, you cannot stand at the bar, you cannot stand around the restaurant, and they do not have a place to sit and wait for your table, you just have to stand outside (I'm sure it has to do with safety or firecodes, I didn't argue, we waited outside until people at the bar left). Once we were seated, the staff was not friendly. Wondering if we should leave or not, I called a friend who works near the building who frequents this place often on what I should do. He told me to go back inside and that the staff would be nice. When I returned, a new server came to our table with a tray of shots and said they would be taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I figured maybe the manager and that other server was just having a bad day, my friend must have called the restaurant and asked his most trusted server to help us, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. I didn't want to risk it another bad experience, so I haven't returned since. A few months ago during the whole Cesar Chavez news broke out, that friend who frequented the place went with another friend to the Botonist and was talking about the news while they were dining. The manager overheard. Later when my friends were getting ready to leave, the manager started becoming upset with my friends and told my guy friend, "I HOPE SOMEBODY R*PES YOU". Stunned, he asked her to repeat herself and she did. My friends left. The chefs and building are wonderful, but obviously something needs to be done about the management and staff with being professional and treating customers with respect. I've worked in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be, but I have always been able to keep my cool around people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal. Hoping they recieve the help they need as I love to see my community thrive.

Their tri-tip and chicken combo is one of my favorite meals because both meats are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I could honestly eat their fries all day because they're always crispy, seasoned perfectly, and pair with everything on the menu. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere. If you're looking for delicious food, great portions, and consistently excellent service, Firestone Grill is definitely worth a visit. The vibes in the new space are absolutely immaculate. There is so much more energy here, and the decorations are incredibly cute. It's the perfect backdrop for a killer meal. The Main Event: This time around, I went with the En Fuego Burger. This beast is loaded with a chile-spiced beef patty, pepperjack, sharp cheddar, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo, pepper relish, pickled jalapeños, and a mountain of fried jalapeños + onion strings. The Flavor Profile: This burger delivers on every level, but those fried onion strings were to die for. For the side, I got the sweet potato fries, which are served as big, thick-cut wedges. They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.
